[Q] Any other app that can restore titanium backup backups? - LG Optimus 3D

An app that doesn't require rooting??? I bricked my phone and just got it repaired, so I don't want to try rooting or downloading ROMs again but I want to get all my apps back but they're backed up with Titanium backup that requires root. Do you think I can restore them on Titanium backup without root or is there any other app I can use??

Simply install apps from titanium backup folder on sdcard, but you wont have any data (apps settings etc)

Do I need another backup app to restore them???

Data only with root

Let's put it simple:
If you want your apps, you don't need root.
If you want your data (saved games, personalization, etc) you need root.
That's all.

[Q] Backing up apps and saved data for root

I want to root and install a rom, but I know this will wipe all my data. Is there a way to back up apps and data, and intall them to the new rom after root? I would use Titanium backup but it requires root.
The current rooting and s off method does not require a wipe. So titanium might still be your best bet

root first
then backup apps etc using TB
then install custom rom (wipe / no wipe)
if you dont wipe u lose nothing
if you do wipe you have TB saved - just restore what u like

stock rom

I lost my wifi when i rooted and can not find a fix. If i install the stock rom for my sch-i905 on this site, will i lose my installed apps if i use app backup and restore. If yes, can i move the backed up apps file to my computer, reinstall the backup and restore app, move the backed up file back to tab and restore?

The backup files are stored on the SD card which is not wiped during that process. You don't need to move them (unless you really want to ).

[Q] Transfer from GNex to N5

How do I transfer my apps, settings, etc. from my not rooted Galaxy Nexus to a Nexus 5?
I should be able to transfer music, video and other sdcard stuff by copying to PC and then to N5, but am wondering how to do other stuff.

Settings I don't think is possible.
For apps, I use MyBackup, but if you want to take the app data with you I would recommend you root.

AFAIK, rooting requires unlocking the bootloader, which wipes the phone
I should be able to do the apps (apk) with adb backup
Titanium backup : backup on your previous phone, transfer the backup files on your rooted nexus, then install titanium and restore apps and their data.

Titanium Backup

Why would you need Titanium Backup when you can just connect your device to your computer and copy your files? This is the main purpose of backing up right? So no need for Titanium Backup...

The titanium backup stores you apps data as well.. Plus it helps to covert user apps to system apps or vice versa.. This function comes handy when a phones system partition is low and due to which some phones cant flash gapps.. Gapps are google apps BTW..
The phones which have low memory have to delete some apps from ROM then flash the ROM to save some system memory.. So through TItanium backup he convert the system app to user app without deleting the app and freeing up space in system memory..
For ex about data backup of apps.. Take example of whatsapp..
When you install a whatsapp on new ROM you need to give phone number verification code and all..
When you take a backup via Titanium.. Just open the app.. tap on whatsapp.. Select restore.. You will restore all your chats.. numbers without even given your number and all..
Why show everytime warning after open titanium backup?

Any backup alternative of titanium backup?

Hii guys .. I have been using titanium backup from a long time. But from sometime it doesn't seem to be working that good for me. I backed up my apps and data .. Then isntalled a custom rom (bliss pop) i restored the backup (app+data) and although all apps got restored, the data was gone. I lost atleast 8-10 gb of data because i had a lot of heavy games. Do i have any means to recover that data? If not is there any other alternative backup app than titanium backup? For future preference. Otherwise i won9be able to change roms or return to stock.
anyone ?
Hmm..titanium backup is supposed to be the best backup app, dunno why that happened to you.
Anyway, you can also try helium. Its free. I've never personally tried it but ive heard that it works all well as TB and it has a sync feature so u don't need to manually backup all the time when u have some thing new in an app..
Try helium backup. Used to use it when my phone wasnt rooted. Obviously not as good as titanium backup.
Search for Backup+ on xda. An awesome alternative to Titanium backup. Trust me, you'll love it.
TiBu doesn't backup large game data files unless explicitly set in the options. By default it will only back them up if it's under 32MB (See Backup app external data & Select external data by max size)
I use my backup. It's an awesome app. While I was using tb, I switched to it. It's free for a month, so you can try it.

You can do manual backups of heavy games.
1.try backup on apk of the game using app backup and restore app from the play store and backup the apk.
2.most of the heavy games data are stored in Android -> obb.. So keep a backup of obb on the system or phone by just copying it to another folder.
3. After installing a new rom. Place the obb in the android folder and then install back the app from the app app backup and restore.
