If you root flash the stock rom tweaked then any boot animation changer on play store. Keeps from having to dig around back up then replace.

I would like to know where the bootanimation.zip should be put, and do dr honks cwm kernels work with bootanimation.zip?
Thanks
If the bootanimation.zip isn't for gs4g it wont work but u can extract the bootloop and boot animation files and push it into systems/ media

I am trying to make a bootanimation.zip using this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=862537 but when i put it in system\media, all i get is a black screen.
The phone only recognises .qmg files for boot you can't put a zip in there

Is there any rom or kernel that supports bootanimation.zip?

The current GB roms don't support bootanimation.zip but the froyo ones above kb5 or with drhonks kernel does.

Is there a way to get rid of it without it keep force closing? Because it's something I don't need and it takes up ram

You can use titanium backup to remove it or flash a custom ROM that it's already removed from.

Or just delete the apk in system/app
I used root explorer and deleted it from system/app like lumin30 just suggested.
Delete wificalling from /system/app/ and reboot.
If you want you can also remove libkineto.so

Are you trying to remove it or just shut it off? Two different methods

You need to launch recovery and run the Aroma File Manager. Then go to \system\app and delete wificalling.apk.
Quit and reboot system.
No FCs, all good

Sounds like you might have to flash the boot animations separately from the ROM itself.
Do you have the .zip on this page? http://www.scottsroms.com/showthread.php?2095-12-11-CleanROM-Boot-Animations&p=15529
yup those are the ones... I run twrp and load the zip... aroma starts, I select the one I want, it installs and says success but the boot animation never changes.

What I did was just replace the bootanimation.zip file under system/media with the one you want. Extract it from the flashable zip file

Have you tried Font Installer? Works great for me.
Thanks Devs. From my VZW G2.

Rom toolbox, go into lg settings, pick any font but Roboto. Goto Rom toolbox, pick a font and download it. Rom toolbox will ask to reboot, do it.
Now after phone is restarted go into settings, NOW pick ROBOTO. It has become what you downloaded and installed on Rom Toolbox.
I restart again to make sure it's applied , throughhout

Does this have to be on paid version of rom toolbox?

Search Font Installer in the Play Store, it's what is included in Rom Toolbox.
Thanks Devs. From my VZW G2.

Yesterday I received Boot Screen update, but I don't like the bootanimation. I uninstall the update, but the bootanimation doesn't change. How can I go back to the previous bootanimation??
Sent from my XT1033 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
unistalling update wont take you to your desired need.
delete your update file from system/
confirm whether earlier boot screen files are there in your system
now reflash the rom
enjoy
good luck
