FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK
THE DEV TEAM IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE YOU CAUSE TO YOUR PHONE
** Please be aware some builds may not work, and be patient with the Vanir team as they continue to sort stuff out **
DIRECTIONS
Boot to Recovery
BACKUP
Wipe System/Data/Davlik/Cache
Install Rom
Install Gapps
Wipe Davlik/Cache
Profit!
°°For those flashing custom kernels°°
Be aware- Vanir includes a script that enables their own kernel tweaks. This script does not play well with flashing custom kernels. The solution! (IF THINGS ARE ACTING WEIRD)
Flash ROM
Navigate to- /system/etc/init.d/
Delete the file- 00kernelcompat
Reboot to recovery
Flash kernel
Profit!
You can also open the ROM zip on your PC before flashing and remove the file from the same directory then flash the ROM and you're good to flash the kernel.
**If you dirty flash between nighties, DO NOT wipe system or data before flashing the ROM. It will wipe gapps and the ROM install script won't be able to restore them**
That said, a clean flash is always recommended

HTC one M8 Vanir F2FS experimental test build-
Steps:
1) make a full backup of your internal sdcard (/data/media) on your pc
2) download and flash the latest philz touch recovery here- http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/m8/philz_touch_6.43.6-m8.img
3) select toggle f2fsext4 migration under mounts
4) format /system /cache /data and /data/media as f2fs (this will wipe out everything on your internal sdcard)
5) use adb sideload or adb push to flash the rom and gapps of your choice
Vanir - http://www.mediafire.com/?a1d387561bqqp3l
6) reboot into rom and set everything up again
7) enjoy testing?
**warning you CANNOT flash any other roms or kernels until you reformat /system /cache /data and /data/media back to ext4, except any roms or kernels that specifically say they are f2fs roms kernels (which there aren't any others yet)**

Assume that it is there. I believe nearly every other aosp/cm based rom has this problem..
So, just in case make backups like no other.

This may sound dumb, but how would you know that you have the encryption thing? My phone got a hard reset on LiquidSmooth 5/22, and I've not noticed anything wrong. What exactly happens with this bug?

It's not as often as it was. However, usually with a hard reset, your phone would reboot and ask for a password to decrypt your storage. You couldn't bypass it, and in order to get rid of it you had to wipe everything on your phone, aside from microsd. A very annoying deal, but as long as you make backups to your microsd, you can wipe, then restore.
I've had it 3 times on LS. Made me sad.. haven't had it on 5/29 and up yet though.

Very nice ROM.
Halo is a must for me on AOSP, as I don't like to use xposed if I don't need to.
Great job.

How's this running? I love me some aosp, ran liquid but had a lot of visual glitches on that one..
What's the word on this

Commotio is one of the team members version of Vanir. The boot animation is a little different and it has some blue theming. The to Ron's can be dirty flashed over one another, so try them both.

The Vanir team is great. I'm simply the messenger. They're not big fans of maintaining forum presence. I, on the other hand, quite like to spread the word about awesome, talented people's work! Thank you for the complement, the team will appreciate that very much.

[rom][wifi] stock 4.2.1 (tweaked) 11/29/12

THE WICKED NEXUS ROM
ANDROID 4.2.1
This is my first rom, I have tested it for stability and everything works to my knowledge. If you find an issue, make sure it isn't associated with the stock system. This rom is extremely fast, and has tweaks to increase battery life, and decrease lag issues, for a smooth experience. I will update this rom when possible.
I am not responsible for anything that happens to you're device after flashing this rom, if you brick, break, bend, or explode you're device, it is not my problem. People of XDA need to start showing respect to devs for what they do. this is a COMMUNITY, act like one.
Here's a little info on this rom
-Base 4.2.1 - Thanks scrosler, couldn't have made it easier to modify then he already did. Got the base here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2017998
-Stock Kernel Included
-Gapps included (debloated)
-De-odexed
-Rooted w/ SuperSU
-Busybox
-Zip aligned
-Unsecure boot.img
-Super debloated (still includes google now)
-stock theme
-Build.prop tweaks
-Battery tweaks
-reduced wifi seek time
-Cpu tweaks
-UI to be handled by gpu, not cpu for extremely smooth scrolling
-A factory rom the way it should be
May add in later
-Extended power menu
-More tweaks
-Suggested launchers
-Possible theme changes
-Possible Odexed system
Flash Info
-Download
-Nandroid backup
-Full Wipe
-Choose zip from sd card
-Flash
-Reboot
-Enjoy

Dirty flashing just feels dirty to me. It's like getting out of the shower and putting an old pair of underwear on. Feels so much better to start fresh.

Its always better to wipe before flashing a fresh build-especially when switching ROMs. Yes, you can get away with a dirty flash sometimes, but its never recommended unless the dev makes very minimal changes. With all of the app backup options in the market these days, it makes starting over a breeze. Takes about 10-15 minutes total to add Google and email accounts and restore all my old apps with their data.

I tried but first things I want to say here is when installing your ROM, it erases all my data in 'internal' sdcard while other ROM don't. You should warn that so people like me backup data before installing your ROM. Now I lost everything and it really pissed me off.
Does this have a battery % mod? Thanks! Can't wait to try it out!

There is no script to wipe sdcard in the META. Make sure you're data doesn't move to the 0 folder of the sdcard, this is common in the new update of 4.2.1. I've installed this multiple times without sdcard wipe. You shouldn't be pissed, nobody told you to install my rom, you do so at you're own risk. I'm not responsible for anything you do to you're device. If you don't already know this by now, you shouldn't even be here on XDA, or learn to make your own rom so you can't complain when something happens.

I'm running this ROM as we speak and all of my info is intact. When you go from 4.1 to 4.2 your data will move to another folder ("0") but should still be there.

Welcome to CMB Roms- CM done Better... Dark Themed for his/her Pleasure
Why CMB?
We are just better , in a nutshell we set out to give you the best of CM, with none of the annoying features (see list below), all this wrapped in a custom black theme. We used the KISS principal when deciding what to offer, we based our frameworks on CM alone (not FrankenFrameworks like some others out there), enabling us to provide updates and bug fixes as soon as CM does. This doesn't mean we are only relying on them for development, it just eases merging.
Features
Based on Android 4.4.1_r1, CM11.0
All current features CM11.0
Customized Dark Holo Theme With Gray ActionBars
Dark Mms
Dark Calendar
Dark Contacts
Ramdisk security tweaks, you can adb as root now!
Bash "tab to complete"
Remount helper, in adb shell
Old
Code:
mount -o rw,remount /system
New
Code:
remount /system
Better Right??
We plan to add more features, suggestions are welcome (but sometimes ignored )

I am very pleased to offer a custom rom for the LG G2 (D801)! This should be considered and early preview as there may or may not be some bugs, and rom tweaks (like theme) maybe forthcoming.
Special Thanks to @djrbliss for his bootloader patch LOKI this wouldn't be possible without it!
Special Thanks to @houstonn for his amazing kernel work!

CWM v6.0.4.5 Click Me

Ok my G2 D801 crew this is legit. In 2 days I was able to see Drgravy and team put out all of this.
***I have personally used both recoveries with 0!! Issues!!. I have rebooted in recovery and flashed cwm made back up and rebooted_ Them flashed twrp made back up and rebooted. Both able to restore 4.3.1, 4.4.1 and 4.4.2, Also able to flash between this version of CM11 and PA without any script errors or any other BS.
****Also TWRP wipes are back to normal speed_ no more using rm and rf and bootloops.
As far as CMB RC2 I have been running for 2 hours with no issues. No settings bug, exvellent battery and all butter.
Dugout forget about Blacked out UI, YOU NEED TO EXPERIENCE THIS ON IPS Display. Simply Awesome! ¡ 4

ok just traded my note 3 for g2 couldnt stand the lag
I love this phone. Now we have way more dev support. I have had it since 1st couple of weeks and we had 2 roms in the beginning no aosp based. Then androiduser built a couple and well here we are. The devs we have are freakin awesome! and a couple custom kernels devs now as well. Its just beginning....
Sent from my LG-G2 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
every thing seem to work on this rom , awesome work , fast , black ui , and more
Everything seems to be working great except animation that lag which also present on all cm11 ROMs but to get rid of that just go to dev options and put animation on no animation then it almost instant app opening . oh and battery life seems damn good deep sleeping like a baby almost good as stock .
Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk 2
new build in post #3
fixes the lag in animations

Anyone notice the in call volume not being able to be lowered? Its really loud for some reason but otherwise awesome ROM. Updating to latest build now.

I had some users error issues. lol I was trying to get root and forgot that you have to enable it in the developer options. Then installed 4.4.1 gapps so I started over. Then now just made a call and have the known echo bug.
Thanks for the Rom!

Also I ran into like 20 java errors building this so let me know what's broken and I'll see what I can do to try and fix it even though I don't know java.
Also what DPI do you guys like by default? Ill set it to whatever we like in the next build.
If you want it set to something you like, use your favorite file manager to edit system/build.prop

I was referring to the DPI. The member above you is probably right though, not everyone likes changing the DPI. I can change it easily enough by altering the build.prop myself.
Sent from my Evita.
Alrighty, I was just hopeful that most people liked lower DPI but I'll keep it at what it is.
Anyone had a chance to try this out yet? Some decent features.
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk
This is based off of aosp source instead of cm source. CM source is just modified aosp source.

Everything is aosp source at the base...where it goes from there .... Who knows...bottom line CM has the biggest device support list so all the mods they pull in for device support EVERY SINGLE ROM kangs. After that its just what features they bring in or don't and where they kang them from.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I "dirty flash" updates to Paranoid Android?
A: Usually, yes! I will try to make a special note next to the download section when clean flashes are recommended, however I am not perfect and may forget. Please always read the information in the latest Changelog to avoid any hassle.
Q: The Paranoid OTA app says my gapps need updated. Is this really necessary?
A: Nope! Google Apps are automatically updated via the Play Store, and therefore do not need to be updated manually. Additionally, if "dirty flashing" a new version, Paranoid Android automatically backs up Google Apps and restores them, so they are not necessary. However, when clean flashing (if you manually wiped the system partition), it is recommended that you use the latest gapps from the Paranoid OTA app.

I love how stable AOSPA has been for me in the past. I've had the least amount of issues running it. Only thing I would love to see is quiet hours built in like CM11 and notifications on the lock screen like Carbon. Other than that, I can't wait for 4.4.3 to come out.
One thing I want to point out before it does come out is CM11 is having an issue with aftermarket kernels when it comes to changing the LED; it causes Settings to FC. Now on Ayysir's builds this never worked but if someone else were to attempt this, maybe they can look into that before syncing with CM11 and releasing the next version?
I'm having no trouble with lean kernel 9.7
I haven't really used PA a lot, but I've always liked it. (My devices were always crappy, unsupported devices) Does PA usually support lockscreen notifications, like PAC-man does?

Not officially, but there are apps on the app store that do this.
Here is a popular one (free version, paid offers more features): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.knock.knock.demo
I dirty flashed from the previous build and had no issues. However, my friend clean flashed and did not have a keyboard. We had to flash the previous build and then dirty flash the new one. The MD5 sums of the ROM and GApps were both correct.
Where do to go to change your answers to those, "ask me again later", questions?

Yes you can certainly try dirty flashing if you want. I'm just passing on what the PA team recommended in the Changelog.
Sometimes flashes just Bork and you have to try again. Also using custom kernels can introduce more bugs sometimes.
Glad you both got it working!

Yes that's the latest right now. With that package you should at least have the stock AOSP keyboard. Not sure why it's not working. If you really want a clean flash, you could try using the stock gapps package, or add in the Google Keyboard with the full modular package to see if that helps.
Three devices (d2vzw ML1) all loaded PA 4.4 Beta1 (with PA kernel).
Got through initial setup, then loaded KT 06-03 AOSP kernel; no problem.
One (mine - work phone) will not boot with KT kernel.. again, same install procedure..
> adb shell
- exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -
All devices were previously running TW (old&slow 4.3) - with KT.
Suggestions?
(boots with lk for KK - fwiw..)
---------- Post added at 11:51 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:33 AM ----------
4.4 Beta 1 - TIBU complains about su binary being out of date..
Suggests SuperSU..
It will boot and run w/ lk; but that stutters when I'm typing; running with the default PA kernel till I can work out a resolution.
I've always used LK with no problems. I suggest trying the newest lk 9.7
Unfortunately I have no experience with KT, so I can't speak to it directly
I was a little confused in the OP, does this have hover, but not theme manager?
