Hi all,
I have built an app, tested it and it works fine. I would like to licence this app out for other android developers to release using their accounts on the play store. Is it possible to build an apk file and give it to other developers to release? or will I have to give them the source code to the app to compile themselves?
Thanks in advance!

I just released the source code of some of my reverse engineering work on the android market protocol.
I hope it'll help to make the market better by providing more alternative clients.
Android Market Api (google code)
Any help or feedback accepted !
Would you give me a brief example and some documentation of how to use your API different from google code, it is just what I am looking for. I am new to Java coding. Thanks.
Thank you for this.. will report back when I check it out.
Hello,
I am trying to develop an app that can support video chat on Android. I am looking for an API for the same.
I have tried skypekit but have been facing issues with building the libSkypekit.so library.(I tried the same for about a week with no luck)
I was looking at OpenTok API and that seems like a viable solution. I need to develop a native app since I need to be able to add other tasks to the app as well. Has anyone implemented this before?
Also, what would be the licensing fees to put such an app out in the Market?
Are there any other APIs(Free or paid) available for Video chat on Android?
I would really appreciate any help.
Regards,
Sheshambika
Dear Friends,
I am a noob to the forum so excuse me if I make any mistakes... I am trying to bring the GNU/Linux echo system to android.
I have cross compiled and packaged gnu bash 4.2 and released on the play, the same will be available for free from bitcubate.com.
Also I have a Super Switch User app which silently grants root permissions, it is geared towards developers. My plan is to make available all Multi Arch GNU tools available on Android, I'd be happy if I could find developer pals who would join this effort.
I would like to have suggestions from you what an average power user / developer needs to have on his phone, so that I can make such apps available, or we could work together.
Currently I am bringing GCC toolchain to android to enable on device compiling but I am a bit stuck...
I have attached my apps so that you may test drive the same and tell me about the experience... Also if you found them useful, I don't mind that you support me by buying the paid version from play store
Hope to hear from you guys.
Best regards

GNU GCC Compiler
GCC Compiler is also available now... will make it free asap or as I get motivated

Really great work, it's of no use to a basic user such as my self, but great job nonetheless!
Thank you very much Robert.
I' ve downloaded all your apps.
But can't find "The Rooting App", not found in the Play Store.
Please fix this.

Thanks and Thanks to all who thanked me...
Now the rooting app is free, credit goes to Bin4ry for the idea.
It got banned from play store... huh, google is watching me he he
Sources are included and I prefer GPL v3 , but I give right to Bin4ry and only Bin4ry to modify maintain and distribute it according to his terms/license.
Read http://www.bitcubate.com/stairway-fast-root/
Bin4ry is willing to take up the work and I thank him. Couldn't attach in message, so a post here.
It does only a subset of what Bin4ry's rooting tool uses.
Known issues: The tool needs to be run from desktop (path is hard coded and or windows phone usb drivers must be installed)
Remember to thank and donate to Bin4ry as rooting is the cornerstone to a users freedom to use FOSS software. Without rooting tools future operating systems and roms can't be installed. So its awesome hackery/majik what he and others did.
As soon as Bin4ry takes over and wishes, the attachments will be removed.
Check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460 for updates when acknowledged.
Kind Regards

Hi,
I just stumbled upon the new project Siena, an app that allows you creating Windows 8.1 apps within Windows 8.1 without any programming needed. The cool thing is, that you can also use this app on Windows 8.1 RT.
Since the Project is open beta right now, there aren't many resources arroundand I'm still a little unclear about the abilitys of this.
My intention with this thread is to share what you discover, develop or what you have trouble with.
My first question is, what apps can you think about buissnes apps aside? Do you think, one could create a XDA-Forum app with this?
And how does the publishing work? Do you need a developers license to install your own applications? Can we simply share .appx -files, or do we need to use the store?
Here is the official page of
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/projectsiena
Happy Holidays and best regards,
Kalle
Update: As it turns out Microsoft allows you to publish apps created with Siena to the Windows Store, as the guys from SurfaceGeeks already published the first two apps and the other good news is that apps created with Project Siena also work in Windows RT.

I believe you need some sort of license to publish to the Windows Store because you need a license when you publish from Visual Studio
Hello everybody,
like I guess quite a few people here, I develop for Android in my free time, and this is my second app. It's a finance tracker, hopefully an evolution to the well-known MoneyWise. I decided that I wanted a new one since, although MoneyWise is definitively useful, it's ugly and its usability is a little bit too cumbersome.
So, I made LBudget with the Material Design principles in my head as much as I could and, if any of you uses the Google+ app, you'll hopefully find the navigation relatively familiar.
The app is still in Beta phase (using the Google Play platform) and, because of the current condition of Android L, it will remain as such at least until a stable release is commercially released. Nevertheless, I would like to use the time until then for the app to be tested and improved. If you would like to contribute by installing it, you'll first need to follow the annoying Google Play standard procedure:
Join the testing community at https://plus.google.com/communities/117254163315407088886
Register as a test at https://play.google.com/apps/testing/org.jorge.lbudget (use the same account with which you joined the testing community).
Download the app in the link that the aforementioned page provides once you become a tester.
For reporting bugs, requesting features, or such, I want to really encourage you to utilize the project GitHub issue tracker, but if you don't know how to use it just leave a comment and I will "port" it to GitHub.
Also, if you're interested in contributing but not using Android L yet or simply don't want to install the app, you can contribute to the translation project at https://crowdin.com/project/lbudget
Went to check this out, but it says I need a newer SDK version. I'm not on L, anyway to make it compatible with 4.4.4?

Well, the app is compatible with L+, so understandably if you try to install in 4.4.4 you cannot. Probably it is feasible to adapt the app to 4.0+, but my intention was knowledgeably using only the new features of L to become familiar with it.
