Where to put bootanimation.zip ? - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

I would like to know where the bootanimation.zip should be put, and do dr honks cwm kernels work with bootanimation.zip?
Thanks

If the bootanimation.zip isn't for gs4g it wont work but u can extract the bootloop and boot animation files and push it into systems/ media

I am trying to make a bootanimation.zip using this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=862537 but when i put it in system\media, all i get is a black screen.

The phone only recognises .qmg files for boot you can't put a zip in there

Is there any rom or kernel that supports bootanimation.zip?

The current GB roms don't support bootanimation.zip but the froyo ones above kb5 or with drhonks kernel does.

I posted this the other day. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1022687
How are you trying to flash it? Clockwork or RA?
Edit: If you are running a sense rom just rename to bootanimation.zip and put it under system/customize/resource. If on a AOSP rename it and put it in system/media.

Damn, 40 minutes to download... This new router I bought is slower than my old one Thanks a lot dman! I was actually waiting for a rooted version of this. Also a big shout out to Entropy!
Would there be a way I could put it in or would that be difficult or impossible

You would have to modify settings apk and a few other files...

HDMI and everything works on this rom....video works if you flash stock kernel back...
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
Also for reverting back to stock kernel after rooting...I just download that rar file and sgs can install from that? Just making sure because it seems like all other kernels I have used were zip files which I know both are basically the same thing.

Thanks, This is the best way to have a stock rom without the At*t apps... Thanks again.
Upon flashing the stock kernel, I've lost all external SD support... Anyone know a fix for this?
There is a fix for this problem by editing the vold.fstab file. There's a number you have to change. If you haven't found the instructions yet let me know and I'll send them to you when I can.

I miss the 4G icon.
I cane from the KK1 ROM. is there a way to get it back?
sent from a phone using an app
I guess I can take the png from the kk1 and put it in this one...that doesn't mean your getting 4g ...its just an icon

yeah i know that i could just edit the systemUI.apk to only have them. i just like the look of the 4G icon over then the H+ icon
is there a link to the download to the original kernel, so when I get flashed...I can use sgs to get back to stock for all the features.
also, what will I need to change to get external sd support?
thanks much for this dman, good stuff.

[Q] Whats the easiest way to Add sound to a custom Boot animation?

Boot-animation sound? What is the easiest way to Add sound to a custom Boot-animation?
Is it possible to just get a sertin format file and put it in a specific location to get sound on bootanimation?

This question has been answered. Please check forums before reposting.
I converted the sound to .ogg but my phone uses UI and it never said wut to rename the ogg file for the bootanimation. it says diff options.
Rename it to the name of your devices or rom s particular touch.ogg file that way your phone recognizes it...

I also wanna be able to make the sound to work on any ones phone as well as the boot-animation. So far I know the bootanimation works but the sound has been a problem.

I cannot find the file PowerOn.wav in the system/etc. Can I create one? Maybe this is the reason why I don't hear any sound when I am rebooting my phone

help with bootanimation

I have Eagleblood 2.5 with faux123 .46 kernel and I wanted to apply the stock g2x bootanimation and sound but i cant get the sound to work. The bootanimation works and the audio is in the /system/media/audio/poweron folder but its still not working. Is there a boot file that fetches the bootanimation and sounds on boot? Any help would be awesome!
Note: there was no bootanimation sound in the Eagleblood 2.5 rom so there was no /poweron file
Install morfic's T15 kernel and it will place the poweron folder for you ...you then can revert back to faux's kernel and the folder will still be there...then you can copy and paste your poweron.ogg file... make sure the audio file is named poweron.ogg...

OK thanks ill give that a shot and yea the file is named poweron.ogg

CM10 Boot animation

Any way I can flash this on my CM7 rom?
Thanks!
Sent from my toaster
Sure, push this to /system/media or /data/local:
http://goo.im/devs/tiny4579/mods/bootanimation.zip
The latter location allows easily reverting to the CM7 boot animation by deleting the file in /data/local.
Thanks!
