I've extracted the framework-res.apk from a rom to change some images. Is it safe just to copy the new apk to system\framework, change permission and reboot?

Hello, you report on your instructions:
"1) SystemUI copy the system folder and Set the resolution"
What do you mean "set the resolution"? Would be to set the file permissions?
Thks...

Nice! Can you make one for kitkat?
HELLO XDAians,
Today I present to you HOW TO INSTALL [technically just copy and paste of few files] SETTINGS.APK.
I have a rooted s4 whose settings.apk was deleted by me due to my greed of getting the s5 like settings that another settings.apk promised.BUT IT DIDNT WORK!!!!
SO NOW I PRESENT U THE FIX :
1.Identify your device from cpuz or any other app or if u have a mtk clone device then connect it to MTK DROID TOOLS.
2.Download a rom for your device from any site (XDA is the best :good if it is original or download a rom from clonerom.com if it is fake.
3.After download u should have a .zip file .
4.open this rom.zip and go into system.ext4>system>app and extract the settings.apk and settings.odex to your desktop into a new folder.
5.If your luck is nice then just paste only settings.apk into your phone in the directory : Root(device)>system>app and set permissions to rw-r-r
6.Now reboot ur phone.
7.If u see a settings icon in the app drawer then hurray!!!
otherwise stay put!!!
8.Ultimate Deodexer by XDA Recognized Themer BDFreak IS A GReaT TOOL AND IT WILL COME HANDY NOW!!!
9.download it from here :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735156
10.Go into the root of ur phone and then into system .Now COPY the whole FRAMEWORK folder to ur pc (take itto ext. sd and then move it to pc)
11.Run Ultimate Deodexer and select only the settings.odex file (it will select the settings.apk if it is in same folder)
12.Select the path to the framework folder that u copied to ur pc earlier.
13.Select a output folder.
14.Click START
15.Voila!!,Now just copy this deodexed settings.apk into ur system>app folder of phone.
16.set the permissions to rw-r-r
17.Reboot and see the result
If it works for u then give me a Thanks and if not then just write about ur problem in the comments below!!

Hi Xda today i will show you how to change apps icons to marshmallow's one
First you will need X-Plore Apk And Solid Explorer Or any Root Explorer.
Second You Will Need Marshmallows icons pack i made them in two zips first zip for system apps and the second one for user apps.
Now open solid explorer and go to system/privapp or apps here you will find all system apps. In this tutorial i will theme stock music app that located in system/privapp in folder named as Smusic. Open the folder and copy the apk to any folder in internal storage. After that open x-plore apk and press on three dots and choose open apk as zip then go back and select the apk of music app then you will see two folders open the folder that named as "res" then scroll down until you see folder named as mipmap-xxxhdpi then open it and scroll down until you see the icon of music app then swipe from right to left to open another window and open the folder of icons you downloaded then find the new style music app icon and rename so it be same as the original one and then choose copy then overwrite. Repeat this steps with this following folders (mipmap-xxhdpi/mipmap-sw411dp-xxxhdpi). In Some apps you will find drawable folders so search in them for the icon and rename and copy and overwrite. Also some apps the icon will be in qmg format so just rename the new icon from png to qmg and replace.
After you changed icons take the new Smusic apk and go to System/Privapp and overwrite and dont forget to give prim R-W-R-R for the new apk then reboot.
You must search in all folders just to be sure that you replaced all icons.
ENJOY

Have made & edit system files to get the touchwiz style theme icons to fit our oppo f1 color os launcher and resolution of the screen, they require editing files in the system so root is required.
For just icons:
1. Using root file manager, navigate to /system/media/themes/default/
2. Back up the original ICONS file to external or wherever
3. Copy the attached ICONS file and set root permissions
4. Restart
MAKE SURE IN THEME MANAGER YOUR USING THE DEFAULT THEME

For expiremtal system theming
1. In the same folder copy & replace files in the attachment, do not delete or change com.oppo.launcher file, set permissions
2. Back up original files incase you dont like it
