This is my APN settings page. I have T-Mobile but the APN always defaults to the METROPCS one. It works fine but I have slower speeds and less LTE availability than when I manually switch to the T-Mobile one... I'm on Paranoid Android. My mom's nexus 5 is still stock and has only the T-Mobile one, but my dad's phone, running Cyanogenmod 11 Installer Edition has the MetroPCS one... Why is it there only in the custom ROMs? And how do I set the T-Mobile one as default?
Thanks!

To clarify: it resets to the MetroPCS one on every boot

Remove the APN and it won't set it to it.

Is there anything to worry about if I delete the MetroPCS APN?

There shouldn't be, unless you're actually using MetroPCS.

Disconnect and connect the cable from the phone while this screen is up. Does the trick unless your device can't be activated for some reason.

You need to connect it to itunes to activate the phone, are you using ATT ? My guess is no cause they didn't activate it at the store ?

I think you should take your phone to the iPhone care center.

AT&T Sucks

The AT&T Galaxy S3 got 4.1.1 today, even though it came out months after our One Xs. What's the hold up AT&T?
Cool story bro

Samsung is a little better with their updates. Nothing against HTC, but it seems to me that they've got some delays on their ends pushing the update to the carriers.
Granted AT&T has their issues as well

Not so much. All of my friends with Galaxy S2s had to wait forever to get ICS. I'm pretty sure the hold up here is AT&T.

Didn't we just lock two of these threads?
AT&T plays favorites with the sgs3, so I guess it makes sense that hoxl will get update after the sgs3 in addition to after the release of the hox+
Here we go again...

Losing data connection except just G?

I clean flashed a ROM and since I have only a G in data up in the status bar. It goes in and out with no data. I have tried just about everything I know. I restored to previous ROM. Pulled battery and sim. Changed APN to default (which actually gave me a 3G in status bar but short lived). Any help would be grateful. I googled and have searched forums all over to find no direct solution. Thanks. Only been on android for about 3 months so it may be a simple fix.

Maybe a modem problem? Dig around, you can install different modems in cwm. Talk to who made your rom. They might have a better answer.

Would it be that even though I revert back to cm10.1 and still no data?

You can always give it a try, there's a video on here about it and what he describes sounds similar to your issue.

Thanks. I sent ROM maker a message and I will check the link out. Stuck with only WiFi until then.

That sucks man. Hope he's got a better answer for you. I assumed you already checked your settings, I know I have an option to turn data off.

Wifi tethering?

My last two phones have had CM with wifi tethering beautifully integrated. This will be my first nexus phone and I assume CM isn't a option yet.
My question is what is the best option to get wifi tethering up and running tomorrow when I receive my N5? thanks!

Choices Choices
Thanks, any recommendations?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
I'm sure a native tether hack will come out, just wait a week or two for someone to figure it out
If you're on sprint, none of those choices work.
Sorry I should be specific, I'm on T-Mobile

wifi tethering is built-in to stock android. check settings, wireless & networks/more, then tethering & portable hotspot.

Nice! I wasn't sure if those settings were added by CM when I flashed it on my other phones. Thanks for the confirmation!

Sorry for hijack.. But out of curiosity :
If you use the phone to tether.. Does it natively use wifi AC?
Would be cool for my laptop

KitKat has the Radio Band Selection broken via *#*#4636#*#*

Tried changing the radio band on the Nexus 5 using the *#*#4636#*#* and it crashes. Apparently it has been a problem since 4.2.0. Has anyone been able to fix this or knows of a fix for this..?
When does it crash, opening up or switching the band?
It works for me when I switch from lte/gsm to any of the others. Is this what you're trying?
