Need help to make this pop out disappear - Verizon HTC One (M8)

There is this pop out that keeps on popping every 15 sec and it's annoying I can use my phone. It pops out when the screen is off or on.
And I also think that it's a screensaver or a docking mode

There is no dust in the headphone jack and charging port.

Mine started doing this today. When it does it I get a little notification to click here to return to dock mode. Then it pops back to normal mode.
It is extremely frustrating.
Now the home screen rotates and I can't stop it from doing it (turning off auto rotate does not work) and it also will launch into speakerphone when I am in the middle of a call.
Any ideas? (Other than a factory reset)
Attached is what shows up in my notification bar when the screen goes to what you see in the picture from OP..

Think I figured this out.
It is the dock app. But it is not in the app drawer.
If you go to App Manager under settings, then switch to the view of "All" and look for Dock. Disable it and re-boot.
Apparently, according to a knowledgeable guy at the V store(yes they are a few), there is a magnet in the phone that when it is activated will enable Dock mode. So when you place it in a dock it activates.
Well a few days ago I bought some magnetic signs and I bet I bumped into one of them. Disabling will prevent that **** from happening in the future.

[Q] amazon dock

anyone try this out yet? if not mine is on its way.

This is the same dock as Kidigi, but unbranded. Ebay had this same thing for $17.50 with free shipping. See the other thread. I already got mine.
Do you like it? I used a gift card to buy it.

Yeah its perfect. It does the job. The only thing I wish is that it went to dock mode automatically. I ended up just putting a shortcut on my home screen, but if it went in/out of dock mode it would have been nice.
I'm going to use it in my car. My sensation doesn't have a dock mode. Or even car home. Weird?
So I found the stock mode but it is hidden in the phone and I can't force it to launch.

I have the Kidigi dock and I have solved the dock launch issue by downloading "Plug In Launcher" from the Android Market, the free version allows you to set an app to launch when it is plugging in.
Hope this helps
It's not unbranded. Has a RND logo on the front.

Anyone buy the bundle pack for RAZR hd?

Hi, I love this phone. I have a nexus I now use for my crack-flashing addiction. Picked up a RAZR Jazz HD for the fantastic battery life (hard to believe its going to get better). I bought the desk/car bundle and my phone is acting weird in them when I use the ESP cable on the desk and all the time in the car dock. The car mode never deactivates after I take it out... And goes into charging fits when I do plug in a USB cable. On the desk dock my alarm never went off and I was almost late for work after doing some creative morning rituals to make it on time. I know this isn't "normal" just trying to see if anyone else has experienced this as well or if they think it could be my phone since its happening to 2 different accessories.

I've had the same issue, but only for a while. I'm used to CarHome Ultra, because I've had it for quite a while now and prefer it better than stock. I can tell you to make sure that you undock your phone and make sure that the steering wheel icon goes away. Sometimes I got out of my jeep and made it to the house, before I realized it was still running and had to go all the way back to reinsert/remove it in order for car mode to exit correctly.
As far as the alarm clock issue; I've never experienced your complaint. Make sure that you have your "Alarm volume" turned up in sound settings. Just because you use the phone volume up or down buttons to make your volume where you want it, it does not adjust the alarm, bluetooth or media volumes at all.
I hope this helps you out.

Thanks. I was going to go to the store and test the dock on the floor unit in the store. So how do I disconnect from car mode. I can't get out of out. I usually just reboot the phone when I get home our to work. I'll try the other car home app, but I'm really liking the stock one as is.

Well, if it doesn't exit once you put the phone back into the dock and then removing it again, you might try "clear data", then "force stop" in settings.
Has anyone seen any black Friday deals on this bundle?

Screen digitizer weirdness

So every once in awhile my phone will start scrolling in-app. At first I thought maybe it was just oils on the skin, like some hp laptop touchpads, but after a while I disproved this. Now the real weird thing is that if I shut the screen off the come back to the app it stops. I'm thinking maybe something to do with sudden changes in ambient temps. Any thoughts?

I have the same issue, was really bad this weekend when it was near 0 and I was outside. same thing where I shut screen off and back on and then it seems OK.

Same here has done it since day one not very often but out of the blue screen acts up. I have watched it move icons on homescreens around before. But turning screen off then on stops it

Sometimes happens on mine, but only when using a high amperage charger or there are water drops on the screen (from rain).
Sent from my XT897 using Tapatalk 2
Add me to the list. Mine has done it a handfull of times but turning the screen off then right back on has always corrected it.
Very odd.

Happens to me a lot when it's freezing outside. On/Off cycle fixes it
So my question now being, if we can assume its temp related, could this be solved by a patch to adjust based on ambient temps, or is that in the proprietary driver for the touch panel?

I notice it happens to me if I get the screen wet at all.
As stated, turning the screen off/on fixes it.

[Q] Erratic Ghost Touches

Has anyone had a problem with their nexus 5 where the screen would randomly start pressing things? It usually happens multiple times and is very erratic. Contacted Google and will send back for a replacement just wondering if anyone else is having this issue.
Yap, me too.
Had it a while back but it seems to have stopped.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Never anything like that but what I have done a few times is my palm touches the bottom right of the screen when I reach for the top left corner while right handing it. Coming from an iPhone so I guess it took a bit to get used to the larger screen
I requested for a replacement to Google Play this morning. They send it this evening. I should
get my replacement early next week. Good service I would say.
I'm glad I'm not going crazy! This is happening to me too! Is there any way to resolve this without having to go through the RMA process?
Only While Charging
I'm getting some erratic touch behavior, but only when the phone is charging. I take it off the charger and it seems fine.
I'm not getting total phantom behavior, but when I swipe from home screen to home screen, sometimes an app will get activated. Same with pulling down the notification area.
It makes me think there's a charge leaking through to the display components somehow.
I'm going to give it a week and then RMA it if it doesn't go away.
I have it too
I have it too but only when I connect my USB to the computer...
It's sucks cos I'm an app developer...
Is there any fix for that?

Sounds like a dodgy USB cable or port.
Same issues with my Nexus 4
I notice my issue is mostly when my phone is charging or when I'm using my mobile hotspot. Tends to get extra warm when im using both. Which leads me to believe its an overheating issue (the heat is throwing off the digitizer causing it to maybe think its being touched?) Is anyone else noticing the same?
Yes, but only while on wireless charger and even then only sometimes.
I take it off, push power button twice and it's gone.
I'm also experiencing this if my Nexus 5 is charging using the original Wall charger and cable.
Still no fix for this? Really annoying, I need to unplug my phone to the charger so that I can use it again normally
Same issue here

[Q] Keyboard always registers as open?

I recently had the pleasure of looking at my Photon Q to find a mess of cracks in what had previously been a pristine display. I have no idea how it happened, since the phone had been in my pocket for about ten minutes while I was shopping and it definitely wasn't cracked before that. My only guess is that I bumped into something while I was shopping. I'm guessing this detail is irrelevant, but I'm including it in case it's of-interest.
I've done replacement surgery on phones before, and I was in no mood to do it again so I took it to a local shop. They managed to replace it, but when it came back from the shop it was stuck in landscape mode. I checked out the accelerometer with Z-DeviceTest and it seems to be just fine. It seems like the logical culprit is that the phone always thinks the slider keyboard is open, even when it's not. I don't know how to test for this, though, and I haven't been able to find a Google search incantation that tells me anything of interest.
So my questions are: Does my diagnosis seem plausible? How does the Photon Q detect when they keyboard is open or closed? Is this something that probably got borked in the process of disassembly/reassembly? The phone is going back to the repair guy shortly because he also broke the earpiece speaker and he needs to replace it (at no charge, of course), and I demonstrated the won't-do-portrait-mode problem to him before I left the shop. Is there something along the line of "make sure that you screw the flibbertywidget into the whoozamawhatzit" information that I can give him?
Thanks in advance!
Am running cm11 and there is an option in system; dispay; to set 90,180 degrees etc.

Nah, when the keyboard is recognised as open, auto-rotate won't work.
A possible workaround is to use a terminal command to simulate keyboard open/close, but I'm not sire if it would work. I'll post the command later.

Thanks, both of you. I've confirmed my diagnosis, I think-- I've noticed that the keyboard backlight stays on even when the keyboard is closed.
Think that's normal, I us backlight off app to turn it off.
If you paid good money to get your phone fixed, may take it back and make them do it right?

In adb shell:
Code:
dumpsys window | grep mLidState
mLidState=1 means that hw keyboard is out (at least the lid sensor says so)
mLidState=0 hw keyboard is hidden

That's certainly not normal, keyboard backlight is automatically turned off when the keyboard is hidden.

Solution
This problem is caused by a small magnet being removed during repair. The magnet isn't held in place by screws or tape or anything, it just sits in a small open space between the sliding keyboard tray and the LCD display layers of the phone. The location of the magnet is on the right side of the phone if you are looking at it up-right and about an inch below the volume buttons. Without this magnet the phone thinks the keyboard is out the entire time and the screen won't rotate. Replacing the magnet requires nearly complete disassembly. I've found you can save several minutes and a headache by taking the phone apart until you get to the sliding keyboard tray and taking off the 6 or so screws on the right side, then lifting the right side several millimeters and popping the magnet in from there. This way you won't have to take off the touch screen digitizer and other fragile ribbon cables. Once the sliding keyboard tray is re-attached with screws the magnet can't go anywhere. Good Luck.
