Built-in speaker phone function
Hi there. You don't need any other special software to use your XDA as a speakerphone. When someone calls you or when you're calling someone, press the green key (answer/call key) for two seconds and the speakerphone function will be activated.
geeeeez! as simple as that? Thanks!
Thank you, too
Was also looking for a Tool to enable this, didn't know that it is so easy

One problem with the green button is that when youre calling someone and want to activate speakerphone..it puts the other party to HOLD first before you can use this feature...
so ive been waiting for someone who can make softkey function for this feature...say include it in our dial pad...

For 2003 devices you can also try this:

Hi...
i just bought this phone... & looking for a working call recoding application... i tried many ones from android market... but either they record only my side or crashed out.. i really need a good application which support call recording facility... specially other side... & in normal mode only... not speaker mode...
I hope you guys also faced the same problem like me... & some of you guys find the solution. Please guide me.Thanks
The problems is almost all manufactors modified the android they put on their devices in to disable call recording. There is actually build in functionality for this, but if you select call as source, you just get an empty file. It's a shame that most cripple android like that.
The only hack i know of where they got it working is the i9000 from samsung. They hacked the phone.apk to enable call recording.
Call Recording for Optimus One
I bought a Optimus One for my dad, and he needs a call recording s/w... i tried Totall recall and it works fine, but after a min or so, it hangs / shuts off the entire phone. Can any1 help me with any software that works for Optimus oNE???

Hey i know it's pretty old thread but i found working app that works really great on our beloved P500. Records you and caller and saves it in mp3 files. There many options of configuration all you need to do is root your phone and install from market "rVoix for rotted HTC Hero" (can't pasate link cause of lack of 10 posts )
I'm using it on rotted LG p500 with ICS on board.
App it selfs starts a service which is fully configurable, you can set up to record all calls, calls from desired numers, unknow call etc. Maybe someone will need it
It's suggested to not record all calls but only few which one you want to have recorded, casue during the call quality of call is avarage.
Hi ..
I bought a Micromax A100 a little over 2 months back .. It came with ICS 4.04 installed.
Ever since I bought I'm facing problem with it while using Skype or anyother voice chat/VOIP app (Internetcalls, VOIPstunt, Talkatone etc)..
Whenever I try to use any of these apps which have voice chat/call feature, the voice come only from external speaker at the back side of the phone and not through the earpiece.. I have tried changing the settings of skype to make the voice come from earpiece but it comes from speaker only in both the settings... Same is the case with other apps...This causes lots of inconvience and i have to use headphones thru 3.5mm jack when I have to make voice calls... I had a Spice Mi-425 with Gingerbread earlier and on that this issue wasn't there...
I have tried Factory reset and upgraded ROM with Fastboot Upgrade and Reverse Image upgrade available on Micromax FTP site but the problem still persist even after that...
Please help me solve problem so that I can use voice feature of these apps thru the earpiece..
Thanks in advance and hope to hear from you soon!

Its a known bug in the Android reported here at the code.google.com
http://code.google.com/p/android/is...at&colspec=ID Type Status Owner Summary Stars
Btw its somewhat a feature as said by the ppl at Skype...
I browsed through Skype forum and I found out this,
When a video chat is on, the person must b able to listen and watch simultaneously...
So the output is directed through phone speakers...
Also it has something to do with the permissions assigned to each apps...
Directing the voice through earpiece requires MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS permission...
This is from the discussion at stackoverflow.com
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2119060/android-getting-audio-to-play-through-earpiece
Micromax A100 .. Help Urgently needed!
Thanks Aftab for the research and the reply.. I can understand that when a person is on a video call he may need voice from speakers as phone is required to be kept in front of face at that time .. BUT what I cannot get it why it thru speakers when a person is on audio call only .. I have disabled video calls in skype since I don't use it.. yet, this problem exist. The thing you wrote about MODIFY AUDIO SETTINGS .. Can I do it on my own or some programming has to be done for that?
Its not only a Skype issue.. it happens with all the apps that have voice call feature .. so maybe it has to do with ICS?
Also no such issue was there in Gingerbread on my Mi-425 ..
Is there any app to fix this?? I can try rooting the phone and then using that app if something to fix does exist?
pls advice.

Unfortunately u hav to be little versed with programming for that...
That discussion link I gave u on stackoverflow.com has all the code..
U need to hav android sdk installed...
Go to my thread for a headstart...
Follow the proceedure for rooting...
For drivers install through 3rd method, i.e android sdk method...

hello everybody,
so i spent alot of time trying to find a solution to my problem:
how to automaticlly merge two calls ?
caller A - called to my phone - i am still talking to him,
caller B - called to my phone .
i would like to make conference call without touching the screen !
hoo and it is very important, i wish it to be done on not routed devices (if possible)
i was trying to call PhoneUtils.jave etc .
simulate touch event on the "merge" button.
none of those method worked for me,
so before i'll go to the final method (banging my head against the wall),
i thought- if only there was a place with smart helpful pepole-
maybe they figure it up ...
thanks alot,
roy po
