remove icon labels/names? - HTC Sensation

Is there an App or widget that would allow me to remove icon labels/names?
Haven't rooted yet so just running a stock Rom.

you can use desktop visualizer and keep shortcuts of your desired apps on the homescreen and you can remove the labels/names .....

In 3rd party launchers like ADW and Launcher Pro the option to hide app labels is there.
But if you really want to keep stock launcher I guess you could use Desktop. Visualizer to add a shortcut to the app and clear the label then use the icon from that app but it comes out a bit stretched out, unless you have custom icons in a higher resolution.

Bettercut will do that for you too.

GO Launcher EX has this option as well.

[Q] App for Launching App Drawer (w/o using rosie)

Does anyone know of an app that can launch your app drawer?
Ive tried Desktop Visualizer, but it doesnt give me the option to launch the app drawer. i can only do it using the rosie.
I wanted to know if i could basically create an icon on a home screen to launch the drawer so i could use a completely hidden rosie.

Launcher pro or adw launcher can do this.

Yup! Just long press and add a "Launcher Action"... They will let you customise the icon as well
I prefer ADWLauncher EX the paid version

where do i long press? im using LPP and desktop visualizer but i still cant figure out how to use an icon to launch the app drawer
On an empty space on one of your home screens... as it you would add a widget or a shortcut.
Works fine on ADW Launcher Pro.
Greetz
still no luck. i dont see where LPP or DV gives me the option to add a 'launcher action'
when i long press the homescreen, i get the standard Shortcuts, Widgets, LPP Widgets, Folders, and Wallpapers
where do i go from here?

Launcher actions are shortcuts I think.

I assume you need the ADW launcher for the extra options.

In adw just press and hold the launcher icon on the bottom bar and drag it up to the screen

If you have LPP or ADW you don't need DV...
I think LauncherPro you would: long press home screen / add shortcut / actions / launcherPro / LauncherPro (app list in small type)
Hope that helps.
Though it is not really the "App drawer" its just a list... ADW actually gives you far more customisable options. Try the free one first if you like

In Launcher Pro, keep your finger down on one of the mi ddle buttons on each dock. It will say Edit dock shortcut.
goto change shortcut --> App Drawer.
Done

Sorry, ignore me, I see what you're trying to do. I'm not sure LP can do this. I can;t see an activity which replicates opening the app drawer. You might ask the developer. He's pretty good at responding.
I have your answer.
Adw.
Search settings for hide bottom dock.
Search settings. Use swipe up gesture for app drawer.
Done
I think I'm having the same problem here.
I was trying to launch the app drawer from the homescreen, not from the dock, but LPP doesn't have that option or perhaps I just don't know how to do it?
Using DV also doesn't help.
Any ideas?

Replace ADW Launcher EX drawer with Gingerbread?

I bet it has been requested a zillion times before, but I cannot find it. I love the ADW Launcher EX home replacement app, but I don't fancy the app drawer. Can I replace the different drawers with the one found in stock Gingerbread?
I've tried out the "4D drawer" in ADW EX, but it isn't as smooth as stock.
I would like this too

Just wondering, have you tried the new vertical drawer? Most responsive/smoothest scrolling app drawer I've used. I don't know of a way to only use the app drawer of a launcher other than a 3rd party app replacement like alt drawer in this forum, or shortcut linking to a drawer like the blur one.

Hmm, care to elaborate (bold)? I've tried all there is Even in Go Launcher and LauncherPro, but none come close to the smoothness of stock GB
Well, from your other posts it sounds like you have a Nexus/Stock by default phone, so you wouldn't be able to do this. But on the newer versions of the Motorola skin, like the 2.3.3 Droid X update, the app drawer can be chosen as a shortcut with a custom launcher, like LauncherPro. So you can map the app drawer icon in the dock to the app drawer itself: http://www.droid-life.com/2011/05/3...-new-blur-app-drawer-together-on-your-droidx/

Customizing my galaxy s2

Hi, i've bought a galaxy s2 and have rooted the phone using android. Currently i'm using villain rom.
I've downloaded Launcher Pro Plus.
But I can't figure out how to customize my apps with custom skins. I tried press and hold to see if that works but no. Only works on the 5 bottom application! Can anyone help me how to customize the rest of the apps.
Thank you
What u mean my apps with custom skin? Did u mean custom icon for ur apps or the apps to suit with ur custom launcher?

Custom icon for my app's!

You have to assign the icon as you add it. Long-press & add shortcut/application that way. Once the icon is on the screen, you can't change it. Just one of the many reasons I chose ADW EX over LP+.
You can also use Desktop Visualizer. If you add your apps as widgets you can change the icons later by opening Desktop Visualizer, selecting menu, then refresh widgets in edit mode. Then you can select the Desktop Visualizer widget you want to change as if you were launching it & you'll be taken to the configuration screen. When you're done editing the icons change back to normal mode by selecting the notification or menu > refresh widgets > normal mode within Desktop Visualizer.
By the way, you didn't have to root to do these things. And in my opinion, ADW (Ex) is a billion times better for customization.

If you want to change icon at ur homescreen, then Yes,can. But if u want to change on app drawer,it hard to do.
For me,im just using Folder Organizer to change icon on the homescreen only.
Other method is using adw launcher.

[Q] Hide the application labels?

Hello,
I've been searching for some time now a way to hide the label of the applications on the homescreens.
Do you know is there is a mod; an application (I haven't found it in Leedroid Tweaks) or standard option that could allow this feature?
Thanks for your answers!
Depends on the launcher you are using. In Nova launcher gp Nova settings >desktop >Icon label; for hiding the labels of the app shortcuts in the home screen

Download Desktop Visualizer from the Play Store and recreate all your app shortcuts using that. It will allow you to make a custom launcher for an application (can just keep using the same icon) and not use a label. It's free.
Thanks for your answers!
I'm using Sense 3.6. So maybe it's available for Sense and I just didn't see it...
I'll take a look at Desktop Visualizer.

UCCW and GO Launcher Shortcuts

Good day,
I am trying to create some new designs for UCCW but I've found the UCCW doesn't show the GO Launcher shortcuts as an option for a hotspot. This means I can't create a hotspot that opens the app drawer.
I read a possible solution was to use transparent Desktop VisualizeR widgets. However, that only works if the Launcher allows you to overlap widgets. I have been unable to find this option in the GO Launcher.
Other than switching launchers, is there another solution? Would the Popup Widget be suitable?
Many thanks.
