[ROM][UNOFFICIAL] VanirAOSP 4.4.2 Galaxy S III I9305 LTE

Hi guys,
While surfing on the net i stumbled upon this rom, from which i had never before heard about!!
just wanted to let you all know..
All credit goes to Vanir team and CM11 for they are the bulk!
THE DOWNLOADS LIST SUPPORTS VARIOUS DEVICES!!
It's based on latest 4.4.2 KitKat and build from CM11 source.
some of the key features:
* halo 2.0
* PIE
* appbar
* freaking insane speed
* custom toolchains
* -O3
* OptiPNG
* bionic, krait, and dalvik performance commits
* -fstrict-aliasing
* custom CFLAGS
* Vanir performance on/off toggle
* UI mode switcher
* tablet statusbar split and compiled with GCC 4.8
* and many more..

Installation guide
- put the rom and gapps zip in SD card of your device
- boot into recovery mode (make a backup of your current rom RECOMMENDED!!) go back to main menu
- wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache
- select install zip from sd card find the rom and install
- after that, do the same for gapps
- reboot system!
If you want to go back to previous rom, boot into recovery select backup and restore choose backup in the list and restore.
As it is still in development, you may encounter some bugs and issues expected to be fixed as development progress towards better build!

yeah there seems to be a bootloop problem i can't get past the boot

flash a costum kernel then its boot. but then there are baseband problems and sound problems. i have reported this(on january) to the devs but still, no love for the i9305

the sound problem ca be fixed by changing the m0 file in system/etc/sound to m3 only the imei problem i cant fixed by myself :/

since i have not tried it yet i dont know. im trying to get in to the rom maybe you have some pointers?

it works with boefflla kernel boot succeeded, but no baseband :crying:
after doing a lot of research found nothing.
i think the reason that i cant get this to work on my device is related to some regional settings in the phone that dont match for the settings of my region, since the developer of this rom lives in US and i in europe, that also explains the fact that there is no baseband.
we will just have to wait i guess till the dev. can manage to make it work also here in europe.

I dont think there is a thread about this rom specifically for the I9300..
this is the one for I9305. if you want more info about your device specific rom i suggest you google it..
did you install this rom wihtout any sort of problems? does everything work well for the i9300?

Unfortunately I can not find the thread in XDA forum I-9300: (
The rom is very good, fast, stable work for me!
I really like the 3 in 1 ruins (PAC, AOSB), and this is now, too!
I use boeffla Kernel 2.2 Omni RC1 Now and stable.
Everything is working so far.
This ROM contains the properties (CM, OMNI, AOKP)?
Or is sorted on the basis of what?
Very similar to what has been AOSB hússzú time I use it without any problems.

Has anyone suceeded in making the baseband/imei/cell network work?

i flashed the latest recovery in the 1st post and the ROMs (dho and nuke), both of them sucked at boot logo. (the screen shows : Samsung Galaxy S III LTE GT-I9305)
I had my phone fully wiped. however, it still not able to boot into the system. Fortunately, I'm allowed to boot into recovery.
I dunno if this is my fault, i just have it reported here.

I have a bug in this ROM. The phone switches off completely. Randomly. And it doesnt switch on unless i remove and re insert the battery. Couldnt get a log cat as this happened so very randomly. I have no idea of when this happens.
I am using VanirAOSP and the kernel by varun including philZ recovery.

That's not my bug then. If you flash amother boot.img, you also reflash the ramdisk.

I didn't mean that. I meant that you cannot just use the CM ramdisk instead of Vanir's (it may cause unintended problems).

For new build, setting fc's when entering 'more' tab for adjusting vibration intensity..

In call volume
is the in call low volume problem persist in this rom... plz reply asap??

First great rom, great performance. Looking forward to officially support for our phone.
Second I have for now two problems. As said from user faizalotai bug in settings after clicking 'more'.
And after restart I have problems with lockscreen . It freezes my phone for a minute but after that every thing is normal.

I've Flashed this rom yesterday... Only 2 bugs I've saw...
Settings>device>more gives fc...
And sometimes when I lock the screen the power button doesn't work to unlock my phone... I have to wait almos 30 seconds...
It's only my phone or a general bug??

Yep, ive also experienced that lag during unlock.
Ive encountered similar lag with RR 5.1.2, but i solved it when someone suggested me to flash Graphical fix, sadly, that wasnt the case with latest version of Vanir :/

i had the same issue with cm11 fxp325 as well. Maybe its related to all kitkat roms for XL

anyone having fps drop while scrolling through home screen or settings?? Scrolling doesnt seem to be smooth as other kitkat roms

Greetings friends. Can someone explain how to properly configure the OTA updates. Whenever I detect a new update I have to completely download the new zip file. Thank you very much.

Possible solutions:
1. Flash the included boot.img from the Vanir zip via flashtool.
2. Redownload the rom and check the MD5.
3. Wipe system, data, cache & dalvik cache.

No....i tried a lot but by deodexing stock camera ....slow motion does not work....so ive added cyanogenmod 11s camera ...only bug with camera is HDR

I've downloaded your rom, install and see the future.
From my side, step in installing your rom are as follows:
1. Install rom -> GAPPS -> MotoCameraGallery + Libs.zip
2. Reboot
3. Log into TWRP
4. The Install PurePerformances ™ X_CM.1.4.zip
5. Install Render-Kernel-AOSP-06-03-r23.zip
6. Finish
And the result is:
1. Touch2wake works on my moto g (i like it)
2. Performance and the other was my monitor progress.
3. Is it possible I request that your rom merged feature like appbars, or dark themes such as found on other rom?

It might sound intrusive but could you guys share a few benchmarks to compare? I am mostly interested on your work dev, awaiting for Hover to be included - will keep an eye and help out on what I can.

By the way, after I did re-install it by:
install rom -> reboot go into rom -> enter to cwm for install GAPPS -> reboot go into the rom.
I did not find "Setup Wizard has stopped working" again.

I installed the 4.4.3 GAPPS, this rom is better than Crdroid? This Rom has Hover or Halo?

Hi everybody! Recently I have built Slim LP for this device and wanted to share it with you. I created this thread in general forum because creating devdb projects form is broken, and I don't know how long it will being fixed.
What is not working:
audio- and videorecording
Unfortunately, one of the fixes for audio from CM12.1 branch doesn't work some reason, probably it means, that some apps like camu also won't work.

Sorry for the late response... what do you mean??? slim is one of my favorites. when i test a rom I keep it for a couple of days so if audio is not working thats a problem for me, video recording is not.

Seems that it's known issue. I forgot to mention, that only these gapps packages(found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-mini/orig-development/rom-slimlp-t3108784) works with slim. I haven't tested it though, so if anybody would like to test it, please report whether it's working.

Yes, you should just flash it as usual.
If you are on stock GB, you need to upgrade to stock JB first, other than that, the procedure is normal.
Btw, first load could take a while (maybe even one hour), so dont panic and think you are in a boot loop when it takes forever to load.

the only one I've noticed so far is changing the battery icon, it doesn't change. Aside from that, everything's working.

Oh well just sharing this since my wife and kid's using my S5, if you guys could share the things that you think are bugs as of the moment, let me know, so I could at least(if I have time) could submit sone patches in CM to have it fixed. Lol! Got nothing to do for the next month so I could at least help out.

Tried all there is to do with the APN, didn't solve the problem. I think it might have to do with the modem..? I really don't understand enough about it..
Anyway, switched to CRdroid, looking good for now.
