We all know Android has come a long way, from suckie to the coolest mobile system. I wonder what is the next step of Android? Upgrade better hardware? add more features? or try to be innovative and create totally new Android experience? What do you guys think?

next time you want to discuss something, put it in the general section not Q&A . android was not " suckie" at the start, it was amazing for what we had back then. Heck of a lot better than the original iphone.
Note taken. But the suckie thing is just my opinion, no offence intended.

Hey people ...
I have Galaxy S2 and a Nokia E72 ... Android kills Symbian!
The E72 is an awesome phone, but it's limited by the outdated Symbian OS. Does anyone know of an alternative OS which can run on an E72?
I'm sure, somewhere, someone's hacked one to do something special!
Let me know please,
Thanks
yaaa... me too wishes the same...... Please some experts think in this line and let us have something new.... Thanking you in advance

I wish there is I love this phone:crying:
Honestly, I've been searching for information on how to create an operating system for the E72, but I don't know where to start. I've been developing for x86 my whole life and have little to no experience with other architectures.
I'd love to be able to hack together a Linux kernel for this device and build something on top of it, something really simple and lightweight.
Is there anyone else that would like to lend a hand? Or anyone that can point me in the right direction?
I wish I could man, what you're talking about sounds awesome! Hopefully this reply will give the threat a bump and the man (or woman) will see!
my e72 also wish it
Me three

You bought a phone with an infant OS for functionality? It can't do half the things Android and iOS can (yet), and you say it's ugly. I am really questioning your reasoning skills. By the way, it's the best looking and smoothest interface available. Please tell me you don't think the silver/lime green/blue (and completely uncustomizable) iOS theme looks good LOL

You should have read a bit more or ask here before you bought a WP7 with what you call a hideous interface, would have saved you money and us having to read thru all the .....
Quick answer.... No !
Guys, 2 things:
Stop flaming please and try and be helpful
secondly and lastly, @OP, this is not dev related so im moving this to Q&A.
Thanks.
Ok people....let me get this straight....I picked up the phone from a friend that needed money.....he bought the phone on contract, and later needed some money....not a new phone...I gave him 100.00 dollars for it...I am a happy owner owner of an hd2...in a dual boot config...I have never had a windows phone before so I know nothing about the OS....themes....modding.....nothing at all....which is why I came here to ask for EXPERTISE.....not flaming....Im sure there are things on your phones that you dont like either.Mine on the other hand is the looks of the Operating system...after seeing all the different roms and themes for android that are available...I was simply curious to see if there was anything like that for htc hd7 YET...I personally think that Microsoft designed an extremely ugly interface for such a nice phone..I hate the looks of it...big ugly squares of color that take up the whole screen ....looks like a 3rd grader designed it...IMO.So please dont flame me about the phone.I know anyone of you would have happily paid 100.00 for the Brand new phone as well...So on that note...thanks to the people that actually gave me useful information. Now I have the answer to my question.I understand the phone is very new and it will take time to get things modded, themed etc...so I will wait....Or maybe someone here is interested in a trade for an android device that is similar in value?...Who knows....
To the Flamers that have nothing better to do but bash someone for something they have no idea about....GET A LIFE!!!...and remember this next time you ask anyone about something you are unsure of...and hopefully you wont get flamed simply because you ASKED.....peace out...Larry

lol way to go in hijacking someones thread
Seriously though, there is a free app on the market place called SecureIt, in which you can place photos stored in the normal folders and place in there, password protected.
It cant store anything else in there, but it is a good place to hide the girly pics from the misses (so im told )
If you wanted to keep anything else in there such as documents, i guess you could save them in jpeg format instead of pdf for example, that could work
CHow.
Hey larry,
Good you found your answer and that your enjoying your HD2 (it is an awesome device IMHO).
WP7 is in its early state and as such MS will continue to develop it further, i mean look at Apple; they certainly didnt get it right first time, nor did they with android hence all the updates which improve not only the UI but speed, security etc.
WP7 does indeed have exciting times ahead, you only have to look at Mango to realise how well integrated social networking will be in the very core of the OS.
Personally i think wp7 is good, a refreshing attempt at something different, which has great scope for further development in both the OS itself and on the market place, but everyone has their own opinion and certain OS's are not for everyone.
Feel free to PM me, or discuss this further here
Cheers,
Tim.
Really interesting read and does make sense...

Excellent find! A very enlightening read if you have the time!
Felt like Google should have taken ICS as an opportunity to redo the framework as a reset button for all their devices. Makes me wonder when they will actually fix the problem since ICS going forward should be the main platform for both phones and tablets running Android. Maybe another overhaul when 5.0 hits?

I'm sure they would love to do this but they have to keep app compatibility in mind...
I wonder if that actually helps android as faster processors are developed, at least with the thread priority part of it. As phones start to become more like PCs, could you imagine all of your background processes pause because you moved your mouse or touched the screen?

As the post and the comments says, Google is trying to work on this with every release...there is a rumor of major overhaul with Android 5.0....if not then some other changes based on the multi core processors and work around.....if Samsung can do it in GS2...i am sure Google can do too for all phones..

I don't think they necessarily have to have app compatibility. If they made ICS with new framework they could have just released it to devs first during development and given them ample lead time to parallel develop before launching. I feel like this would be a better scenario than just launching it or not even fixing it.

I think that backwards compatibility or legacy support is paramount. I don't know how hard it will be to integrate, but I feel that it is needed.
Love the OS, but I agree with others that the lag is disgusting as is the need to buy a new phone to hopefully get it fixed...

Good article. I agree that in creating such an open platform Google did kind of cripple itself in terms of maintaining a smooth experience across all devices. However I don't think I'd trade the openness of Android and such a great development community for the single user experience that Apple dictates over a little lag.

on top of that, if you read all the comments on the G+ past in OP...Samsung did a very good job in overcoming the lag in SG2...from the comment what I got was that Tegra's are not really good processors for Android...and Samsung own processors works best.....
As phones gets closer like a computer android has advantage over iOS , because it is closer to what phones will be in future.... if this makes sence
