Go back to Previous Boot Animation!! - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yesterday I received Boot Screen update, but I don't like the bootanimation. I uninstall the update, but the bootanimation doesn't change. How can I go back to the previous bootanimation??
Sent from my XT1033 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

unistalling update wont take you to your desired need.
delete your update file from system/
confirm whether earlier boot screen files are there in your system
now reflash the rom
enjoy
good luck

Sounds like you might have to flash the boot animations separately from the ROM itself.
Do you have the .zip on this page? http://www.scottsroms.com/showthread.php?2095-12-11-CleanROM-Boot-Animations&p=15529
yup those are the ones... I run twrp and load the zip... aroma starts, I select the one I want, it installs and says success but the boot animation never changes.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
What I did was just replace the bootanimation.zip file under system/media with the one you want. Extract it from the flashable zip file

I'm on Verizon and from what I'm understanding we don't have the ability to flash twrp or cwm.
Is there any other way to flash this?

No I didn't. To be honest I didn't think it was out for Verizon. Anyways I'm still rooted.

Renamed the stock zip, renamed this one to the exact same name as the original stock and when I boot it just sits at the blue m logo. I also made sure permissions we're the same.

I guess your talking about the splash screen? Its the first screen that appears after you boot your phone and vibrates and then the boot animation starts
Here I believe is the splash screen or logo screen

Yeah that is what I'm talking about. I looked at that thread and those adb commands are out above my paygrade lol. I'll keep the white splash screen, it only is on for a sec before the animation starts.

When I replaced the whole file I just had the blue M with white background and no animation.

Z2 Sounds,Wallpapers and Bootanimation in ONE flashable .zip (Root/recovery required)

I made this .zip for personal use but after a few hours I uploaded it to share, this wouldn't have been possible without DooMLoRD's work so thank him, I just made a flashable .zip from this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2666849
The .zip includes
-Just 4 wallpapers that are named after the PS4
-The Bootanimation (see the video)
-ALL media/audio Files, you will get all the Kit Kat ringtones, notifications and everything
Download it from here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/elx6xtlojd9bmp6/XperiaKKmedia.zip
Put it in the external memory and flash it by regular CWM or PhilZ Touch. I didn't test it on TWRP
This is only the boot animation WITHOUT the sound: http://www.mediafire.com/download/3eux1bmytf3mu83/Z2_Bootanim_NO_SOUND.zip
And You didn't like the new 4.4 system sounds? Download the 4.2 sounds: http://www.mediafire.com/download/is8wj9wrvn7sxt1/Sounds.zip
THE BOOTANIMATION SOUND IS ONLY PLAYED IN ANDROID 4.3 AND ABOVE
First!
^ always wanted to say that.
Going to try this zip now.
Nice... - all in one zip - maybe to add one more zip with a bootanimation without a sound (just delete bootanim.mp3 from bootanimation.zip)
Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
Now for the people who don't want that loud sound when powering on or rebooting their phone here is just the boot animation WITHOUT the sound:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/3eux1bmytf3mu83/Z2_Bootanim_NO_SOUND.zip
(Flashable .zip too)
Love it

[Q] Root Flash then Revert Without a PC?

Just wanted to know if its possible to root (towel root) flash custom recovery and custom roms and then if I decide to later revert totally back to stock unrooted nexus without a PC. Ive attempted to read up on this but I'm a little confused that ill need to use SDK and ADB which i can't have access to at the moment or have the skills to use.
I've seen apps on google play to unlock boot loader once towel rooted but I'm just unsure if i can revert totally back to an unrooted nexus 5 with original recovery, without a pc as I'm using an iMac and having really unreliability with it :/
Id greatly appreciate any help :good:

There are a couple different options.
I'm not sure if flashify requires a unlocked bootloader. Root, flash custom recovery with flashify, make a backup. When you are done either restore backup or if stock already use flashify to flash stock recovery, delete root apps, unroot via supersu.
Boot unlocker I have heard will work to lock and unlock boot loader but I'm not sure about resetting the tamper flag.
Using fastboot and adb is always going to be the surest and safest way to root etc. Unless you are going to be submitting your phone for RMA there should be no reason to unroot. You can always flash a stock rooted ROM and just leave it.

Steps are;
-Download boot unlocker fr on play
-Download flashify from play (just in case)
-Download vomers stock ROM (number 6 in resources section in the link in my signature)
-Download stock recovery (number 7 in resources section in the link in my signature)
Firstly, flash the recovery zip via your current recovery and reboot
Then, reset The tamper flag and lock the boot loader
Finally, open SuperSU and use the full indoor option to remove Root
Good as new.
