Just curious , when flashing ftf if something goes wrong eg: usb disconnects , then it will result in partial flashing then it will results into hard brick or soft brick[emoji3]

It's about where the process was, if it disconnects during the system.sin (90% of the FTF is system.sin) you can simply reflash it. Dunno about when it happens during other parts.
I believe its a soft brick. Cos i have pulled the plug myself a lot of times during flashing. Since my X8. never have i faced any problems. I cant be so sure still!

I dont remember that! have done it a couple of times. It has never spoiled the show. But always after the first few seconds.

everything was normal but suddenly my phone reboot and i faced this problem
I think its from the operation system..
if it correct then u should to reset your phone or flashing a new firmware..
correct me if I'm wrong

It happened to m also...jus throw ur phone down on lock key or slightly hit lock key on wall...it will be fine...care centre said to m that its a kinda loose contact so after hitting phone on it is fine...

Lol, I think fit has defected hardware...
My power key has behaved this way twice...solved by dropping the phone...

try flashing some official stock roms...
hope it would remove that problem....

I dont get what you mean did you wipe user data in recovery or format system. have you tried to reflash stock.

They will repair if they doesn't know that phone has unlock bootloader..
OP already said his phone totally dead/no led,not turn on ..so if OP not tell them,sony will never know..

When they investigate the fault they will see the DRM keys are gone from unlocking the bootloader thats how they will tell
Also they keep ur imei number when you get the unlock key from their site.

I just got the OTA update to 11.2.A.0.31 ( I am on 11.2.A.0.21 CE version) and I downloaded it, pressed to install and then my phone shuts down, starts installing and after that the phone reboots and I get a notification say "could not install new software version. try again "
Does anyone know why that is?
Has it happened to any of you guys?

P.S- It's kinda weird when it installs because I keep getting black screens after it goes trough the steps and I'm pretty sure that it should not do that...

Yes, it happened to be because I swapped the internal memory with the SD card.

Ok I get that, but I did not do that.
I have the normal settings, I haven't made any changes to the vold.fstab .
So I'm guessing that's not why I get the error.

Just found out it's not just me. Someone else has the same problem.
But anyway I flashed back to ICS, rooted and saw that I have an OTA update straight to .31 version and it worked .
So I don't know what the problem was but I found a way around it.
Same problem in Xperia Z

The same thing is happening to my Xperia Z (C6602). The phone is not rooted. Any other alternatives for OTA other than PCC or SUS or flashtool? Or can anyone tell me why this is happening?

Normally, I would use flashtool, but the max internet speed at my current location is only 40 KB/s. It would take a long time to download the ftf file, which it's over 700 MB.

In all alternatives you must have internet connection to download update man I know that felling (when I'm on Holidays,and there's new update or new cm10)

Hi all Something has gone wrong with c2105 i was ota updating and the battery fell out because i diddn't have the back on. now it won't turn on or go into flashmode the only thing it dose when i connect it to my laptop it says found new hardwere "ZEUS flash device detected" then tries to install drivers but it just hangs is my Xperia L dead.

Oh **** dude, you know you're not supposed to do that. Sorry to say you might have permanently bricked (damaged your phone).
Does it recognize it using flashtool?

I have been trying but the only thing it will do is install ZEUS flash device drivers on my laptop but it won't go into flashed but the laptop bongs when I connect the usb

There is no log the phone won't go to flashmode must be an s4boot error @DooMLoRD is there a way to restore/repair s4boot for 2012+ Xperia's

Well try contacting Sony :L I hope your bootloader wasn't unlocked. If you can, just tell them, you left it charging during the night and now it wont turn on ;p

Did you flash boot.img for kitkat? You need to flash "system,"userdata" and "boot".

Ftf is only available for sony. You can't make one with you own files.

You have to wait just 5-8 minutes. Try doing a factory reset through recovery after flashing the rom.
