No time stamp in call history - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Rooted, s-off off, flashed clean Rom.when I look at my call history it will only give me the time I called if it's the same day; otherwise it just tells me the day I called, even if I choose the contact and look at the history.is there a way to change this?

Can't send texts after root

So I just got my Nexus S 4G two days ago and I rooted it yesterday, after a few issues. Since then I haven't been able to send texts. I hit send and the little circle just keeps going round and round. Help!
Rooted and installed a ROM? Or are you on stock ROM? Did you install any kernel?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G
I only rooted, nothing else. I just unrooted and re-rooted using the One Click method. I can now send texts and I'm putting all my data back onto the phone and trying again, to see if it's something else..
i think your SMS center number is just left blank
on the dialer type *#*#4636#*#* then select "Phone information" then scroll down to SMSC and click REFRESH if it's blank then you should contact your operator and get the SMSCenter number and fill it there hope it helps
Edit:Oh nvm just saw u got it working ...
irizwan - Actually earlier today I flashed the Carbon ICS ROM and texting was working fine, then I went to work and about an hour ago I sent my first text since I started work and it wouldn't work. I did what you said and the space is blank, now I need to know what my operator is so I can fix this. Thank you for that info!
Shauna, try updating your prl and profile under about phone. That may help. I can't speak to the smsc but mine is blank and I have no issues sending or receiving texts.

Where do I find that? I looked in the testing thingamabob and all there is is Phone Info, Battery Info, Usage Statistics and Wifi Info. Under Phone Info there's nothing that says prl and profile.
I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I do remember it working before I opened up Autostarts and pretty much killed the startup of all the apps. Maybe I killed the wrong app/system thingy. Idk. Anyway, re-flashing ROM and not touching Autostarts this time. Hopefully this'll help.
Sorry, you should be able to update those in settings - about phone - sprint system updates. Also, you shouldn't worry too much about killing apps from starting or running. That shouldn't stop you from sending texts though. It would easily keep you from receiving texts tho if you killed messaging.

hmm when i had problems sending Txt's i read from somewhere that you have to take your operator smsc and convert it to hex or binary I don't remember but it was something like that not actually hex something else which i don't remember sorry after conversion i filled my smsc then hit "update" thats it =]
Edit : Ok i searched and found that you need to convert your SMSC number into PDU format heres a link to do it http://rednaxela.net/pdu.php
Hope it helps
Edit2: if that doesn't work for you .. you can flash MIUI and you can set the SMSC number in the settings menu =]
Hmm, that would be the first time I've ever heard of that. Op are you using the stock messaging app? When you say you can't send, what exactly are you seeing to indicate this? Are you on the latest radio?

For me, it is found here:
Home Key -> Menu -> Settings -> About Phone -> Sprint System Updates
If not on Sprint, may be slightly different.
Thank you both for the replies. I haven't done anything with Autostarts and I haven't had a problem with texting sooo I'm not sure what the problem was.

SMS not showing notifications

The last few days I haven't been getting any notifications of sms. I am on stock 1.73, no root, stock sense sms app. No other sms apps installed. It's getting really frustrating when the wife texts me and I don't get it (and even more frustrating for her). I've checked all the notification settings and they're all checked.
Any thoughts on what to do? I think I'm just going to take it back to att and swap it out for a new one.

My first One X did that. I replaced it and my new one notifys me every time.. Return it.

Do you by any chance have the Visual Voicemail app running (either the market or the XDA hacked version). It was preventing my sms form reliably notifying me (about half of the time). Removed, and fixed.
Did you check the settings in the SMS app itself? There are seperate ones for SMS if you go messages>menu>settings>notifications

Uninstall and should fix your problem. At least that was my solution .
Go to SMS settings the notifications check vibrate on receive.

I just uninstalled my visual voicemail and will see if that helps
My wife and I each have this phone, and we both downloaded VVM app. After a few days I decided to uninstall mine but my wife kept hers, and she isn't getting (or randomly gets) sms notifications. I get all notifications promptly. I am going to uninstall VVM and see if that works. Also both phones are stock and not rooted.
Have this problem as well but don't have the VVM app. Stock 1.7, no root or unlock, no secondary sms apps.

Mine seems hit and miss. Sometimes there will be the flashing light. Sometimes there won't. I just turned on the vibrate when received option to see if that will affect it any.

It's been a while - did uninstalling VVM work for you?
I installed VVM from the .apk that was floating around and she has issues with missing SMS notifications. She'd much rather have accurate notifications than VVM.
Does uninstalling after you've set VVM up have any ill effects? Does traditional voicemail still work OK?
Thanks,
-Brett.
Hey everyone having this issue - I have had this REALLY frustrating issue, with no solution found (and Telstra unable to provide help), so I widened my search to all phones. It appears to be an even bigger issue with some WP7.5 phones if that makes you feel better.
Anyway, what the issue seems to be is as follows:
The SMS message is sent from the carrier and received perfectly according to their reports, and in actual fact it is received perfectly, but here's the catch:
Messagebank does not receive a NEW message, it UPDATES the existing SMS you probably have in your phone!
SOLUTION: It's not a great one, but if you DELETE the Messagebank SMS text message thread every time you have received one and checked the voicemail, the next voicemail you receive will notify you properly as every other SMS does.
Hope this helps someone until a better solution is found (auto-delete voicemial texts anyone?).
Why are you guys still on 1.73?
This got fixed (along with lots of other things) ever since I upgraded to 1.85. If you don't want to upgrade for whatever reason, I heard some people used GoSMS instead and that worked.

wired issues!

I have couple of wired issues with my Samsung Galaxy S 3
SMS Notifications:
Sometimes, not always, only sometimes, I get an SMS but no notification is given. No statusbar notification and no sound/viberate notifications.
Nothing at all.
When open my SMS app, I can then see there is one unread message.
I even have reminder of unread messages which it remindes me of unread messages every 10mins., not even this notify me of these messages.
Does anyone have this issue?
Bluetooth headset:
Sometimes, when I start talking using my Jabra headset, all of sudden, there no more sound on it, then I need to press the button on the phone saying headset to switch back to phone and again press headset to switch again to headset, then it works.
Sometimes I have to switch between phone and headset once to get it to work, others, It happens every minute in a conversation so I need to switch between phone and headset everytime.
Anybody have such issues?
A bit more information about your setup would help us help you. Are you stock or running a ROM? How long has the text message thing been going on?
I bet the messaging problem is a network issue. It will probably go away in a day or less.
BTW wired means something uses a cable, opposite of wireless. Weird is synonymous with strange or bizarre.

hehe meant Weird, typing mistake, but this is not my problem right now
info:
I contacted my network and they could see that the phone failed to retrieve few messages, so they could see that the problem is with my phone.
Android version: 4.1.2
I am using the stock sms app.

I guess i should.
But it is not rooted.
I am suspecting browsertexting app that does something. So I have now removed it and trying again.
But that for the SMS, not bluetooth problem.

[Partially solved][Q] Couple of strange problems...

Hey guys I'm having a few issues with my phone and if anyone has had these problems before and have any fixes.
I'm running Cyanogen 2013-02-01 with stock kernel
1. I seem to be having problems with sending mms messages when over wifi. Now with this though, I can perfectly send them over 4g etc. If I happen to turn turn wifi ON I have to go into recovery and wipe the cache and dalvik cache before I can send a mms again over 4g, otherwise it might take a day or three to send the message.
2. Having strange thumbnail previews of pics as you can see in the pic. But this is also going on on my desktop after uploading the photos from say dropbox or anything. This doesnt happen to every photo but it's irritating because it will cover the view of the photo I may want to view.
pic url too: https://www.dropbox.com/s/u7trfxtf2zus4ir/2013-06-16 18.30.42.png
If anyone has any ideas or solutions aside from flashing (personal reasons about backing up) I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks!
Figured I would update the OP;
Partially Solved - The thumbnail icons was partially solved by doing quite a bit more digging and found that I should delete the thumbs.db file in the DCIM folder. I did that and only a few images were fixed. Also the MMS seems to be fixed as I believe it had probably been a bad flash because I did get the time to do my OCD backups and reflash/restore what I needed to so a fresh flash seemed to do the trick for now. Thanks for the info guys!
You cannot send mms over wifi. Mms will always be sent using data. Even if you are on wifi, data needs to be toggled and you will see the 4g icon appear as the message sends even while you're connected to a wifi network
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
That helps a bit, but I have data still toggled on and still doesn't send. :/
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
That's weird. Cm7 was always nice to me with Mms as long data was toggled. Have you checked apn settings?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Cyanogenmod uses its own custom messaging app. To restore mms over wifi, you need to flash the stock one. It should be available in the CM7 topic, maybe hellfire phoenix.

I haven't had any types problems regarding data/call/cell etc. So I didn't think of that. I'll double check them.

I should of also mentioned I use the Handcent app for messaging and such and never had this problem before. I remember back in old threads something about mms and wifi being a problem at one point but didnt think that would apply to CM by now. I'll go back and do some searching see if there is a fix.
maybe try the go sms app. and try checking the option for it to handle all your sms stuff. its the option you check if youve uninstalled your stock sms app. because it might just be a bug in the stock sms app.

[Q] Vocalized notifications... how did these start?

Not sure how else to describe it, but out of the blue my phone has been "saying" that I have new emails, or telling me who is calling or sending me texts, based on the name I have for them in my contacts. Female robo-voice, and its actually better than I would have assumed at deciphering some odd spellings for people's names...
Nevertheless I didn't enable this. It randomly started happening within the last month, and I am beyond trying to find what the source may be. Can't find a setting for this anywhere. I imagined it had something to do with the talkback service, but I have that disabled...yet it continues. No new apps in months, and I am on stock 4.1.2.
Anyone familiar with this, and have a way to put an end to it?
Check here: Settings/Accessibility and tap "Text to speech output." Then turn off Driving Mode if its enabled.
