I'd love to see the opening credit graphics as a boot animation for nexus 5! I tried to make it myself but all I could do was convert the YouTube video into a boot animation,, which isn't full screen on the nexus 5

Everything is possible, but .....
960x540 PNG is approximately 30kb (if not a blank)
24 PNG per sec if you want quality
So for 30 sec video formats you bootanimation will be about 20 mb
why?
Its possible. I jad one some guy made for me when i had my droid x. Worked pretty well actually.
Basically there was a program that broke up a video frame by frame and he put it into the bootanimation. zip format

Any idea how to get any boot animations to work with sound? I'm currently using the Aperture Science logo (files are here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13409912&postcount=6) which works fine except the sound that comes with it doesn't play.
Does anyone know of any good boot animation with sound in general?

Just change the sound file..
System/media > "PowerOn.ogg"
Changing this file should fix as long as your ROM supports it

Really Great Improvments..
Love it.
I agree.
Afternoon all.
Recently got an upgrade and since I wasnt to fussed on the S5 I decided to get a Xperia Z1. .
Bad choice since id gotta used to samsung from S2 owned all S devices. . .so luckily i was given the chance to swap the xperia to a lovely note 3
I really like it and since the specs dont differ much from the upcoming S5 ( camera slighty better and 2.5 ghz instead of notes 2.3) its a good choice i feel.
What i have noticed is the pixel density is lower from S4 and S5 but i really dont see it the difference in fact the note 3 screen seems better?
Anyway sorry for long intro but when i play HD youtube or even the HD helicopter video included on phone i cant help but think the HD isnt as clear or good as the S4 . .
Could that be the pixel density or something else?
Cheers guys

Well YouTube HD movies are little pixelated, download it and play from any video player.

Youtube hd videos are highly compressed. So quality isnt that great
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
HD on Youtube isn't really HD. It's 'close enough to fool everyone who can't tell the difference between 720 and 1080'.
They've compressed the video so tightly it' s become blurry. You don't notice it on an s4 because the screen is much smaller.

The S4 or S5 have the same screen resolution as the note 3 but are considerably smaller in screen size. As the picture is spread out there will be some slight degradation in hd quality but not so noticeable as to be called bad...
Hey together, I hope it's the right thread for this ^^
I made a techno bootanimation and a shutdownanimation in qmg format incl. boot- and shutdownsound.
If you like Techno and got a rooted Samsung phone, give it a try
Just unzip the zipfile, transfer the qmg files to:
/system/media
The soundfiles to:
/system/media/audio/ui
Give the permissions (rw-r-r)
And reboot.
Hope you like it and please give some feedback
Can you please add pictures?
Sure, here you go
If you want to listen to the tracks:
Boot: Extrawelt - Zu Fuss
Shutdown: Cleric - Distant Cry
Nice! The image quality is a little bit low, is there a way to make it more sharp on boot?
I think so. I zoomed in too much. If I zoom a bit out, the quality should be better. I will take a look, when I'm awake enough to do such things ^^
