am tryi g to take part in the development of this rom but because i am new to the forum, i am not allowed to post replies. Just to explain to Darkman that the new rom does not install on aroma using TWRP but does install on Philz. Having installed I discovered that the wifi is detected but cannot connect. I had to revert to 4.1.2. Did someone experience the same problem on gt n8000? Will there be a new version of this rom with a working WFI

I have just installed stock 4.4.2 on a GT-N8000, but, I cannot enable WiFi as the WiFi toggle button always stays "OFF"
I tried wiping cache, factory reset etc. I just don't want to revert to 4.1.2. If I find a way to get it to work I will post it here. If somebody else knows the solution, please share with us.
Thanks.

Hi. I'm new here. Idk much.
So basically i owned a galaxt tab 2 7.0 gt p3110. i've flash custom rom pac rom 4.3 and i find it abit laggy. So i decided to flash stock rom 4.2.2 with mobile odin. After its done flashing. It needs to setup the tab. After pressing start on the "select language" a message popup saying "unfortunately, Samsung setupwizard has stopped" . Can anyone help me with this? I've been searching for the solution but all i see is something needs to be done with cwm recovery while i'm only having stock recovery.

I looked up the problem and some people bypassed it by swipping up from the bottom(sounds werid I think they might mean the status bar) and going to settings enabling WiFi will bypass it.
Edit: oh your on stock right now,vi think it might be a bad flash otherwise you need to ask your tablets official forum, this looks like a problem only they can fix if its on stock. Sorry for the misread.

Hi XDA,
Can anyone help?
I upgrade my Android 4.1.2 to 4.4.2 on n8010 using a firmware i find on the samsung updates website.
I flash it with mobile odin pro.
The firmware got installed correctly the only problem is my wifi button is not working. When trying to put it "on" state, it goes back to "off" state
Things that i already tried but failed to activate my wifi:
(Btw those are the solutions proposed on several websites)
1.Factory reset
2.Playing with the wifi button several time
3.Whack the n8010 at the back
4.Playing with wifi .conf file on my android using Total Commander
5.Turn it off for several minutes
6.Turning off everything including my router
I am considering of flashing a rom so that i get my wifi back.
But before i do that can someone help me find a solution to the wifi problem because i dont want to flash a rom??
But in case that the only option can anyone recommed me what roms is best to flash on n8010.
OR Maybe i should sell it since without wifi its useless.
Thanks in advance

You Can instan only by ODIN and PC.
You need the new bootloader in order to have a fully working 4.4.2 version by sammy, and mobile odin doesn't flash it, and like HUNited said you need to use the pc version of odin.

Hi, how do we get new bootloader and how do we replace it?
In my case bootloader is blocked on N8010ZCCMH1, this is china version and makes upgrade over pc odin impossible beside 4.1.2 and when I do the update to 4.4.2 over the mobile odin the WiFi is stuck.I have the exact same issue..
As far I understand, the bootloader is the key.But I was not be able to change it to any european version, any help regarding this issue will be highy helpful.
Thank you.

Update: Did you wait for the all the apps to install? I mentioned this is 2 places: 1) On the XDA web page 2) at the end of the user-selectable install (in the Aroma installer). You have to wait for the system to auto reboot before you manually reboot. Apps are being installed during and after the initial ROM setup. It can take up to 5 minutes for the apps to install depending on how many you selected. The apps are really installed using Android Package Manager (pm) - this is to get a good clean install of the selected apps.
Update 2: Check this link out - may help with wifi passwords => Lost Wifi password after reboot
Hope it helps.
Did you do a data wipe before installing ROM? If not, I would suggest you do a wipe then install the ROM to see if it saves Wifi passwords after reboot. All my testing has been done this way.
I had the same thing , but first just did not work wi-fi , and then began to turn off when you set up Google account.

Hello gcrutchr
Thank you for the p901 rom.
It works great. I don't have any Wifi password problem or camera problem till I installed.
But as I hardreset my sm-p901 wifi & 3G (actually it's sm-p902 model in Turkey) I lost the original p901 kernel. So I installed p900 kernel and craftwork rom for p901. Because of that I can see the mobile data icon but when I push the mobile data button it says no sim(a working data sim is inserted by the way). This is because the kernel for p900 that I have to install . There are no stock or custom kernels for p901 on the internet. So is there any chance that you can develop a p901 stock kernel OR is there any way that I can enable the 3g Mobile data in the kernel for p900.

Unfortunately, I am not a kernel developer. The only thing I can do is provide a stock kernel fo XXUANK2. All I have done to the kernel is add a few lines to the ramdisk for superuser functionality. If you want to try a stock kernel (no mods), let me know and I will package an installable stock P901 kernel.
901 kernel
If you can provide stock kernel for p901 that would be great.
If you can make recovery flashable kernel that's enough for me. I only need to work 3g. other parts of your rom works great

Attached is a stock P901 kernel which you can install through recovery.
Note: you will lose root with this kernel - but - you can use Chainfire's SuperSu v2.40 to get root back.

Hi!
I need help regarding my phone Sony Xperia Z3 D6653 - I followed the procedures properly on how to unlock and root the phone via

and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/orig-development/d66xx-cwm-based-recovery-6-0-4-7-root-t2890116
it went well with no errors at all but after the reboot and flashing SuperSU, the wifi won't turn on anymore, I tried everything in the advanced options on wifi but it didn't make any difference at all, Bluetooth, LTE and Mobile Data Works fine, also tried wiping data (factory reset the thing) but still no dice.. please help... thanks!
Edit:
Even the Wifi hotspot doesn't work, my only option left is to flash it back to stock rom
I have the exact same issue. Followed the same processes and with no funny vibrations or anything but WiFi won't turn on.

Do a full reflash of ROM with flashtool. It should fix it.
As i know, kernel handle the wifi, and if something is wrong in kernel this happens.
Since you are lockedbootloader if i am correct, i dont know why it has this behaviour.
But anyway, backup your things, and do Full reflash, let me know.
You said you are unlocked. Flash another kernel and test it.

There is a few things u can do. Custom ROM and Kernel and recovery. Which I prefer to do. If you just want to remove the bloat download titanium backup
What are you looking for in a Rom? Better ?? Better ?? More memory and performance?

Well its taken me awhile but ive got time to do some time finally.. i put alliance rom on the phone but when i tried to make a phone call the was no sound on either end of the conversation.. is this a kernal issue?
think this is the best rom arround here alexis rom best battery ad performans

Just tried the Alexis Rom and same thing.. stuck on boot. I reinstalled Alliance hoping for diffrent results.. can text message but no audio during a calls.. ugh! Back to stock again lol..
Provider - Telus
S6 920w8
Stock Android version - 5.0.2
Stock Kernal 3.10.61-4808800
I am using TWRP v2.8.6.0 and am wondering if the version or kernal may have anything to do with getting stuck on boot with almost every ROM i've tried to install..
My procedure when installing a custom ROM is to do a factory reset from TWRP (i dont do data or format because there is no sd card slot to store my rom or backup image), install ROM, clear cache/divik, reboot to system.
Any Ideas??

Reflash any ROM giving you sound issues and then flash either hacker kernel or arter kernel as they are the only two compatible as far as I know. Once you have flashed arter kernel and then rebooted your phone. Reboot your phone back into recovery once more and then flash this https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4Gyz91x5k7gc2NBS2N5TFQwY0k/view?usp=drivesdk it is the call audio fix for our devices (925T / 925W8)
(920T / 920W8)
Just make sure you DO NOT FLASH THIS BEFORE DEVICE REBOOT AFTER FLASHING CUSTOM KERNEL. Or you will get into a bootloop and say this doesn't work. (Your system needs to build with kernel settings first)
Here's a step by step I hope helps.
1. Flash custom ROM
2. Flash custom kernel
3. REBOOT
4. Set up ROM.
5. Reboot into recovery.
6. Flash call fix.
7. REBOOT
8. Profit.
Hope it helps you and welcome to making your phone truly yours.
---------- Post added at 01:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:39 PM ----------
Another reason why you are not booting is because you are on 5.0.1
You will have to update the bootloader to MM 6.0 first in order to use 6.0 custom ROMs this can be achieved by flashing any of our latest Canadian firmwares. (Does not matter what company if you are changing FW after.)
ALSO you can use the advanced wipe settings on TWRP to wipe everything but 'internal storage' that is where the ROM is downloaded.
I had alot of issues installing custom ROM's.. so i decided to upgrade and install OEM marshmallow 6.0.1 then re-root my phone. It worked.. I'm running Griffin ROM atm but will play around with other roms now that i have a good idea of where i went wrong.

I do not. However I always have mobile data running, maybe toggle yours and see if it sends. Some of the new ROMS have incorporated a tweak that auto toggles data to recieve pictures and send them. Griffin AFAIK does not have this tweak yet so when sending MMS you need to manually turn mobile data on and off.
