Moto G sim help - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Whenever I switch my Moto G on, it comes up with a screen saying sim network unlock pin. I think the problem started when I got the US version of Android, but I got it back to the GB version but problem hasn't gone. When I went to Tesco to sort out the problem, the man spoke to someone at Motorola and they tried some codes but nothing worked. I think he said that it had locked its self to a different network. Help?
Thanks

Not cool. Out of interest did you unlock via tesco themselves or code from eBay?
My dad is grabbing a phone from tesco tomorrow but uses giffgaff so I'll be interested to see how this turns out.

Cannot connect Moto G to MetroPCS

So here is my problem. I have the new Moto G I just recently bought from Amazon. It's the US GSM version. I thought the process would be easy, but to my surprise I cannot do this. Got the phone, popped my sim card in from my old LG Motion that I got from MetroPCS, entered the correct APN settings and when I go to save it and it disappears. The settings just *poof* gone. They are nonexistent. It only happens when I change the MCC or the MNC. It's default (with this sim card is 311 and 660) I am not able to change it to 310 and 260. It is driving me nuts! I have tried everything I could find, I've even talked to Motorola support and they cannot help me. I thought it might be a firmware problem with the phone, I updated it right away to 4.4.2. I'm starting to think this phone is broken. I pissed away 200 bucks for a tablet like device. >.< The phone is unlocked, but is useless at the moment. Can you guys please help me out? I ordered a new sim card thinking the sim card might be locked to the phone but I fear that may not be the case. But what research I did doesn't mention anything about a locked sim card. When I do put it in the Moto G, it looks for MetroPCS service, it displays my phone number, and when I enter in the information, without changing the MNC and the MCC I try to connect and select it as default and I get a "MetroPCS has no known provisioning website" I am really at a lost guys.

You must have a SIM card not that UCCID card that is in the motion. Call MPCS 1-888-8METRO8 from another phone not old phone not new phone. Get a rep. They will register new phone IMEI to that SIM card that you should have.

The post above me is correct. The card u put in your moto g is not a Sim card Although they look identical. Go to your local metro store and have them set one up for u. It cost me $25, and bam everything works great.

[Q] boost mobile CDMA asking for SIM. why?

Hello. First time posting in a forum. Many thanks to all who have guided me..
I had to give a friend my boostmobile moto g because I was so lost trying to get it back to working order. When he gave it back it worked in all ways except it now asks for a sim card. Its CDMA and never had a sim nor is there a spot for one. Does anyone know what went wrong and how to fix it. Its the 8gb and now has the cyanogenmod on it. I have no service on it now

Moto G LTE SIM card issue

Ok, so I unlocked bootloader through Motorola web site, rooted and used it from Wed through Sunday. Went to swap it over for wife and AT&T was closed so I cut down the SIM from her phone to use and it wouldn't read it. I thought no big deal and setup the phone on WiFi to go to the AT&T store in the morning and get a new SIM. Now it will not read any SIM card. This a known issue or a new problem, or did I somehow fry the SIM slot when I cut one down? Tried a reset with no luck, any help is appreciated.

Hey guy! Don't worry, i already had this problem. I just stock restored it and it started to work! Anyway, if it don't help you, do what my friend did: Install another ROM and after that install the Motorola's ROM.
Hope I helped you!
Sorry for the English...
