[Q] Not Sure Where to Post New Project - General Questions and Answers

Hello,
I designed and built a coffee table with an integrated screen running KitKat 4.4.2. It has 4Gig of RAM and the CPU is a dual core Intel celeron clocked at 1.8 ghz. I want to post pictures and in depth descriptions of everything. I would Also like to receive feedback and constructive criticism, but I have no idea what section to post in. Any help is appreciated.
P.S.It has an AnTuTu benchmark of 3658.

I am not an expert or moderator or something, but since you bumped this and seem impatient I know that there is a subforum where developers post their Apps and Games which is probably not what you want. However, I see that that subforum is under this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/android ("Android Development and Hacking") which includes another subforum titled "Miscellaneous Android Development". Have a look into this and see if it includes what you want to post about.
Coffee table with an integrated computer sounds like an interesting thing  I will keep an eye to find your thread when you post about it!
Cheers

OK thanks. I will try there tonight after work. Appreciate the help.
Yeah, My little 2 year old brother has been playing non-stop on there for the last two days. That's the first thing he wants when he wakes up...lol

What features are you hoping to include? The acer has the same cpu as the Xoom--Nvidia Tegra 2 (if I'm not mistaken), but beyond that, there are hardware differences.
well, it was more, how do you port. i have a rom made of copy and pastes from other roms, using team tiamat as a base for my own personel use. but i do not know how to test if it is bootable without the possibly bricking my device. so there in lies my real question.
more than porting rom we should be more concerned about compatible apps for honeycomb
i feel we do not have as much apps as available for gingerbread(or sorry to say ipad )
Well, if I can get this rom bootable, I might be able to get my touchwiz rom bootable. And I would say that would be nice for the community

Governer.... which one to use

I find myself struggling to figure out which governer to use? which one does what? which is better for battery life? is there a thread with all this info?
Ive listed some of the options below.
lulzactiveq
hotplug
ondemandx
lulzactive
Your help is much appreciated.
It's going to be up to you. Every phone is made a bit different, hence why under voting is touchy because some chips can't handle it.
I would suggest trying all the ones you would like to and comparing your experiences.
Some of the new governors will shut down one CPU core when the phone doesn't need it like when the screen is off.
I will try to find some of the helpful links floating around here on our new governors and such

I realized this thread is in development, it will have to be moved but I could only find this at the moment.

My setup is:
Paranoid-Android v12 OS 2.54
CPU speed is 192 min 1080 max
Governor is: ondemandX
I/O scheduler is:SIO and here are some screen shots of a 1900mah Anker. The stats on JB are a nightmare and a reboot allows for a gain of battery so my graph looks weird. Also I don't think I had any voice calls that day so mostly just SMS Google talk and games

Thank you both for speedy responses. If enough useful info is gathered I will put together a "useful thread" on governers to help others out.

No need. This one is more than sufficient.

Also, take all settings advice from others with a grain of salt. Even those with the same device. All CPUs are different and can prefer different set-ups.
Moved and the thread quoted above was what was about to post.

True Story :good:
I would say the only way to archive it is over clock the chip to 1495mhz, you can find the notice of the overclocking from some game like death rally. Trust me, all the rom is the same because Desire S is still using the old generation which make the gaming performance go low plus the sense is also a reason.
I have chance to compare the gaming performance with the Xperia U with almost same hardware spec except the dual core. The result is quite unexpected, Xperia U handle games much better although they are using the same GPU Adreno 205. Hope it will help , you wont notice the different until you try heavy games.

OpenMPI with Android Clusters

Does anyone have interest or any info on android OpenMPI or equivalent?
Seems that while GPU implementations are obvious, I haven't read any good information CPU side development. Maybe it's irrelevant at this time, but interesting nonetheless.
p.s. Sorry if this belongs in the Q and A but SIMD/MIMD seems somewhat technical.
Made some progress...
Still researching this in my free time. I'll report back with a more constructive post soon.
LOL
Most smarphones use AMR architechture, which I believe is more like a GPU than a CPU ( I may be wrong I don't much)
However, I think you would be interested by this

The Linux Scheduler: a Decade of Wasted Cores

Just hoping to have some other input on this series of patches:
https://github.com/jplozi/wastedcores
Are they relevant to our modern Android devices and in particular my Exynos7420 SoC ?

@AndreiLux & @dorimanx , would you be so kind to also please take a quick look and feedback?
Really appreciated.

Retired Un-recognized Developer of my own private SkyHigh Kernel v5.3.x powered SM-N920C
I just went through the whole Paper. And its really informative and the way the explanation has been written and sections describing everything so perfectly. thanks for this. I am not in a position to tell how relevant this is to mobile and android Task schedulers, but in general for an OS aficionado, this information was so much helpful. I hope some more recognized developers put some light on these topics. reading all this was a bliss.
