Recovering a NAND backup

Hey guys, I finally got the courage to root my phone yesterday because I wanted the crapware that sprint gives you and the new htc update gives you off the phone. Before I read about titanium backup I saw root explorer and did that method but later I found out titanium fully uninstalls it after using root explorer so my question is this: Since I did a nand backup and I recover it, will it put everything back the way it was even if I installed stuff later on? Like is a nand backup the same as a windows restore point?
Nandroid backup is a system image. It doesn't track changes automatically like system restore so you'll be restoring back the image as it was when you saved it.
So should I uninstall all the apps that I did after rooting to avoid complications or will it do it for me? Most are on my sd card too.
You shouldn't have to worry about the new applications you installed. If you restore a Nandroid backup, it will overwrite any and all changes done to your phone after the backup was taken.

Titanium backup?

Do I need root to restore app data?
You need root to use Titanium Backup. Period.

[Q] Any other app that can restore titanium backup backups?

An app that doesn't require rooting??? I bricked my phone and just got it repaired, so I don't want to try rooting or downloading ROMs again but I want to get all my apps back but they're backed up with Titanium backup that requires root. Do you think I can restore them on Titanium backup without root or is there any other app I can use??
Simply install apps from titanium backup folder on sdcard, but you wont have any data (apps settings etc)
Do I need another backup app to restore them???
Data only with root
Sent from my LG-P920 using Tapatalk
but I said I don't want to root

Click to collapse
Let's put it simple:
If you want your apps, you don't need root.
If you want your data (saved games, personalization, etc) you need root.
That's all.

[Completed] can i restore my apps only from cwm backup?

i have a cwm backup and want to restore apps from it . ant way to do it?
Hi,
If your cwm version has an option to restore data partition only... That can work. But, I've read many issues from people trying to do this. Using Titanium backup to backup your apps and data is by far the better way.
You could restore your full backup. Get titanium backup and backup your apps and data. Then flash a new rom and get titanium backup again and restore your user apps.
That's the best and most popular way. ?
Good luck!

Using Huawei Backup to restore apps from non-Huawei device

Hi,
I upgraded to this device from a Samsung device and used MyBackup Root to backup my data. However, I do not yet have root on this device to be able to restore my apps with App Data. I do see however that Huawei Backup has the ability to backup and restore app data to the /data partition by exporting it into/from a MySQL DB and splitting it into "blobs" as required. MyBackup Root obviously does it differently and is unusable here.
I was wondering, would it be feasible/possible for me to take the Huawei Backup apk and install it on my Samsung device to backup my apps in order to restore them to my Huawei device including, without root?
Thanks.
Anyone?
Bumping this, hopefully someone has some insight
i have same issue
