CM11 has finally made it's way to the Wildfire S!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735775
Now let's hope someone will build it for the ChaCha!
I have already setup the chacha tree for cm-11.0, but had problems with the kernel the last time I tried to build.
To all the chacha devs: My sources can be found here. Feel free to build and share, but don't kang.

I will note that the current "best" kernel for the chacha is here: https://github.com/Luzifer1984/CHACHA-KERNEL
It's based on the one you're using, but a few things chacha specific have been fixed afaik.
I have no idea how to use it instead of the one you've got in your source setup. I have little to no experience in android rom compiling.

Since HTC has just dropped the 3.0 kernel source for the Sensation, is anyone working on a pure AOSP ROM? Not a de-Sensed ROM based off the One S leak, or a CM9 build with drivers hacked in from somewhere, but a real built-from-source ROM.
I'm thinking of taking a crack at building one, but I didn't want to duplicate someone else's efforts.

Sorry, yeah, I forgot about OpenSensation. I might clone the repo and play with the new kernel anyway, just for kicks. I haven't really tried to build Android from scratch before, but I'm a pretty good C/C++/C# programmer, so it might be fun to try.

No problem m8, i found another one the virtuous team work(ed) on a AOSP ROM too.
But i don´t know is it is still supported: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1428866
Just keep on going, its allways nice to have more developers woring on the Sensation!
I just managed to build OpenSensation with the HTC kernel source and boot it on my phone. Now it's time to play.
Well, it's a start!

AOKP
For the record I'd like to say that there is also AOKP, which builds on OpenSensation, which builds on CM9 repos, as far as I can gather.
I'm currently running b31 (b32 came out 2012-04-16) and most everything works. There are a couple of features missing from b31 that I used on CM7.1 Alpha, (like Quiet Hours), but they appear to have been added in b32.
If you're looking for something AOSP, my suggestion would be AOKP.
They pack Nova Launcher as an alternative to the stock launcher, but I uninstalled both and went with APEX, which IMHO beats both on customizability and unintrusive interface. YMMV however...
Hi,
I don't know and I'm wondering what is the problem with having AOSP fully working on - for example - HTC One S once kernel source is released.
Could someone briefly explain the problem and what in general must be done to port AOSP to a device (having device, original drivers and kernel)?
Thanks for sharing the knowledge

...If you want an unofficial Alpha version
I know that there are AOSP based builds. Buth there is always something not working - liek camcorder.
And I just want to know why is it so? Some tech explanation behind that? Is kernel source and drivers is not enought?
I didn't port AOSP to any device so I am curious what is the reason
We have paused the project since randomblame has already released a 4.3 ROM with a kernel and this kernel is not needed.

Amazing work my friend...! You really give life to this old devices!
Nice to see new kernel for our device, but i think u must provide the kernel source of this kernel..

As I said, it is not source built. It is a modified JellyTime kernel to run android 4.3 ROMs (eventhough there are none atm).
Because of you I start to port a 4.3 build for DHD

Great! Eventhough I can't guarantee that my kernel will function correctly I hope I just sprung another spark on the porting of Cm10.2
Great, actually we have non-booting codefirex experimental nightlies 4.3, someone should give it a try.
it gotta be great I know

I ask you to make a kernel for 4.1,2 SENSE 5
Did you really do a great favor
Ok tried it with CFX 4.3 but seems it's not even booting.
I guess, @CedArctic, it's not as easy as it looks. huh?
EDIT: PC sorta recognizes it, but ADB reports device being offline.
This build (CFX 4.3) I can install it on my device ? Or he won't boot ?

it should be built from Source to work..i don't have a stable internet connection to begin with..so cannot sync the huge repo for the build..
That's fine...did you had a chance to visit the DNA forum...I created a thread for getting developers for our device...I found a developer who said he can help...it would be nice if you can visit that thread and support any questions...

hard luck...but do you think it might be because of kernel issue...did you try with kairi kernel for 4.2.2 or you can check with him to get support...
Boot also has some issues.
Its not entirely the kernel issues.

it wont work(easily) by just porting..it has to be vendor specific files from CM to make the framework boot..i have compiled my own CM Rom(for Nexus4) before and its much easy to build than port.. i am eagerly waiting for summer for the AOSP project to start..
Even we are waiting for your AOSP based ROM!
The major thing that we are missing for our device is CM...if we get CM then our device will be excellant...

CM can come if someone builds CM from source.
Start from kernel porting is correct way. As two devices are similar, after replacing kernel to the one that runs on your device, it will boot. Without working kernel you cannot debug with logcat.

Nobody is trying to build kernel for Cyanogenmod?
Maybe I can build kernel for x920d/x920e, but as I don't have these devices I cannot check whether built kernel works or not.

i'd be better building it ground up to make sure everything is fine..kernel is easy to setup..the vendor and device files are the PITA..since this is a unsupported device and the next closest base is the Droid DNA..

See slimroms announcement regarding this matter. So you may have to wait a bit, but i would be surprised if one of the devs would not give a try.
Yeah
And if they didn't then we will donate to them in Advance to start it:highfive:
I'd love to see it for 5110 as well
Which kernel do you prefer for now? For p3100 cyanogenmod?
Be patient guys. Google did not released the source yet, after that it will take some time until well known roms like SlimRoms,OmniROM or CM merge those changes.

Stock CM11 kernel is good enough.
I've tried almost all the kernels of this forum, an the stock is the less "clicky" on audio playback.
