WIFI authentication problem after heartbleed - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
I'm not able to login into my university's wifi network after they changed certificates for the heartbleed bug.
I can access to the network with all my other devices (nexus 7 2013 and macbook pro) but not with my moto g.
My university has 2 wifi networks called "USI" and "USI-5", if i'm not wrong USI-5 has an additional layer of encryption.
When I try to connect to USI, it says "Authentication problem" but USI-5 is not visible anymore from my moto g.
There's a way to check if it is trying to use an old certificate? I tried to to "Forget Network", reboot, airplane mode.. etc.. with no success.
The strange thing is that when I forget USI and try to reconnect again, it doesn't ask me for my username and password, that should be normal since it is a close wifi network.
I checked the file on /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf --> USI-5 is not listed (probably because I removed it) and USI looks like this
network={
ssid="USI"
key_mgmt=WPA-EAP IEEE8021X
eap=SIM AKA
priority=72
proactive_key_caching=1
}

I solved the problem by modifying network settings as follows: EAP method: PEAP, phase 2 authentication: none

WEP(open) EAP-PEAP Not connecting to Wifi

I am having problems setting up my WiFi connection with my SDA (HTC Tornado ...Tmobile unlocked) with Windows mobile 5 and i cant find a solution..please help me...
When using my laptop wifi connect I set up the following
Network Authentication OPEN
Data Encryption WEP
key is automatically provided (i tick this option)
Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network
EAP Type as PEAP.
Then under configuration of PEAP I uncheck Validate Server Certificate and authentication method selected as "Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2) and "enable fast reconnect" is also ticked.
With these settings it works perfectly well in laptop. But with these settings made in the SDA phone it gives the following error msgs ; "The server certificate is issued by an unknown authority" and "Cannot log on to the wireless network. This network requires a personal certificate to positively identify you."
I have done the registry edit (adding DWORD ValidateServCert=0). It stopped showing the message ""The server certificate is issued by an unknown authority". But the other msg still comes. Actually for PEAP we wont want personal certificate. I think this is a bug. Then i installed a dummy personal cert to cover this bug. Now no more error msgs, but internet is not connected.
Then i installed the root certificate (specific for my univ) i got from my laptop (windows xp). But no effect. I checked under root cert to see if it is there and i saw it there.
Sorry for this long story sometimes we need long explanations to fully understand the problem.
SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ....
try using a key that is not provided automatically. May not be the fix you want, but it works for me (never tried doing it your way).

[Q]Problem with some protected WI-FI networks

Hi, I would like to ask if anyone has faced problems while trying to connect to username/password requiring WI-FI networks. I don't know what is wrong, but my Moto G won't connect to my University wi-fi, accusing an authentication problem. The username and password are perfectly right and working in other Android devices, the problem is only with the Moto G.
Did anyone face similar problem? If yes, did you manage a workaround or something.
Thanks in advance.
I had a similar problem with my University WiFi. I had click the connection while it was trying to connect, and then edit the connection to choose my user name and password. I had to do this while it was trying to connect, otherwise it will give me authentication errors.

That old IT support favorite – turn it off and on again. Try turning the Moto G off and the router off and then switch them both back on again. That will often solve your issues.
If it still won’t connect at all, start by going to Settings > Wi-Fi and long press on your router, then choose Forget network. Scan again and re-enter all your details.
If the connection keeps dropping, go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Advanced and consider changing two settings. Make sure Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep is set to Always. Make sure Avoid poor connections is not ticked.
If battery drain is the problem, try Settings > Wi-Fi > Advanced and set Scanning always available to off.
Make sure that your router firmware is up to date.
To assess whether you need to change channels you can download the Wi-Fi Analyzer app and take a look how crowded it is.
You could try changing the other settings on your router. You might want to make sure that MAC filtering is off, or add your Moto G’s MAC address (you’ll find it in Settings > Wi-Fi > Advanced). You could also try setting a static IP.

WiFi issue with K1

I have the WiFi K1. When I'm at work - I can choose 2 different WiFi networks to connect to - 1 is guest access and is unsecured, the other is a secured network which is for employees and their personal devices. Up until today there was no issue. I was able to connect to the secure WiFi network using my ID and password. Yesterday afternoon my password changed. So this morning, I "forget" the network, then reselect it, add my ID and my new password. But the "connect" button stays grayed out and I can't tap it to connect. I went into the reset settings to reset all the network settings - that didn't work.
Anyone have any ideas why the "connect" button is staying grayed out and/or what I can do to try to resolve it? I have a OnePlus 3 cell phone - and that hasn't had an issue - I was able to connect this morning using my new password.
Thanks ..

[Q] Wifi "Connected, no internet"

VZW Pixel 2 on Android 10 // MyVerizon is not installed
When I connect to my employers wifi network for personal devices I do the following:
Select "Do not validate" for the CA certificate
Enter my username
Enter my password
Select "Connect"The phone then connects with the network, and reports that it's "Connected, no internet" and falls back on VZW data.
Per the IT helpdesk, I'm not being locked out or denied, and I confirmed this with an iPad connected to the same wifi using the same account a few inches away.
I've forgotten the network and rebooted and tried entering my username as the name only, the extended email address version ([email protected]), and with the domain name preceding it (domain/username). it al comes back the same.
The wifi network is a large corporate mesh network, my phone reports it is on 5 GHz and using WPA/WPA2/WPA3-Enterprise.
What else can I try to get connected? IT is "sorry" but "that's all we know."
You could try resetting network preferences located in the same place as your factory reset. It will reset wifi, Bluetooth and all. May help. It has for a few with signal issues.
So the "Firewall" team commented a cross post on our company Yammer... Apparently they block all private DNS, so I had to turn that off in the advanced network settings.
