[Q] How to reduce the ram memory for HTC one X - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Now i using a HTC one X and using the viberX 4.0.7 rom cook of Venom
But the Ram always over 700mb,
could you guide me how to reduce the ram memory?
Thanks alot

You mean the consume of 700 mb of RAM, close those Apps that you dont need in background.

Also, RAM usage differs in various Android versions and UXs. For example, 4.4 AOSP is better with memory handling than Sense would ever be. On top of that, different kernels handle memory differently by different OOM values

[Q] Some issue :d

My sense only has 563 Ram ) and i saw another phones have more than that, is it normal ? And my free ram almost stay between 90-120 mbs Somebody know how to remove increase Ram
Some roms or kernel have uses some ram to improve other speeds. This is why the ram can differ a little.

[Q] More Ram Htc sensation

Hello i just wonder if it's possible to get more ram acces on htc sensation in the most rom you have like 560 ram, the phone have a kapasitet off 768 mb ram, if you can get more ram free the phone will be faster i think. Can some devoper answer me on that question if it possible to do that?
You don't think that a dev would get us more RAM if he could do that. Some of the total RAM is used for system processes and will never show up as available.

More ram doesn't mean more speed.
If you deleted a lot of HTC stuff i looks like you get more speed with more ram available.
That isn't true, with those deleted apps you also kill a lot of background processes.
Thats the cause of speeding up.
On the other had your GPU also takes some ram if you increase it to gain more ram your GUI will be horrible.
Looking at the Bricked kernel which has even taken more ram to increase smoothness when playing games ect.
i have an idea
It's not exactly how much ram you have.. its about how much free ram. I'm running what's in my signature and I also have this app called app quarantine that helps. Maybe look into it? Try it out.
Also arhd Roma and fauxs latest kernels give extra RAM with zram and zcache

Sense 3.5, Amount of RAM..

Why am I noticing in some Sense Roms, there's only 562 and then theres some with 613? Also the Sensation has 768 of ram right? Why can we access all of it yet?
We can access it all, Sense is using what we don't see
As far as i know, some of total RAM is used by system processes and it will never be shown as available..
GPU is using RAM also..
And remember, more RAM does not mean more speed..
Cheers
p.s. There was thread about this here in Q&A section use search
Depends on the kernel as well, how much ram to give to the GPU and the system.
Thanks guys. I get it now haha.

How much RAM?

Hey guys!
I'd like to know how much RAM do you have on your ROMs? Especially on AOSP ones.
I'm running Virtuous Sensless, and despite it being "sensless" I got only about 150mb RAM free (normal usage). When using task killer it's even up to 250MB (sometimes, often 200MB). And what about you? Don't you think it's sometimes quite too little?
I usually have 130-150 free during heavy use. Sensation takes a bunch of ram for gpu, and depending on your rom, features like forcing launcher into memory, hw acceleration for smooth, fast UI on dual core etc.
Result - fast, lag-free, slick os and apps.
I rarely worry about free ram these days, and enjoy my device the greater for it!

Around 145MB.
Around 140 mb
RUNNING ARHD 6.5 senseless(done some cleaning and ran a script): 265MB ram with maps(8mb), hotmail(11mb), vlc(4.2mb), settings(25mb), htc location(6.3)mb, android keyboard(14mb), media(6.2mb) in background and phase beam(6.5) as live wallpaper.
I have 144 MB with Google map (10MB) and android services running. Running ARHD 6.3 XE.

As posted multiple times, it actually doesnt matter one jot how much free RAM you have as long as its over a certain threshold (for Sensation its about 100-120mb). More free RAM after that much is essentially just wasted and if you deliberatly make your phone have the maximum amount of free RAM possible then you are killing its multitasking ability.

This - if you are addictively clearing RAM all the time, well then you are simply wasting it.
