[TMOBILE SIGNAL] signal rarely come back after lost connection - Verizon HTC One (M8)

I wonder if anyone have use verizon htc one m8. On Tmobile. My phone keep disconnect very ez and signal wont automatic come back. Sometimes i see theres 1 bar of signal, but i cant make a call or send sms. I have to manually turn on and off Airplane mode to send sms or call.
I have try 3, 4 customs ROMS so far: GPE, VIPER( i choose Tmobile in setup carrier), STOCK ROM( cant send sms of mms or call while full signal) i wonder if anyone have same experience.

Wait, you're using a Verizon unit on TMobile? I'm surprised you can send an sms or make a call at all, given that vzw is CDMA and tmobile is GSM... I don't know how you'd even get that to work

HTC one m8 from verizon is unlocked version, it support most of carrier, that is wat i know.

I wonder if any dev can look into this problem .

Actually, I've been having the same problem on VZW.

I was just about to post about this, I've been having big issues on vzw. I've lost voice connectivity completely, only 4g works and even then it comes and goes. I've tried flashing firmware and radios, new roms, but nothing. I'm about to try a full ruu and see if that does anything, I suspect it's a Sim issue though.

Verizon M8 on Tmobile call end issue
I am having similar issues where every once in a while the call ends right after dialing. The phone is Verizon M8 rooted with Insertcoin ROM being used on tmobile. LTE and SMS works. I'm wondering if flashing just the new firmware 1.55.605.2 would help. I remember having similar issue on Tmobile S3, it was fixed after they release a new firmware.

I just want to make this topic jump to page 1.please help us if anyone know how to fix this.

I tried flashing ATT & Tmobile radio.img files, but the signal was totally gone. The phone is still flaky when LTE is on, currently switched it to CDMA/GSM to see if the call end issue resolves.

I tried many signal mode with thunderbolt lte ( search on google play) but no help. Im out of option now. I think the only way is that htc release a bug fix or new firmware.

same problem guy...no more 2/3G.
Where we can find full ruu ? I think only that can help

I hope they come up with a fix soon, I am thinking about getting a tmobile brand M8, the data speed gets really slow every now and then.

Y'all should jump on the ViperOne ROM 2.2.0. It is doing good for me. Still has some signal issue, but it is like 95% better now.

I have ARHD 8.1 and it's doing really good. I have to toggle airplane mode on and off. But then I stumbled on this, but haven't made any sense on it
http://grokbase.com/p/gg/tasker/127st9fkt9/will-this-profile-work-airplane-mode-when-no-service

Try a different radio. The .0222 radios were giving me problems and I switched back to the .0321 radios. Your mileage may vary

No 4G after 4.0.4 update, T-Mobile

Called T-Mobile up, it is a software bug that HTC is actively working on. In the mean time, I have NO 3G/4G. I'm stuck on GSM 2G. :/
They coughed up the data portion of my bill, which was nice. Is there any way to fix it in the meantime?
I get 4G fine!

Same here. Not getting 4G. Seems like quite a few is experiencing it. Look at the Tmobile support forums for HTC one S.
Flash a custom Rom, get 4g back. At the very least I would root and take a look at the build.prop settings, might be something simple in there. If you'd like, upload your build.prop file so we can check out out

I'm going to attempt to run the RUU to go back, but I doubt it will work since I'm downgrading. :/

Would I still be able to revert back to stock rom jus incase I have to return it.
Well... now that I can't downgrade via RUU... :/
Alright, I can't take it anymore. CM10 didn't fix the issue AT ALL. I am stuck on Edge no matter what ROM I'm on.
Here is the thread on T-Mobile's forums about the problem
support.t-mobile.com/thread/33209?tstart=0 (I'm a new user here, can't post links, you'll have to cut and paste)
The problem appears to be specific to certain phones. I tried my SIM card in a demo phone at the T-Mobile store and we updated their phone to the latest version while I was there and it did not have a problem connecting to the 4G network.
I checked the software versions on their phone vs. mine and they all match.
This update contains a new HBOOT and radio update. Because of the HBOOT update, there is no way to roll back to a previous version. I am guessing that the problem is with the radio update since custom roms do not appear to fix the problem. Because of the new HBOOT, there doesn't appear to be a way to downgrade the radio either.
I contacted HTC and they were no help. They told me they were aware of the problem and were working on it, but had no ETA for a fix. T-Mobile told me they were unable to exchange the phone since there is no guarantee the new phone won't have the same problem.
The problem is a hardware issue with the one s.
Turns out a chip is fried affecting your 4g.
Even after installing another Rom, it won't fix your problem.
Happened to me and I got mine replaced.
It's not specific to the 4.0.4 update. It affects non upgraded phones as well.
If your not getting 4g then you got a bad phone.

I was getting 4G fine right before the update. Right after the update, no 4G. Others have had the exact same problem caused by the update. T-Mobile says it is a problem with the update affecting certain handsets. HTC says it is a problem with the update affecting certain handsets.
Are you saying the process of applying the update is frying certain handsets since the problem is only showing up by applying the update?
There is no 4g for the one S because the chipset does not support 4g.
If I helped in any way please hit thanks
I happened to encounter this issue. But my handset was defective because it was brand new and I'm stuck on 2g. I am waiting on a replacement phone. I literally just had it delivered today and it sucks having this problem right out of the box.

That is how mine was. My phone got "4G" (HSPA+) before the update, no luck after the update.
Same problem here with 4. 0.4. Went to CM10 and got 4G again. My MMS doesn't work though
I actually had this happen on the phone I bought directly from my local T-Mobile store last Friday (10/05). I went back in the next day after discovering the thread on the T-Mobile support forums, and they exchanged the phone for me in-store, there on the spot. I have perfectly functioning 4G now, but I'm terrified to run the update for fear of it happening again.
Does any one know if there's any kind of data specifying a certain production run of phones, or anything of that nature?

Are you retarded?
trmacdonal that is not very nice.
And not really in any way helpful.
According to the most recent post in the T-Mobile support thread, HTC is aware of the issue, has no idea what is causing it, and has no ETA for a fix. Glad I went and got another phone when I did, but I'm fairly miffed that I can't update without fear of turning my smartphone in a, well... phone.
Interesting that this happens only after the 4.0.4 update. I'd like to keep my fast connection; is there a way to keep the phone from downloading and applying the update?
I had a similar issue with my HTC G2 two years ago. HSPA icon appeared, but only one arrow would flash; no connectivity. I could connect to the Internet only using 2G and WiFi. Some devices had the issue, others did not. It lasted for about a month or two, then the issue magically disappeared. Perhaps they rolled updates when the problem occurred and resolved, I'm not sure. If I disabled WiFi on the G2, sometimes the HSPA would connect; there seemed to be an issue switching from WiFi to HSPA. Unfortunately, it sounds like the One S has a slightly different issue. I'll continue to monitor this thread and the one at support.t-mo.

[Q] Galaxy S3 R530U 3G connectivity problem

Ok so im a noob to US cellular, but had a At&t S3 and many other phones and have done alot of rooting, custom roms, etc. installing, and never had this happen, I guess i'm trying to say the development for this phone isn't as high as the other bigger carriers. But I had multiple issues with several of the us cell roms for the s3 and last night i tried to put cm10 stable from the official website and afterwards now my phone only gets 4G lte, and the data works but when i go to send a message or call someone it doesn't work! When i go to mobile networks in more settings and switch to cdma only, i get the circle with the line through it or my phone roams non stop! As i know the 3G antenna or what not is the voice and texting part and the other antenna is the 4G lte one, so i think when i flashed either the cm10 or the k747 kernel one or the other screwed up that part of my phone? Has this happened to anyone else and if so could u find a solution? And yes i called us cell and they went through everything and said it must be hardware related, so idk if i have any other option but to send it in or do a warranty exchange. Please let me know if any of you have had this happen, I miss my phone and have never had this happen Thanks! Let me know if you need more info also!

OTA update killed all data connections

I am on T-Mobile since April and everything has been fine except the known LTE handoff issue, I just keep the phone in UMTS always.
The night of Oct 28th I received an OTA (not a system update) and I guess it changed radio settings or updated the firmware. Ever since, NOTHING I do will get the phone to pick up ANY data signal on T-Mobile. Did Verizon decide to block the Maxx from use on other networks???
On wifi everything is fine, but I get no GSM data, no Edge, no 3G, no HSPA and no LTE. I can't receive any media text messages either.
Can anyone tell me what the hell happened?

Phone is non-Dev edition (as far as I know), I'd be happy to even put another ROM on this thing if possible, I know there is a MotoX ROM that also fixes the LTE issue on the Maxx.
I use this as my primary/business phone so it's really unconvenient to have no data while im out and about during the day!
Please help!

Try a factory reset, and reset your APN to default, and re-enter the settings. As I stated in the other thread you posted in, update is working great for me, and Verizon can't lock the Maxx/Ultra/M to their network as part of the FCC's Block C agreement.

Ok, I did the factory data reset and and it's still the same.
One strange thing I noticed is that it will say 3G or 4GLTE in the status bar right next to the signal strength, but it's grayed out, and only present when wifi is turned on. As soon as I turn wifi off, the 3G or 4G logo disappears instantly.
It did this both before and after the reset. regardless, when I'm not on wifi I have ZERO access to data networks.
Phone worked great on tuesday, and now it's pretty much useless after Verizon update. How can I roll back to the previous firmware ?
you could try replacing the radio from previous version.

I have a droid maxx on t mobile and i have had no problem using H+ instead of LTE for txting and data here in chicago...
but last night i accepted the XLTE (1FF-obake_verizon-user-4.4.4-SU5-23-release-keys.xml.zip) OTA and quickly realized that t mobile data no longer worked. I tried to revert back using RSD lite but that failed due to downgrade protection...i was thinking i would have to just flash a 4.4.4 gummyrom over stock and move on but then i remembered i had an old twrp backup of 1FF-obake_verizon-user-4.4.4-SU4.21-release-keys.xml.zip from earlier in september
you must have an unlocked bootloader and twrp installed to restore the backup but the restore was successful and bypassed the downgrade protection...gsm carrier data was once again working...
i will post a link to my twrp backup once it finishes uploading...and if anyone else has a 1FF-obake_verizon-user-4.4.4-SU4.21 stock twrp backup they could share that would also be a huge help
ps.youre only chance to unlock your bootloader is sunshine or stumproot or another on of jcases masterpieces if it wasnt already patched by this last XLTE update

Go inside the Droid Ultra Original Android Development and look for thread with [Radio] in the title. The latest that comes with VoLTE update was posted by CrazyRussianXDA (this is the one inside your phone now), previous versions were by Topsnake. Create a folder called fastboot and extract the files there. You must download the fastboot tool here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790, install it into the same fastboot folder. Just follow the simple steps and yes it is possible to do it on stock non-developer version. Just for precaution, do not copy and paste the command, type them in.
So I haven't changed a thing on the phone. This morning I re-entered the SAME APN info yet again with no luck.
Today around noon, while driving my phone suddenly starts getting emails and now seems to be working fine. Even the LTE handoff issue on T-Mobile seems to be gone.
I have no clue. . . but it works now!
I GREATLY appreciate everyone's help on this matter! Maybe an issue to watch out for in coming weeks ?

Yea I have it set to automatically select network now and it's sitting on my desk in LTE mode, yet I can pick up the phone and make a call no problem.
It used to always drop the first call and then if you redialed while it was in HSPA it would make the call.
Texting working fine too.
T-mobile had told me that they were having some data issues in my area, so I wonder if being halfway across the county today at lunch did something. The original problem was definitely something with the phone because if wifi was turned off, it wouldn't even display a G, E, 3G, or 4G logo. And with wifi on, the logo was grayed out and totally nonfunctional.
but maybe talking to another tower did something with the radio. . . . . . no idea really. Shooting in the dark here!

I just applied the upgrade. Ultra on T-Mobile. I have no data anymore. I can't even pull up a web page. I am able to call and text no problem. The strange thing is at the beginning of October I moved from Verizon to T-Mobile. Verizon sent me the Android upgrade. Hopefully this will resolve itself over time. I've tried rebooting the phone a couple of times and messing with the mobile settings...but nothing. Phone info app shows me it's registered to T-Mobile and the Signal Strength is around -110dBm. It shows me GSM Service as "In service" and the GPRS Service as "Connecting", Network type LTE, GSM disconnects:==========DATA========
(UPDATE) I called t-mobile support and they were excellent. Short and to the point they stepped me through adding the APN info, and data is now working again. Prior to the upgrade it was working without any APN info. The old problems I was having with SMS messages not being sent, and having to redial 2 or 3 times to place a call are gone. My Verizon Droid Ultra is now working perfectly on T-mobile. Just ran a speedtest on 2-3 bars with 4GLTE and I got 13Mbs down and 8Mbs up

vzw m8 on t-mobile: can't reconnect after losing signal

I've got verizon m8 with "Unlocked 4G LTE" off ebay, and I'm trying to make it work on t-mobile US.
The problem I'm facing: everything seems to work (LTE included) until it loses the tower (because e.g. I'm moving between towers). It then gets stuck with one bar signal in the status but no actual connection, and it's not even trying to reconnect.
Resetting network by toggling airplane mode on/off brings signal back.
Phone is soff/rooted/supercid with latest firmware (6.21.605.3).
What I tried so far:
- changed sku_id in default.xml to TMOUS (and LRA_US, as set by s-rom)
- tried to flash att and wwe radios - no signal after this, reverted to stock
- enabled all cdma and lte bands in qpst
- tried latest s-rom and viper
- tried different options for "preferred network type": gsm/wcdma/lte, cdma/evdo/gsm/wcdma/lte etc
Nothing helps
any hope or time to get rid of it?
thanks

spent a week on this and gave up. Best solution is to sell and get a used t-mobile version :-/ Just did this and t-mob edition gets a much better reception in addition to not losing towers.
I saw multiple people claiming to be successfully using gsm/lte on vzw m8 and I'm really curious if it's something I missed or there is some kind of different hardware involved.

Network goes out randomly

Hey guys I was gifted a (used) M8. It came with the lastest official CM12.1, everything unlocked. I have found that network will stop working randomly and switching airplane mode on and off will do the trick. Thing is, I have missed important calls because of this. I've already researched the subject and no one seems to have a solution. This post is my last attempt at fixing this issue. Only details I can give you is I am using a Verizon phone on MetroPCS, and I suppose that has something to do with it. Also, is there any (preferably free) way to get my phone to automatically switch airplane mode on and off every 15 minutes or so when the screen is off? Thanks in advance!

Have you tried using a stock ROM or changing radios? Is your firmware up to date?
Can't speak from experience from using a cm12 ROM, but generally stock usually works better with signal over AOSP, especially if you're in a poor signal area.
I used to have similar problems, turned out WCDMA and LTE bands that my carrier used were disabled.
For my case (T-Mobile), I simply activated WCDMA 2 & 4 and LTE 2 & 4 and now have signal almost 24/7.
You can do this with CDMA tool since your phone is Verizon branded.
As for automatically cycling Airplane Mode, I'd imagine Tasker can do that.
