[Q] amazon dock - HTC Sensation

anyone try this out yet? if not mine is on its way.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0055J9MYQ

This is the same dock as Kidigi, but unbranded. Ebay had this same thing for $17.50 with free shipping. See the other thread. I already got mine.

Do you like it? I used a gift card to buy it.

Yeah its perfect. It does the job. The only thing I wish is that it went to dock mode automatically. I ended up just putting a shortcut on my home screen, but if it went in/out of dock mode it would have been nice.

I'm going to use it in my car. My sensation doesn't have a dock mode. Or even car home. Weird?

So I found the stock mode but it is hidden in the phone and I can't force it to launch.

I have the Kidigi dock and I have solved the dock launch issue by downloading "Plug In Launcher" from the Android Market, the free version allows you to set an app to launch when it is plugging in.
Hope this helps

It's not unbranded. Has a RND logo on the front.

Home Cradle

Has anyone heard anything new about the Galaxy S home cradle that got pulled from Samsungs website? I'd really like one for the Epic
I have a rumored Manufacture's number also: ECR-P968BEGSTD
Hotness! Are there any other cradles available? I want one now! haha
That one wouldn't work for the epic anyway as the USB and headphone jacks are reversed, not to mention that the phone is also probably too wide. I hope Samsung supports this phone, but I'm thinking its too different from the others to support it on its own.

Buzzkill...but yea youre right, hopefullly samsung will push out some carrier specific accessories
There will be a home cradle for the epic. I am not asking you to believe me but you will on August 31st. Is it an app that you have to download to get that homescreen, clock, weather, etc?

The phone switches to dock mode automatically when you dock it, so no, you will not need any additional software
I bought one of these today when I got the wife an epic. Its a Samsung original accessory. Fits fine. Charges fine. WON'T go into landscape. I hope it can be fixed via a software update. Was 39.99 and came with a wall charger.
Needless to say I'm disappointed.

Me too! I was just looking to see if anyone else has this problem. Damn, they better fix it or I want my 40$ back!
Oh wow, we are retarded lol. I looked in the box and there is an instruction manual that says go to the Market and download Dock Home Samsung lol.
Works like a charm now!
Love the dock... one thing though. Is anyone else's turning the volume to zero if you tap it while its connected? the icon takes up a huge chunk of the screen and doesn't go away until i pull it off the dock and put it back in. So far, thats my only annoyance.
hows the sound quality and volume

Yes... that happened with mine, too. The indention for the volume keys isn't deep enough, I guess... I fixed it by putting a bit of black electrical tape along the bottom of the rest of phone's groove -- just the part to the right of the indention for the volume keys. It's worked great since.
I covered that annoying blue light while I was at it, too.

I did the same and it is not changeing volume any more. as well the audio out does not work until froyo is released. it states it in the little inserts that come with it. so basicly it is just a nice charging dock for now...
i got this with my Epic and i absolutely love it . by far the best accessory for a phone since the palm pre touchstone.

ive found the best way to dock it with out activating the vol down button is to place it on the dock while the screen is off. the volume buttons wont work till its back on, and it comes on when it connects to the charging port.
I returned this since it doesn't work with a case.. Thanks for making me waste 39.99 Samsung. >_>

Remind me how Samsung made you waste 39.99 if you returned it? Something doesn't compute there.
Anyone know where you might get one of these since they are no longer on Samsung?

Anyone buy the bundle pack for RAZR hd?

Hi, I love this phone. I have a nexus I now use for my crack-flashing addiction. Picked up a RAZR Jazz HD for the fantastic battery life (hard to believe its going to get better). I bought the desk/car bundle and my phone is acting weird in them when I use the ESP cable on the desk and all the time in the car dock. The car mode never deactivates after I take it out... And goes into charging fits when I do plug in a USB cable. On the desk dock my alarm never went off and I was almost late for work after doing some creative morning rituals to make it on time. I know this isn't "normal" just trying to see if anyone else has experienced this as well or if they think it could be my phone since its happening to 2 different accessories.

I've had the same issue, but only for a while. I'm used to CarHome Ultra, because I've had it for quite a while now and prefer it better than stock. I can tell you to make sure that you undock your phone and make sure that the steering wheel icon goes away. Sometimes I got out of my jeep and made it to the house, before I realized it was still running and had to go all the way back to reinsert/remove it in order for car mode to exit correctly.
As far as the alarm clock issue; I've never experienced your complaint. Make sure that you have your "Alarm volume" turned up in sound settings. Just because you use the phone volume up or down buttons to make your volume where you want it, it does not adjust the alarm, bluetooth or media volumes at all.
I hope this helps you out.

Thanks. I was going to go to the store and test the dock on the floor unit in the store. So how do I disconnect from car mode. I can't get out of out. I usually just reboot the phone when I get home our to work. I'll try the other car home app, but I'm really liking the stock one as is.

Well, if it doesn't exit once you put the phone back into the dock and then removing it again, you might try "clear data", then "force stop" in settings.
Has anyone seen any black Friday deals on this bundle?

I can activate car dock mode with a magnet. Back side of the phone, about a quarter inch off the right-hand edge (non-button edge), mid way between the Verizon and Motorola logos. Reverts back as soon as the magnet is removed. Haven't found a way to do this through software.

Need help to make this pop out disappear

There is this pop out that keeps on popping every 15 sec and it's annoying I can use my phone. It pops out when the screen is off or on.
And I also think that it's a screensaver or a docking mode

There is no dust in the headphone jack and charging port.
Mine started doing this today. When it does it I get a little notification to click here to return to dock mode. Then it pops back to normal mode.
It is extremely frustrating.
Now the home screen rotates and I can't stop it from doing it (turning off auto rotate does not work) and it also will launch into speakerphone when I am in the middle of a call.
Any ideas? (Other than a factory reset)
Attached is what shows up in my notification bar when the screen goes to what you see in the picture from OP..
Think I figured this out.
It is the dock app. But it is not in the app drawer.
If you go to App Manager under settings, then switch to the view of "All" and look for Dock. Disable it and re-boot.
Apparently, according to a knowledgeable guy at the V store(yes they are a few), there is a magnet in the phone that when it is activated will enable Dock mode. So when you place it in a dock it activates.
Well a few days ago I bought some magnetic signs and I bet I bumped into one of them. Disabling will prevent that **** from happening in the future.

need some advice, m8 and verizon issue

So have any of you had a problem with the M8 switching into dock mode randomly?
Mine has been doing this, first time it happend it only got stuck in dock mode for an hour or so. I charged the phone and it went away.
Then low and behold dock mode comes back with vengeance, and when it changes to dock mode it turns on the speakerphone. Which on the M8 we all know is wicked f'ing loud when you have it up to your ear.
So i was on the phone, dock mode kicks in, turns of the speaker, blows up my ear, and i drop my phone. The screen shattered into about 100 pieces. It was in a dot view case. This happened today.
I called verizon yesterday about the dock mode issue and they wanted me to do updates on the phone, when it was obviously a hardware issue. In order to replace it they said to bring it to the store. The verizon store doesnt open till 10am, seems weird they open so late. So i went to work, had to make a call then the above happened.
Verizon nor HTC will replace the phone because of the broken screen. I'm trying to argue this would have never happened if this phone didnt potentially blow out my ear drum.
What do you guys think? Any advice?
How long have u had ur M8? Have u tried contacting HTC?

since april 9 over 6 mo. HTC says they will fix the dock mode issue, but will give a price quote for the screen.
Depending on how much HTC charges I'll probably go that route

Htc had the screen replacement for free as a perk on the m8. In setup was a section about on last screen. HTC advantage I believe.

I think that was only for the first 6 months they would replace it free.
