Hi,
I've a problem with my nexus five. few weeks ago I rooted it and flash it with CM11 nightlies.
After restoring all my DCIM folder, I did notice that somes pictures seems corrupted, actually all ones taken with HDR+ mode.
Here's a gallery view atached.
On my computer, they do looks fine, I tried to restore them again with rsync.
I tried to go back to stock, now I'm on omny rom, style this issue...
So anyone has an idea?
Thanks by advance.
Maybe just the preview is broken? Tried clearing data on galleryƱ

Download 'rescan media' from play store and run it. Everything should appear after a few minutes.

Go to application manager. Clear the data of media storage. Reboot and wait for half an hour atleast. Also try clearing data of gallery. Make sure the folder where you have your files don't have .nomedia file.
If that doesn't work then something must be really wrong with your rom.

Scrolls the tabs, it's under 'all' tab. Titanium backup should work too.

Do a clean install or try a different rom. This looks like the only viable option now.

Alright so I was using PACman rom, but was frustrated with all the random reboots I was getting so I decided I'd flash a TW based rom (axis rom) which I figured would be a little more stable.
Now, I want to flash carbon rom but I have this 0 section of my files on my internal storage, and new pictures I take are put in a different place than the old ones I had.
My question is, once if I flash a new aosp based rom will those files be deleted or will there be a second /0 file path?

Almost positive it will add another 0 path. Its used for multi users. I had at one point like 7-8 of them.
Its easy to back them up using airdroid.

look at data/media you should have another sdcard0 there and all your stuff that you said is in different places should be there.

Well it did delete everything. I'd show you a screenshot of how it looked before I flashed axis (a TW based ROM) from PACman (an AOSP ROM), to now (on carbon rom, also and aosp ROM), but I don't have a screenshot for you because it was deleted!

No, I use Dropbox's auto backup feature for my pictures. It's not that fact that they're deleted forever, which in fact they are not because I have them backup up, it's that I have to put them all back on and that will be a huge pain and take forever.
That and I'm not sure what else was deleted among pictures. Other important files, apk's etc... all gone and I'll never know what it was I deleted.

What exactly did you wipe in recovery before flashing Axis? When you look at Settings/Storage, is that space still being occupied? If so, while using a file explorer, go to data/media like Surge1223 posted then make sure the file explorer is set to show hidden files.

Hi all,
Just wanted to know where the nandroid backup from cwm gets saved? It says sdcard/cwm/backup .But there's no folder such as backup in the cwm folder, although it shows up in recovery mode (the backup file). I was hoping I could find the file and move one of them to my PC so as to save some space on the phone.
Any help would be appreciated..
Thanks

Its in data/media/clockworkmod (which is a slightly quicker way to get there)
And I explain why here:
[ info] Storage: Nexus 5 Data (info / loss / recovery / prevention)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2534010
Which is also why I would recommend switching recovery to either Philz or TWRP

I just backed up my N5 with CWM and I can't find the file... I tried all locations shown here with ES file explorer and these dirs are empty... Or at least they show empty.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
N5 - rooted - Stock rom - franco kernel - CWM recovery

After a backup has been taken, does the storage show less space available?
How about taking another backup and see whether it's working or not?
PS: Instead of CWM, can you try Philz? It's based on CWM with added goodies! I find it a lot better.

Figures. I thought it wasn't showing hidden files even though I checked the "show hidden files" box.
Clicked "Root Explorer" and lo and behold, there's a **** ton of stuff in there.
This was driving me insane (and filled up my storage too grrrrrrrrrrrrr), thanks rootSU.
Ok one last question, is there a way to view all files in windows as well when the device is connected via USB?
No probs
Hello everyone,
I have a problem with whatsapp.
Today I switched from my Nexus 4 tot my Nexus 5.
I made a backup of my massages and copied the "Whatsapp" folder tot my Nexus 5. When I install whatsapp it asks if I want to restore. It takes about 3 minutes but when it's "done" it doesnt say restore finished. It directly continues to the page where i can enter my name etc.
The messages arn't restored....
Can anyone help me with this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Try to install WhatsApp from their website or apk from trusted sites..
Do not install it from play store..

Already tried that, no luck..
Is there another solution?...
Install what's app, don't open it and set up, place your whatsapp folder in the main directory of your device then open whatsapp and run. Worked fine for me today.
EDIT: Maybe an issue because you are transferring between different model/devices.

Now check whether they are getting restored properly on your previous device?
If yes, then it's because of encryption which is not allowing you to decrypt it on nexus 5

Please check the file size of your backup, isn't it 0?
Last option left is to reset your device
Or if it is rooted go to recovery and wipe Dalvik cache and cache partition

The phone is brand new, already tried to reset it multiple times....
Also the file size is not 0
Could it be that there are to many messages in there because it store's like 250.000 om them...
