Hey, I've been trying to root my HTC Inspire 4G for a little bit now.. I found it in a drawer and thought "Why not?". I've read around and I know everything for this phone isn't really around anymore, like the Ace Hack kit. I downloaded the AAHK and did what the guide on XDA told me to do. I unlocked bootloader, downgraded, I have a gold card, but the hack kit won't work. I'm guessing it's because the servers are no longer active for it... But, being how it is now, I'm wondering if there's any possible way to root my Inspire. Thanks!
same problem
If you find a solution please email me letting me know how you were able to root it. I'm trying to learn how to root, unlock and fix any electronic. I have had no luck and its extremely irritating lol. I would appreciate the help

I have a USA MT3G and i want to root my phone so that i can tether with the original Tmobile rom. Is it possible to root the phone with the Tmo ROM?
I keep reading all these posts on how to root the phone but it seems so damn complicated . I am very tech savvy but i just cant seem to understand how to do this. Maybe it's because i cant find the right guide or files to root the phone. There are so many versions of SPL's I am afraid i will brick it.
Can someone point me in the right direction please....
Did you read the sticky's?
Sorry, but my 6 yr old could do this.
look for 1-click root.
Wrong forum, and didn't try searching.
Hey everyone!
I'm finally glad to say that i have oficially become am Infuse owner and android junky! My buddy was able to get me the Infuse while in NY after many other attempts and heartbreak...
This thing is amazing! My first android phone and I love everything about it so far. Too be honest, the size isn't nearly as uncomfortable as i thought it could be. Feels great in the hand, bit slippery thought.
The next step is to unlock the sim which I believe i need to root it first yeah? When i root the device will change to vanilla Froyo or will touchwiz still be there? What will i lose in regards to apps and widgets and things like that?
I have seen two posts regarding rooting and sim unlocking so far. This is my first adroid device so this process is quite new to me. Would you all point in the right direction for which you believe is the best newb friendly for to root and sim unlock. I will be doing this first thing after work on Monday.
Thanks for all the helps as always!
I'm sooo excited...
First things first....
Find and download the latest Samsung Kies and install....this will give you the latest drivers to root using super one click...

Thanks!
When i plugged the device to my computer I saw that there were 3 options: Mass storage, media, and somthing about Kies. Do i need to download this on the device or on my computer? And then would i select the Kies option when connecting it to the computer? I know this all newb of me, but i do appreciate all the help.
you need to google kies find and install with out it you cant really root.
then head over to Android development and download both the root and unlock since you need it unlocked.
as regards for losing apps or touchwiz, they still will be there.

Kies will install like an iTune kinda thing, but doesn't work for now on infuse st the same time install the infuse windows driver, if yoi just want to install the samsung infuse driver just go to, http://www.junefabrics.com/android/driver.php scroll down and click the samsung

read the whole thread on unlocking. it may print the wrong line and not give you the proper unlock code. you may need to use adb to find it through instructions found in the thread. also you will need the usb drivers which will install with kies (unless you are on a mac then you dont need drivers for usb devices) but if you find the samsung drivers without kies that might be better.
when you root it will still be touchwiz. touchwiz is hard to get rid of, not that there is a point, it isnt a bad ui.
i actually used this to root and unlock. i subsequently tested it with a Tmob sim and it worked great.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1081072
but yeah, get the drivers first and then follow the instructions and you'll be well on your way to freedom!
Downloaded Kies
Dowloaded superoneclick v 1.9.1
When i open superoneclick, i have a few files like root, adb, driver...etc. There is also one that says superoneclick, do i click on this one and extract?
EDIT: I saw the other thread posted by lost1 that uses the Rage against the cage method. This has a root and unlock paired together which i'm thinking might be an easier way to go.

im not the most computery savy person around... I have looked at both methods and cant really decide which one will probably be easiest..., or more idiot proof. going to try one as soon as I get home from work. hope all goes well and I dont brick my phonr or something like that. thanks for helping.
Unlocked Infuse in 10 min
The Infuse is my first smartphone ever and im getting used to it too. I read about rooting and such and decided to do it. I used the super one click method and it was easy. I just downloaded and installed kies which recognized my phone then ran the superclick program and it was done. super easy. dont think it unlocked the sim but im not worried about that though.
I read through a bunch of guides on rooting and flashing a rom and all this has gotten me extremely confused. All I want to do is root my phone. I want to keep the stock HTC rom except I want my phone to be rooted.
What is the safest way to do this with almost no chance of getting my phone bricked? I keep hearing this thing about a "radio off" and how easily it bricks your phone. I am looking for the absolute safest root method out there.
All I need is to remove the SIM Lock since I am going to Europe in 2 weeks. I might try underclocking as well. Also, I obviously have an HTC Inspire 4G
I recommend the ace hack kit. Its extremely easy now with version 11. Its simply as following the prompts and hitting 1,2,3. Once rooted flash attn1 rom. And you will be stock rooted with the latest Ota's radio
As to the radio s off, that in itself is not the problem but of flashing of radios. For example if you happens to flash a radio that was corrupted while downloading that has a potential to cause a brick. That's why you should always verify the downloads.

If you just need the sim unlocked, just call AT&T for the code. If your Inspire qualifies...is not new and still under consignment...they should provide one. No need to root to unlock the sim. And just because there seems to be a lot of people rooting their Inspires doesn't mean it is popular. I haven't rooted mine and don't plan to because my Inspire works flawlessly as is with the OEM ROM. If you are feeling the urge or pressure to root your Inspire just because other people are doing it, don't. If the Inspire was running WinMo or some other low-quality OS, yes, then take the time to root. But it isn't. The Inspire is running Android. There's nothing wrong with Android as it currently is.
Hello and welcome. IMHO, att1's Hack Kit is the way to go. So long as you don't have a bunch of apps on your phone yet, start to finish rooting will take approximately 15 mins.
This will flash the stock rooted rom back onto your phone. It's incumbent upon you to backup any SMS, apps, contacts...that you don't want to lose.
Take you're time, read the EFFIN MANUAL and search prior to askin any q's relating to using the hack kit. Should you run into a situation that you're unable to find a concise answer for, drop into the chat room and see if your issue(s) can be resolved from there.
Good luck,
Tx
As he said above if all you want is sim unlock, get an unlock code.
If you insist on rooting, we will be happy to help you through the process, as long as you promise to continue reading, and researching before you attempt it.

Okay, if its rooting, the best remedy is to read the threads, I know there is a lot. There is a lot of information on this forum, and alot of the questions you have been asking have been covered a couple times.
As said above all the instructions including a stock rooted rom (with the ota update and bloat removed) are included in the hack kit. What the hack kit will do, is help you create a gold card (to bypass the CID check), downgrade the rom ( you won't have sound while downgraded), root then s-off (security off) the phone which also sim unlocks the phone, then flash a rooted stock rom.
Mud is correct and I have run into him a lot today posting lol. He also made the sticky at the top of the forum. He knows what he is talking about. This isn't the first phone I have rooted. But it is the first that wasn't a one click root. The ace hack kit was very simple to use just read read read and read again make sure you understand the process before starting. If you don't understand ask in this thread and we can all try to help out as best we can. Although i think mud will be taking the most of this lol. Also use the search feature and google your probably not the first person with a problem so more then likely the answer is already out there. Good luck with rooting.
Help guys. I've been at this all, and I'm starting to pull my hair out. There are so many steps and guides, and it's just so confusing and frustrating. Doing X requires you to do Y first, but when you try to do Y, it tell you to do X first.
What I'm trying to achieve is to unlock my phone, debrand it, find a nice ROM (perhaps try Jellybean or Kitkat) and update the firmware to 3.3
So far, I've been able to HTC Dev unlock it, and apply S-Off. Now I'm trying to install Clockworkmod Recovery, but it says "You must root your phone. Superuser was not found".What the heck is rooting? What is Superuser? Is it the same thing? I tried to install SuperSU app, but it says your device must be rooted so I guess not! How the heck do I root my phone?
Please, can someone walk me through this? Talk to me like I'm a dummy.
Thanks.
I think I've got it figure out now.
I have the ZTE Rapido Lte from straight talk and was wondering if anyone has found a way to root this phone yet. I have tried program after program and no avail. I am on android 4.1.2. Please any help would be greatly appreciated.
ZTE Rapido
I also just got this phone. I have been religiously trying different root methods. None have worked out for me. I've run out of answers. I imagine there is a dev out there somewhere trying to release a new rev of Framaroot that would cover this phone. As of rootandroid.com this is not rootable of yet. I am not used to having an unrooted phone and I hate not having root. I hope someone else replies so we aren't stuck in the grip and mercy of the manufacturer.
I just got one today, I tried a bunch of methods as well to no avail. If there is anyone that can help I can pull an image from the phone so that others with more technical expertise might be able to go over it and find a way to root it.
More specifically, what kind of image would be needed? Any statistical info is available on the manufacturers website. In the case of a system image, what process and software would be needed? i will image mine if I have a procedure to follow.
I'm very interested in this myself. I just got one a few days ago and am already missing my rooted and ROMed Droid X. Please someone save us.
Same here I have tried framaroot z4root towel root root master root genius poot and none worked. Someone please help

Damn.
I just bought this phone for my Mom--her first smartphone since Verizon is the only thing in her coverage area. She's having trouble with the ringtones being too flat and not loud enough on the device.
I was hoping someone would've figured out a root for this beautiful little prepaid ZTE so I could somehow increase her ringtone/alert volume level. Maybe I'll poke around with the phone next time I'm near it.
So far she can answer calls and get on Skype

Has anyone got root for ZTE Rapido LTE Z932L?
Any progress?
Just checking in to see if anybody had any progress on rooting the Z932L.
I haven't seen any posts online on any site of people making any progress or even talking about this phone anymore, but it would still be nice if it was rootable.
