Hello, i want to ask if there is a method to backup /sdcard/ where photos and videos are stored?
I only have CWM-based Recovery v.6.0.1.9 by NoThrills for A510 running ADB doesnt work and with fastboot i can only send data too the tablet. with the recovery i backuped /data/ but ther is no folder with photos in it.
Is there an updater script which can write all data on the tablet too an sd card ?

Hello everyone,
I just purchased my first android device a few days ago, a Coby Kyros 7012 tablet. Yes it's not the greatest thing out there, but it's cheap and does what I need - or at least it did.
I successfully rooted and reflashed the rom, but then accidentally wiped the boot/system files.
So now I have a $100 paperweight I need to fix. Here's my situation:
1. Tablet, by default, boots into "fastboot" mode.
2. I don't have recovery files, but I've downloaded generic nandroid recovery files.
3. I've flashed ClockWork using fastboot, it loads properly. However, I can't used the nandroid recover option because I don't have an SD card.
4. I've tried flashing the nandroid recovery files(boot.img, system.img, data.img, etc.) through fastboot one at a time, but the tablet gets stuck in a boot-loop.
Basically I have access to clockwork and fastboot, and I'd like to know if there's a way to fix this thing without an SD card.
Thanks in advance for any help.
I'm pretty sure you need a SD card. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah I dug around a little more and haven't found any info. on my question, so I'm just going to assume there's no way around it.
So I picked up a cheap SD card, and nandroid restore works, but I get an "Oops something went wrong" error every time I try to flash.
Problem-spot in the recovery.log file probably starts here:
Restore: BCDEARS-20111207-0146
Restore backup ?
Press Search to confirm,
any other key to abort.
Restoring : .cat: can't open '/proc/emmc': No such file or directory
cat: can't open '/proc/emmc': No such file or directory
cat: can't open '/proc/emmc': No such file or directory
cat: can't open '/proc/emmc': No such file or directory
So i installed CM9 on my transformer and everything was ok. Eventually it turned off for some reason and kept getting stuck in a boot loop. I wiped everything using CWM 5.8.3.4 but now my tablet is stuck in CWM with no ROM to load. I cant mount my ex SD card and i cant mount my internal storage either. What do i do to fix it?

Do you have ADB access - i.e. is it visible on the PC? If not, first try cold reboot (Power + Vol-down for 12 seconds, then wait) undocked from keyboard and with USB disconnected.Connect to PC via USB and reboot to try to get ADB. If you still don't have ADB I'm sorry I don't know how to help.
If you have ADB, try this - it works on my TF101G. Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1681155 and download PERI-0.4 One click root+recovery V0.4. Install it on your PC, run the .BAT file and follow the instructions. That should hopefully give you Root and Rogue Custom recovery that allows you to flash from internal or external SD.
From here you can flash a custom ROM from either internal or external storage. I've found that this Recovery won't flash the Asus stock ROM though,
If you want a version of CWM Recovery that will flash from internal or external storage, now download ClockWorkMod Recovery v6.0.1.4 NoTouch Hybrid from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1855686 - click the Download link and get the cwm-6.0.1.4-notouch-hybrid.zip file (apparently the Touch version is currently broken). Copy to internal or external SD, reboot to recovery (Power+Vol-down for 12 secs, then Vol-up), wipe caches and flash CWM Recovery.
When you next reboot to Recovery, you should have a version of CWM that allows you to flash from internal or external SD.
There are other links you could have a look at too, e.g.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1681155

Hope you do manage to get it unbricked again.

Hello,
My partner's S7500T (Australian Telstra version) went into a boot loop after an update from a game and we want to recover some files from the internal sd card.
From other threads I've tried CWM 5.0.2.8 to get to the files but when I select mount USB storage, it brings up E:Unable to write to ums lunfile. Searching on the internet, I've figured it's a partially incompatible version of CWN for the phone since there isn't one available normally.
Is there any way we can get the files? Thankyou for any help.

USB Storage is not supported on Ace plus.
You can recover files using ADB (Don't know if it works in CWM), or flash Stock ROM.

Thanks, I ended up flashing the stock ROM. It worked fine
I've had my trusty rooted Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 for years. It's a T-Mobile SHG-T779. It does not have an external SD card installed.
But now, whenever I boot I get a popup "Unfortunately Google Search has stopped". The touchscreen won't respond to commands and after about one minute the tablet then attempts to reboot, but gets stuck at the SAMSUNG logo unless I press and hold the power button, then it reboots again.
Luckily I can boot into recovery, and even better adb connects fine!
I'd like to backup the contents of the internal storage but I think adb on the Tab 2 series is old because I can't get backup to work:
Code:
>adb backup -apk -shared -all
Now unlock your device and confirm the backup operation
This creates a zero-size file backup.ab.
I tried
Code:
adb pull
which saved a lot of files to my PC, but nothing from my internal storage.
Can someone please tell me:
1. How do I fix the boot problem?
2. How do I backup my data (images, videos, docs) from internal storage with adb?
EDIT: Additional Info: I recently updated SuperSU, and I have Stericson BusyBox installed.
Thanks!

Thanks, but the T779 doesn't support a custom recovery.
I ended up doing a factory reset.
