the problem is i cant figure out what this is, and where to get the pin
because i cant remember setting it up
i tried the usual pins i have but to no avail.. no i only have 10/15 attempts
can someone walk me out of this feature?
It is a feature, which sets, whether it asks for the SIM PIN when you turn on the phone or not.
PIN is given with the SIM, so if you don't know it, you will have to contact your operator.

My old T830 wants PIN2 to connect to network.
When i enter simcard to another phone, it connects sucessfully.
I entered PIN2 that network carrier gave to me, but still not working.
Just found out that that PIN2 actually meant some kind of device unlock code.
When i entered old simcard i always used with that phone, it worked.
I guess that i accidentally activated some sort of protection against other simcards than this one.
Anyone know where i turned that on and how to turn it back off.
My SIm cards seem to have had the option to disable the PIN code disabled. I have tried several different phones. On connecting to the phone network I enter the pin code and it's accepted no problem. But when I try and disable the PIN code lock, it wont work. It either says, not supported, or wrong pin code. I am entering the correct PIN, many many times! I have tried this in Android Kit Kat, GB, Win 6.5 and an old Nokia. Always the same result.
Could this be locked by the network operator so it cannot be removed? Is there a work around?
I have tried to search, but have not found an answer.
Contact the nework operator , i had the same problem.
I have looked into what this could mean, and finding that I have a pin on my sim but I dont
I can put my sim in my origonal device and works fine
this phone has been flashed with 2 roms both no signal only the 2nd rom was giving me this message at top of screen
one thing though, I am having to enter the sim unlock(phone lock from Three) code every time I reboot the phone, I obtained this code using the famous term emulater and running that specific string, this code enters fine and says
SSIM network unlock PIN, enters code, then gets - SIM Network unlock successful
any ideas
Forgot to add, if I go to settings, security, setup SIM/RUIM card lock
I click lock sim card and specify a code
Then tells me it cant because there already is one
I can choose Change SIM PIN, by entering the old one (12345? guess) then a new one
I have 1 attempt remaing before I have to contact my phone carrier
Phone is from 3 Mobile but my Sim is from O2, if I put this sim into my origonal device there is no PIN
Any ideas?

Click to collapse
I would follow the other method on that guide and SIM unlock that way. It will be 100% successful and then you will know if your SIM card has a pin lock or if your device is having trouble. Remember that you need to be on gingerbread firmware to use the diag.nbh so search the forums and read up before you act

Android pin issue
My sim card is pin protected - it's not possible to disable this pin - I tried also contacting my operator. Is there any app able to enter this pin automatically when I restart phone, close airplane mode, so I will not see this annying pop up every time?
Hello,
I have mount my old android phone as an entertainment and maps (3g connection required) system in my car. I have already made it to startup and shutdown automatically with car radio but problem is I have a SIM card blocked with PIN code. Card is from Orange and I can't turn off code requirement because operator doesn't allow it.
Is there any way to save sim pin code into some system file or autofill code form ?
It is boring when phone turns on itself but I have to type sim pin each time ;/
Thanks for answer
