htc tv app + aosp? - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Will the HTC tv app and ir blaster work if I switch to an aosp rom? I use my phone for a remote in my bedroom with directv. Thanks in advanced for the response

If I'm not mistaken it doesn't work. I'm pretty positive that I've seen that in AOSP threads

HDMI Input?

Hi,
Is there any possible way for HDMI or Tv input, say from a camera?

You mean like watching pictures from eg a camera on the DHD screen? If that's the case then no.
Edit: You can ofcourse always move the files to your microsd card and watch them that way.
Yes if you can get the camera streaming the signal over wifi. Other than that - no way you can get a live feed on the DHD's screen.

You can use the inbuilt DLNA feature to transmitt movies and music over a network.
But you need a DLNA compatible TV or a Xbox or ps3
I have some problem...

Wiimote

Now that some of you have gotten your hands on this device, could you try the wiimote app to test if it works? I know other htc devices haven't been able to connect, but with the new sense, I'm curious to see if it works. Thanks!
I am desperate to know this. I have seen people playing mario 64 with a wiimote and have yearned for that since. But dont really want a motorola to do it. Its not a deal breaker, but it probably should be.
Positive I read someone said it won't work. But if I had a Wii I'd give it a try.

More than likely won't work. Have not seen a bluetooth 3.0 phone work yet. You can check in the g2x forum I think they got the zmote to work.

For somereason devices running sense or touchwiz have never been able to use wii controllers. On my g2x I can only use it if I'm running cm7 or another aosp based rom

According to HTC's bluetooth spec it should work. Sense 3.0 BT stack has support for the bluetooth serial port profile which is I think what the wiimote uses. Have to wait and see, but there is hope.
Anybody able to test this?

Tested - Does not work.......
Hi guys, I tested this using the Wiimote Controller app by CCP [email protected] and can confirm that it would not pair with my Wii Controller.
If anyone has tried any of the other apps I'd be keen to hear from you as I'd love to be able to play all my old NES and SNES titles on my emulator on my new Sensation......
Damn...

Wiimote

Still no way to connect the wiimote or playstation 3 remote VIA Bluetooth ? I want this sooo bad LOL

From my understanding Wii mote won't pair with anything running sense. It runs flawlessly on my hp touchpad. Maybe try a true AOSP or MIUI and see if it works there.
Do you mean this?

[MOD] Somebody enabled Miracast for Nexus 7

I just found this on GitHub:
Somebody, called Kensuke, enabled Mircast (Streaming screen over WiFi) for the Nexus 7. I don't have mine here so I can't test it.
Maybe somebody can try it out.
It seems that he compiled the complete 4.2.2 ROMs with the addional Miracast Support.
Try it on your own Risk!

awesome! Cm should merge this feature. And now, we know Miracast is a software-related not hardward-related. Oh yeah.

Oh man I hope this gets baked into some ROMs! This is the one feature that I really want that the N7 doesn't have...
I would love this baked into a ROM
Would love to see this become a common feature for Roms.

Tried the Tilapia package for my 3g. It almost works. I'm going to play with it some more. Documentation for his app would be great. It's not straightforward.
Have there anyone a image now?

If someone would like to test it I did include the patch on my ROM, take a look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43489843#post43489843
So anyone able to verify this working?
Working fine here.

Well this is exciting. Hopefully there's enough demand for it so we won't be limited to just a handful of ROMs to take advantage of this.
I wonder if there is any way a mod like this could be packaged into an Xposed module? Or is it such a fundamental change that it has to be baked into the ROM?
I would test this out if I had a Miracast receiver already. Also I don't want to lose the tethering menu in my current tilapia ROM, so ideally if a ROM had both Miracast & tethering that'd be great.

Indeed.. lol. Would be nice if this eventually came to all CyanogenMod ROMs for all devices.

Maybe someone with CM coding experience can do that.

So you streamed your screen to your TV, no problems at all?
Is it smooth? How much does the Allshare dongle cost, I should get this instead of Android stick PC.

Tried both allshare cast dongle and Android TV stick (dual core rk3066 one), all works. Pretty much the same experience as my Nexus 4 with native wireless display.
With android TV stick, it lags a lot. Definitely not for gaming, no. But with allshare cast dongle, it works much much better..
In my country, the dongle cost me around $80

IR blaster

I was thinking about all the cool stuff that can be integrated to android wear. Well I think an IR blaster would be a very nice addition for people who use TV, AC, and other stuff. NFC and an LED notification light would also be a useful addition to android wear our any other smartwatches.
This is why I stick with the HTC One line of devices. I really hope the M9 has a Google Edition, otherwise I don't know what I'll do.
The watches would be nice to have all the sensors and transmitters as phones. But an IR blaster from the wrist would be sweet.

This is the only reason I stick with my Samsung gear 2 plus the camera feature.
Maybe we can get an app that will control the ir blaster off our android devices since my z2 tab has an it blaster using my smart watch to control the ir blaster would be great
