Hello and thank you in advance guys , this forum is wonderful , I just started going deep into the world of android and found my self scratching my head at many occasions. I have great experience on PC's regarding software and hardware , too bad they are of no use when we talk mobile-phones. So , I got a TCL s950 some days ago , it had 4.2.2 android with English and Chinese language only, I decided to root it and flash a new ROM , I used your thread and got everything done-(the learning curve was a bit vertical for me , I nearly bricked the phone )- my phone boots and everything , it can use WIFI download apps and generally work fine .
Now the problem
Even though the phone can detect SIM instertion I cannot receive/make calls , send SMS , nothing. I can see no signal bars on the indicator whatever I do. I reset the phone back to stock ROM but the problem persists. Could it be a hardware failure? Modem issues? ROM issues? I really don't know... I've been working hours and hours on this , now the next step is to take it to a store and have them check it .
I would appreciate if there was a solution , I will wait patiently for anyone that can help. Good day to all.

HI, I have a Samsung Vibrant, everything in my phone seems to be working great except for the GPS. when I was on Android 2.1, the GPS seems to be working fine, but after the upgrade to Android 2.2, GPS really had not been working well. what I mean by it is if I did a factory reset, GPS will come back to life and it works for about a week. it's been happening 3 or 4 times already, which means I did a master reset 3 or 4 times. after about a week later, the GPS goes dead. it can not find the satellites. when I start the navigation, it can plot the route with 3G, but as I am driving, there are no movement, because it can not detect any satellites. I can't be master resetting it all the time, it's a pain just to load all my stuff back. I call T-mobile support and all they can tell me is to Master reset it again. since I did not get the phone directly from T-mobile, it is not cover under the exchange policy. . Can someone help me? thanks. I am intended to call samsung to see if they have a repair policy on these because this phone is less than one years old.
OK FIRSTLY if your phone is rooted then there is simply nothing to worry becoz the problem is in ur rom.. it happens due to system file corruption.. installing custom kernels not provided in the rom causes this problems... solution is just use another rom instead of this one..
ON THE OTHER HAND IF ur phone is not rooted and u didnt understand a thing above then probably u r using stock rom.. then the only problem that have occured is that the update package from where u updated your phone is corrupted!!
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM WITH UR PHONE HARDWARE COZ IT CAN RUN GPS, ATLEAST FOR ONCE..!!
so what u do is go back to 2.1 and wait for sometime for the update.. only way to do this is to download original 2.1 firmware from manufacturer's site (its troublesome!!!)
if u r unable to perform this on your own then just send ur phone for servicing to samsung.. u gotta spend money dude!! sorry!!

this time when you factory reset ur phone dont install any software.. see if gps works or not for few days..

Hi guys,
Right, so I've noticed that when making calls with the Sensation, if they are reaching the 10 minute mark, for absolutely no reason whatsoever the line will just go silent, before the call is dropped. The signal bar doesn't even change.
Has anyone else had this issue?

My phone also has dropped calls randomly but on random times I'm sure. Today it did it as well. I don't know why though. I hope to God its not a fault in the phone that can't be fixed with an update. I'd hate switching to s-on and stock recovery.

A complete n00b when it comes to Android and first post on this forum. Kindly excuse any inadvertant mistakes.
Thanks to the wonderful forum we have here, I managed to root and get the IC 2.5.3 ROM on my Sensation. And its working like a dream except for one small problem. Big problem really.
Calls keeps dropping, and there have been occassions where I was getting disconnected every 10 seconds. Patterns I noticed :-
1. Voice suddently drops. The call is still on and in about 3-5 seconds call gets disconnected.
2. This happens only in a wi-fi zone (mostly at home). When I am in a wi-fi off zone, this has never happened.
3. This was happening even BEFORE I flashed the custom ROM, (was hoping that the problem would be resolved), but no luck)
4. I suspect its because of an incompatible radio image in my country (India), but what do I know. Could a 4G enabled handset encounter such problems on a 3G network?
5. How can I get to know the best/most compatible radio image for my ROM . ( I searched, but nothing conclusive so far anywhere. I am not able to post in the developer thread because I am newbie )

I recently decided to buy a china phone that has the necessary spec to work in canada( in terms of frqcy). So my question is the following my phone works like a charm Wifi bluetooth ive gaming apps wifi file transfer everything works like a champ except my mobile network. Now consider this for two -3 days my mobile network was working on the HSDPA H+ network and man I was getting great speed. Now the problems is I decided to have fun and delv a little bit into rooting and using custom Roms but found myself with a bricked phone no problem reload factory fresh Rom and MTK droid tools new IMEI and voila phone working like a charm except insert SIM Card 8 second approximately after Ive received notice that I have a voicemail my phone shuts down and this happen every time it's killing how could this happen how is it possible is my carrier sending some type of lock on my sim is there a hardware issue with the phone how do I figure this out how do I solve this unsolvable problem if you are a genius in phones please respond with he most complex response you can heheh as i would really like to know why this is happening it's absolutely baffling to me.

OK since I haven't received a response Ive decided to A buy a new phone but in the mean time build app for my china phone that I can use to diagnose problems faster or for any phone Ill come back in May 20th 2014 hopefully have a new app to release and I will also be working on other things in life

Anyone know where to get a ROM for DG2 so I can try and fix my problems, or would a full reset help ?
I have a new one here that arrived 2 weeks ago from geekbuying, their support have ignored all my emails and so have Digoor, Chinese NY has
now arrived so thats another week with no spare phone.... Thank goodness my Meizu M2 and S6 Blade are OK
My 2 problems are handset goes to sleep / switches off many times if on standby, even with battery full, only way to get it back on, is to connect a charger and wait 2 minutes

My wife acquired the S6 last week and I helped her through the initial stuff of creating backup from her previous S3.
All went fine, all was where it should have been, nothing missing, great stuff.
The "Software Upgrade" utility inmediately tells you that there's an upgrade available to MM and I thought to myself "Well, that phone is from November 2015, the upgrade couldn't harm, in fact, it usually improves things", right ?
My wife asked if there was going to be an issue with the upgrade and if it would be possible to downgrade again....
So, I went to Kies3, which directed me to Smart Switch and I began the upgrade. After it was done I did a factory reset and the phone booted, all ok...so far...
I gave the phone to my wife (an avid Instagrammer) and she told me : this is not working, what have you done to my phone ? The nightmare begins for me...
1. Apparently the wifi signal was quite poor (even if sitting in front of the router). It takes some time to connect, which means that pages like Instagram, tumblr, facebook, even searches in Chrome take an eternity to load ! It didn't happen on version 5.1 apparently on her S6 (which I doubt) , and on her S3 it worked flawlessly. I have to say though that I experience the same issue on my current Z9 Max. I believe that the router (Glass Fiber connection) is quite old and not up to new standards, that's why it hangs with new phones. I only have wifi issues at home, any other router I connect to (Bars, brother home, mother home, at work) work perfectly fine. I will change the router as soon as I can, but I firmly believe it has to do with new hardware the router is not used to.
2. Mobile Data
They did not work at all... The look on my wife's face said it all "What the Eff have you done to my fresh new phone" ??? I'm asking this to myself also now...why did I upgrade this thing ? In the end I managed to get mobile data, simply by trying 3G, 2G, individual options and finally 4G worked again. But yeah, what do you do at home with a smartphone if you don't have an internet connection ?
Why did Samsung push-out this upgrade, why are they forcing messages onto the user that an upgrade is needed ? I mean, I've been using Android for quite some time and I've flashed many many Roms, installed software upgrades, I never ever faced any issue on my HTC or Nubia, all worked fine after an upgrade, at least mobile data were working always. Samsung is supposed to deliver top notch phones with top notch upgrades...how can they possibly offer/push something that might cause more trouble than joy ?
I assume a FW upgrade is needed as well, why don't they warn ?
Now the question.... if 5.1 worked fine, is there any possibility to downgrade the S6 to a previous Android version ? Would it be possible with Odin ?
I got an angry wife sitting at home , which is convinced that I only wanted to play around and didn't want to help her.
Have you guys experienced problems after upgrade to MM on the S6 ?
