I have tried google music , power amp and many others. Personally I love the stock htc one.
I don't like signatures....
Google Music has worked well for me.

Google Music, followed closely by winamp.
The only thing I like about the stock HTC player is that you can operate it at lock screen and notification bar. Other than that it doesn't have anything else.

For music I am using Music 3.0, which has a background that changes colors randomly. Considering the market recognizes it as Google Music, I assume it is, even though it looks nothing like the one in the market. For video, I use MoboPlayer.

I use PowerAMP and love it, very good, customizable, great EQ with presets and the ability to make your own presets, and native FLAC support. I haven't used GoogleMusic though, I got an invite but it turns out Linux isn't supported yet and it's just too big of a pain to move my music from my laptop, I have over 100 gigs.

Have you tried installing through wine? ?
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
Yeah but I couldn't get it to work well. Wine and I have never been good friends lol. It's very few and far between that I even think about using it. I could probably get it to run ok if I spent long enough toying with settings but with PowerAMP and a 32gig SD card I'm happy enough with how much music I have. If i ever really want something of my computer I have a VNC server set up on it that I can retrieve files over.

it's a beauty! need to sort out the image quality with the album arts, do a dark theme and that's about it!
speed and fluidity is already incredible, and it's only v1.0!
Thnx for sharing....was waiting for long....but this totally screwed up all my album art for now....have to redownload everything frm d app......but dark theme was better....n see dat all does beautiful customisations have been removed.... ;(

I'm a bit disappointed ... The version 0.1 he released in January had tons of options while that one have none. I'm not fond of the white skin but that's just a mater of taste.
Dark theme, downloadable album and artist pics (in high quality!), and a better widget would be nice.
Quality of pics is not good...
But overall great player!!
Cm file Explorer next please

Love to see a full updated release.. turning on shuffle makes the song list unorganized while browsing... also scrolling through the album art or artist its slow rendering the pics
Apples iPhone, There's a patent for that. Solving lifes dilemmas one lawsuit at a time.
Super App..! Needs album art fix. I'm sold. Will ditch power amp if this comes out soon.
It's Time For The JOKER To Rise
Pretty darn good alraedy, and will only get better.
Ok so it needs:
Album art fix/ fetch manually
Index letters for fast browsing
A cache system or something so art work stays consistent when browsing
Ability to delete / edit songs
Stability and I'd pay any price.. I want to use this as my primary I love the theme... not many players look this good

It's awesome. I just wish it had a dark theme...
Otherwise, where does it fetch the artwork from? It's not always good and HQ in my case.
EDIT: It also seems like they managed to fix the terribly slow speed. It's way faster than the old CM9 Music player, especially after some time running.
wow really looks awesome! it looks exactly like the perfect music player for me, i searched for a long rime but never found :O

Also, give us the option to limit the library to certain folders. I hate when audio files from other apps and voice memos show up in my library.
Now that I have a high end phone, Sony delays ICS and I will have to wait. But based on comments, need some bug fixes. Gonna wait the GPlay version ( more features)

I'll keep power amp but hey, this player is very close to be better than power amp

Best Equalizer w/ Music Player out there

Cut that Beats crap, thats no where close to a real Eq. You want to hear what real music was supposed to be like?
You want a powerful music player that has equalizers for nearly every aspect of your song?
You want to get the recently released jetAudio app. This music player is the most feature packed one I've seen and tried yet.
It is a player that is for Windows and it was recently ported to Android.
I blast Dubstep though my headphones daily so I needed a nice Eq for that. This is the best sounding player I've seen in a while.
It supports nearly every format availible, has insane amounts of equalizers, can change the speed of song, different effects (crossfade, cut, etc), can post to twitter/facebook for what you are playing if you want, has some fancy animations and more.
If you are looking for a music player then use this one.
Play Store Link (free): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jetappfactory.jetaudio
It is currently recently released so it may have bugs. From what I've seen its working 100% though.
Also, if you want an ICS themed music player, check out the Apollo app from CM9 (google around to find the apk). It is awesome as well and is themeable (it only has a dark and light theme as of now though).
Thanks, great find! Looks nicer than PowerAMP.
Great!
Looks great, I'll definitely give this a try. I just wish they decided to use the Holo theme rather than going for a shiny-iPhone skin... but I'm OCD!
Any idea if the headphone controls actually work with our phone? I haven't had any success with even playing/pausing using any other headset :/
Anyone have any feedback as far as comparing this to poweramp+beats?
Sent from my HTC One XL using Tapatalk 2
Going to try it since you mentioned dubstep... I would of said dnb but dubstep works too

Wow, amaaaazing, how awesome that JetAudio Basic player is... (And for FREE! Not just 15-day-trial like PowerAMP free version... )
Get JetAudio Basic and rate it!
Anyone got an idea how to get a JetAudio Basic-widget on the homescreen? Like a mini-player with play/pause? :/
Loving the eqs on this, just wish it could work with my play music since I don't keep much music on the phone since no expandable SD card :/

Without BBE+ this player is not that great, however BBE Sound Inc. will soon come out with there own player app for Android soon, some time this year.

multi-window like on the Galaxy Note 2

If you guys haven't heard or seen, the latest firmware upgrade of the NOTE 2 allows for 2 applications to be on the screen at the same time which means you can interact with them. For example you can have a youtube video playing in one window and searching the web in another window.
I was just wondering, would this feature ever be cooked into a ROM?
The SkyRocket is a powerful device and should be able to handle such a thing.
Would definitely love this I am pretty sure its loaded into the os so I don't think it should be too hard to port it over. Only downpart would be the smaller screen but who cares? I would def use it in the car for my torque app and spotify or navi

I would rate this as the #1 feature that I want to see in any rom. As this video shows, it's actually Really useful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-G-avtGf0A

Cyanogenmod was considering something like this on ICS with CM9 (see example here) . They were talking about adding a similar service called "Cornerstone" by Onskreen, but the idea was shot down by threats from Google of "consequences" if CM implemented it on any devices that Google supported (see comment to Steve Kondik from Dianne Hackborn here).
I hope this means Google(Android) realized that it was dumb to prevent this as it was an inevitability and CM will now be able to get back to work on implementing it.
I've downloaded the video player from the apps section that allows a floating video window over the top of everything else that came from the s3. Works good.

The multi-window feature on the Note 2 is more powerful, check out the youtube video (mentioned above) to see how it works. It's awesome, a killer must have feature, really.

Music App for Nexus 5?

What's everyone using for their music app on their N5? I'm coming from an SGS3 and really don't like Google Music. I'm also hoping to be able to play occasional .flac files. Anyone have a suggestion?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I've used Player Pro for a couple of years, and always been quite happy. Great sound with the DSP pack addon installed, and a good number features.
I haven't used it for. flac files, but have been told that the DSP pack enables support for these.
I have also used PowerAmp, but in the end have preferred the interface and sound quality of Player Pro.
Caveat: As with most, I just got my Nexus, so I've really only had one opportunity to play music.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Power Amp, it has all the features you could ever need and great Dev support.

Shuttle+ REALLY impressed me. Love that app, dev is really active and supportive, too.
Worth. EVERY. Cent.
Now playing is a pretty decent bare bones music player that's very nexusy

I actually live Google Music because I prefer their music streaming service.

Agreed. Finally a music app that looks good and doesn't have annoying quirks.
Playerpro together with ios7 holo skin. The best.
poweramp
Is the built in player too bad? I used Apollo on my old Cappy.
I ended up pulling the music.apk from AOSP 4.4 and I'm really liking it and the lock screen widget but the lack of a home screen widget really sucks. Its got a pretty respectable eq as well. I'll have to give some of the mentioned ones a go.

I've noticed a huge improvement in the sound quality through my earpiece when using googles play music on this device. In past android devices the sound quality has always sucked and I've used power amp as a slightly better option. On the n5 tho, the sound is incredible. Mind you, I'm using a high quality earpiece but I used the same ones on many of my android devices (and I've had MANY) and the n5 has a much better sound quality. Just my two cents. Don't need another player in this device. Besides, the cloud is nice. I have a ton of music on it & so it doesn't take up my storage space.

I hear ya on the underground thing, but for those without those issues, play music is nice. What's greatest to me is being able to upload 20,000 of your own songs (takes a while tho). Works everywhere on everything with an internet connection...

What's streaming like on battery? I read the n5 has something to take the strain off battery when streaming
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Google Music works excellent for streaming or on device(MP3) music. No real reason for me to use any other player.
