Please help me! :crying:I have already went to different forms and read several threads, but I cant find any solution. I have a Samsung Galaxy tab 2-P3110 that is completely restored to factory settings except that it is still rooted. I tried to update its OS to 4.4 manually by using CWM 6.0.2.7(which is specifically for my device), flashed it using heimdall. At first it worked out fine, booted into CWM recovery mode. But i think i have downloaded a broken OS upgrade, because when i tried to install the package it said it was aborted. After that i never tried to install it again but started to wipe every data that i can wipe, I wiped the cache, the dalvik cache, even restored it to factory settings again. Then i selected boot system now, then it goes into a boot loop in CWM recovery mode, after trying some things like booting it into download mode and pressing the power button down for minutes but it doesn't turn off still the boot loop. Then I emptied the battery, didn't touched it for a couple of days, then charged it for hours, but when i tried to press the power button it didn't boot looped into recovery mode, and it didn't boot at all, all i can see is the empty battery logo when plugged. Even tried pressing all three buttons, and pressing power+down/power+up buttons still nothing. Is my device hard bricked? Help me please!!!
Update: Tried using oneclick unbrick tool (how noobish). It occurred to me that i can't even boot my droid into download mode or even simply boot it for cryn out loud, how can my PC read it. Maybe i should try making an improvised JIG for desperate measures hahaha.

i had a similar problem.. but did you try and go into recovery mode (using cwm)... press volume up and then hold power down until it switches off and then let go of power. you should see the tab 2 logo and after about 5 seconds should go to recovery mode.
volume up is the one next to the power button btw. not sure if that will let you fix it in your case (depending on you having a working recovery) but it fixed my softbrick (did a full wipe in preparation for new rom but rebooted instead of installing a new rom).
Thank you for the advice, but...

Thank you for the advice, but i have already tried that, given the title: Wont Boot, enter Recovery or Download mode. For the past few days I've been trying to accept that my device is officially bricked. Because I have read a forum about the difference between hard bricked and soft bricked, and when my device didn't enter both download or recovery mode I already knew that is a sign that it is hard bricked and that it would be hard to fix it because i cant connect it to my computer and try to force boot it manually. Now I'm feeling hopeless But once again thank you, because u tried to help me :good:
I think your recovery is out of date flash the latest recovery then try again.

To get to the most critical point first: You obviously didn't read the OP of the ROM thread as "everything P311x Android 4.4.x" needs to flashed through TWRP (recommended recovery for OMNI) or PhilZ Touch or CWM Swipe Edition (later two are recommended for CM11). That being said and out of the way...
- "Bootlooped when attempting to get into CWM"
Well... if your tablet is plugged in to the charger the key combo to either enter recovery or download mode doesn't work. Your tablet needs to be turned off (looooooong pressing power will turn it off in case it hangs) and disconnected from the charger/USB port. Of course, needless to say that you best have 50%+ charge at least.
- "Drained battery, doesn't charge"
No idea what really went wrong in your various attempts to breathe life back into the tablet, but if you drained the battery and now it won't turn on / charge but only show you the "empty battery" sign ... the only way to resurrect the tablet would be to open it up, take out the empty battery and replace it with a charged one to flash back Stock or the correct recovery to go from there again.
I don't know from the top of my head how many cables leads the battery uses to connect to the motherboard, but I assume there are at least three of them (+5V, GND, Charge monitoring). If you can't get hold of a charged replacement battery then you may try to use the trick AdamOutler posted on his YouTube channel? XDA TV channel? some time ago. This involves the use of a resistor across the +5V/GND pins (right there where the battery connects to the motherboard) to trick the charging circuit into actually charging the battery.
However, be warned that taking apart the tablet and tinkering around with the electronics requires SOLID knowledge, otherwise it's just a recipe for disaster (seeing how you already failed reading comprehension prior to flashing a ROM).
As a last resort you may try to post a question in the General forums to try and maybe get a reply on how to get the tablet to charge back up by giving it a shot with Adam's little trick. Alternatively there might also be a way to "hot charge" the battery by connecting it to a suitable power supply for a short amount of time (restoring just a basic charge as you can't possibly fully charge the battery this way - would be way too dangerous without proper charge monitoring).
If you manage to get it back to life you well better make sure you read "everything flashing" the next time you try to flash a ROM... using the totally wrong recovery can have nasty side-effects.
Don't recall if it is a li-poly or lithium ion battery if it is lipo I don't suggest attempting to charge it indoors I set a fire once in a tin pan attempting to charge an rc car lipo pack. It started off normal then about 80% charge it must have finished quickly and exploded yielding a surprisingly large flame.
But if he is right and a charge on the battery will cure it watch it very very closely.
Sent from my XT907 using xda app-developers app
It should be a Li-Ion battery pack.
However, "hot charging" the battery from a power supply is a dangerous task even with "just" a Li-Ion one. It shouldn't be charged for any longer than one hour tops, and depending on the amp rating of the power supply the +5V line should also be choked with a suitable current-limiting resistor to prevent too much current rushing into the cells; that could heat up the battery pack and lead to very unlovely effects like the battery going up in flames.
Like I said ... tinkering around inside the tablet, or with its battery, requires some SOLID, and SERIOUS, knowledge about electronics (i.e. Ohms law to calculate a suitable current limiting resistor value).
Anyhow, attempting Adam's trick (applying a "dummy load" resistor across +5V/GND to get the charging circuit to charge the battery) or pre-charging the battery might be the only way left to get the tablet back to operation - unless he wants to fork out some cash to obtain a replacement battery. Though, with a somewhat charged up replacement battery the "life saving" attempt should well better play out at the first attempt to at least get a recovery up and running (the tablet actually charges in TWRP, can't say for PhilZ/CWM Swipe) or have the tablet get into download mode (once connected to the PC it should draw power from the USB and leave the battery alone).
Though... on a second thought... shouldn't the tablet charge the battery with a lot less than 5V? Looking at the image of a replacement battery on Amazon it would seem the max. charge voltage is 4.2V (this may even involve a voltage divider to bring a 5V supply down a bit).
Typically you can charge a battery with a slightly hotter voltage.
.8 volts isn't that bad a car can charge at 14.4 volts for a fast charge (normally 13.8 tho)
I would charge it from a 100 ma USB charger till it hit 3.7 volts but then again I'm the guy who burned up his rc car....

First of all I'm very grateful for the concern and more grateful for the knowledge that u shared. i tried to remove the battery and putting it back again, guess what it did'nt work. :silly: I know I'm such a klutz for not reading all about this new OS, because i have done flashing a couple of times before with older versions that's why i felt confident in flashing this new one. I truly feel like an idiot now hahaha... Hope that it would turn on again even if only in the download mode. (Wishful thinking...)
Thank you again for the info, idea, suggestion, etc. etc.. :good:
I have a question. Do you think i accidentally destroyed my battery in my attempt to bring my tab back to life? I just drained it after reading a thread that says "drain the battery and charge it again". Is it the battery or did i just hard bricked my tab by being a complete idiot
btw isn't "Adam's trick" similar to the so called JIG method where you solder resistors/resistor to a micro USB plug? (I'm very sorry for my lack of knowledge, I'm just a medical student with a knack of tinkering with devices
@Nirdla01: To answer your posts from above...
About "was flashing ROMs before":
There's the trap. Each device requires a different strategy to prepare it for flashing a custom ROM; it's not as straightforward across devices - even within the same vendor - as you may think. The other trap, which isn't obviously clear from "just reading through the <insert name of ROM here> OP post" is that the more recent ROMs require an updated recovery for successful flashing.
To wrap it up:
CWM 6.0.2.7 is to be used with CyanogenMod 10.1.2 ONLY
CWM Swipe Edition, Philz Touch Advanced CWM Recovery and TWRP are to be used with CyanogenMod 11 or OMNI
TWRP is to be used with OMNI (with the official Nightlies it's even required so you can flash the nightly delta updates, to my knowledge CWM does not support the "OpenRecovery" scripting).
CWM Swipe Edition, PhilZ Touch and TWRP are all provided by AndroidAndi through his file repository on AndroidFileHost.
As for "destroyed battery":
No, I don't think you "destroyed" the battery. That's not easily doable. However, if the battery is deeply depleted the charging circuit may not want to start charging because it has to pull a whole lot of current (current = Amps). Normally a properly designed charging curcuit shut down in case it goes over-amp to prevent damage.
What I don't fully understand is that you can't get into download mode, though you said the tablet will at least show you the red "Battery Empty" screen for a brief moment.
Anyway, disconnecting and re-connecting the battery doesn't help you in any way. I would try to get some juice into the battery by using a silicon diode (that are the tiny diodes with that copper/brown glass body and the black stripe on one side denotig the cathode) in series with the +5V line coming from the power supply to drop the voltage to ~4.3/4.4V and let it try to charge for... let's say 30 minutes for a start while also keeping an eye at the temperature of the battery (just touch it every one or two minutes, and if it gets too hot to the touch (~ 122°F/50°C) disconnect the power supply and let it cool down if the 30 minutes aren't up already). BUT... Do NOT use any power supply outputting more than 500/750mA for safety reasons! Once you charged for some time connect the battery to the tablet's motherboard and see if it shows a change in charge (i.e. slightly green instead of red). If that works just charge it up a bit more until you're at ~50/60% charge.
Then prepare ODIN + Stock image or ODIN + custom recovery and see if you can get into download mode to flash (avoid having the tablet turned on for too long to save battery - once it's connected to the PC and flashing it draws power from the USB anyway).
If that does not work out no matter what you try, because you managed to screw things up really good, using a JIG to flash through JTAG is then your last resort of recovery (if you can get hold of a readily-assembled one or are able to build one yourself).
As for the confusion about the resistor. I wasn't referring to a JIG. I was talking about putting a resistor (possibly 10 Ohms I would assume) across the positive and negative pins of the pins where the battery connects with the motherboard (and while it's connected). That acts as a "current limiter". In this case the battery can't attempt to pull too much current, therefore avoiding the charging circuit from shutting down.
If you have any questions feel free to ask.
@BoneWithABeagle: Thank you for entertaining my questions you've been a really good help in my journey to revive this piece of brick  I'm sorry for asking these silly questions, as you know I'm not that knowledgeable about electrical stuff, and I find your advice and suggestions very helpful. So here's another question Can I use the usb cable maybe cut the part where the plug goes into the tablet and maybe connect the wires of that cable to the wires battery directly, then plug the cable into the adapter then try to charge it?
to give you an idea I uploaded some pics :fingers-crossed: btw please view the photos in another tab to see them fully because I've put red arrows as guides.

Not a terribly great idea for two reasons: The charger you got with the tablet will happily output up to 2.1 Amps... that's a whole lot of current and far beyond any safe attempt of trying to "hot charge" the battery to reinstate a basic charge. The other reason being the leads inside the USB cable. You cut them rather easily while stripping the outer insulation, but if you got a replacement cable in case the repair attempt works out have a crack at it.
So, while you can sacrifice the cable if you don't have anything better at hand, I highly recommend you to either use a power supply being limited to a much lower output amperage (5V @ 500<->750mA - you don't have any old phones?) or to torture Google to work out a suitable resistor to limit current from the Samsung charger (again, should be large enough to choke current down to 500<->750mA). Also be aware that a limiting resistor needs to turn quite a few Watts into heat. Layman's Estimation Formula: Volts * Amps ~= Watts. Burning away 1.35 Amps to bring it down to ~750mA ... the resistor has to turn ~6.5W into heat, and that's a lot even if it doesn't sound like much! So you need a ceramic power resistor which will get very hot to the touch (keep that away from things that easily melt). Every well-equipped electronics store should have such a such for some exchange money.

Hey guys, i've done the search button and still can't find any answers. First of all, all i've done to my phone : S-off, superuser, root. No custom ROM installed. i did that 2days prior yesterday and it was working and charging fine. So yesterday when i was playing paradise island my phone died. I connected it to the USB wall charger and left my room. After 3-4hrs, my phone is still dead. So i thought maybe the USB or wall charger is not working. I tried using my cousin Mytouch wall charger with the htc USB, still doesnt work but using my wallcharger with the mytouch usb, my cousin's phone charges.
When i try to charge my phone, the amber light comes on but its flashing, then after 3 times, light will stop
Troubleshooting i've done
I've tried numerous times to go to HBOOT, nothing
Removed the battery several times, nothing
tried USB charging through my laptop nothing.
Any help guys??
Same issue!
Please help with this!!

If you search you'll find that there is a problem and after installing CMW Recovery most phones will not charge if they're off, so if you let your battery drain to the last you will be unable to charge your battery trought the phone, no solution at this moment for this
Work arounds
- Charge your battery on a wall charger directly not trought the phone
- Charge your battery on an stock untouched Sensation

Wallcharger, is there one i can purchase??
Is the battery itself the problem?? because t-mobile, will sent me a new battery. I've only had this phone for 3 weeks. IF the battery itself not the problem, they will send me a new phone but i'm assuming that i've going to have to send the old phone back, is there going to be an issue regarding the warranty when i send the old phone to them???
it's not the battery, it's the cmw what's the problem. You have an older version of cmw.
I see, where to get the latest CWM? There's a way to go back to stock right?
Now i kinda regret S-OFF,ROOt, CWM ...lol..-.- i know it's my fault tho...
Once you managed to boot the phone again, you can install rom manager, from there you can easily install the latest cmw.
i have the latest CMW Still doesn't charge when battery at 0%
You would think they would test CMW before releasing....

I used CWM 4.0.1.4. From what i know its suppose to fix the charging problem. As of right now, im trying to manually charge my battery by splitting on of my old USB cable +wall charger. So hopefully this will work.
None of the threads in the entire forum are even remotely helpful if you can't even get the phone to turn on.
I can't reflash the recovery - if there is no way for me to get into the bootloader.
A wall charger hasn't helped - nor my N1 battery taped in.
NOTHING.
Please stop jumping a million steps ahead to reflashing the recovery - start with HOW TO TURN THE PHONE ON - bearing in mind that NOTHING IN THE FORUM so far has worked.

I've been using my brothers G2 battery (which doesn't fit) to turn on my phone.
But since I don't have a universal charger, and my phone wont turn on (I tried EVERYTHING) than there is no point to attempt to get into recovery unless I'm going back to stock.
Tl;DR CWM Needs to fix there shhhhhheeeet.
I finally manage to turn on my fone by splitting my old usb cable...i know somone said, its dangerous but it work for me....so do it at your own risk....now im juz looking for a safe wayto revert to stock w/o cwm, root, super user....might keep S-off tho
Any suggestion
If u need to start you fone....get a spare usb cable...and split it..remove the battery from your fone. Now tape the red wire to positive and black to negative....attach the usb to ur wall charger.....then wait 10- 20 min. Now remove ur battery then insert it back to you phone and turn it on. Once it starts, connect it to ur htc usb+ wallcharger.... once again, someone said its dangerous....so make this your last resort

Yeah. That didn't work for me. After splitting two cables - I decided to cut my losses.
Unfortunately I'm not in the US - and that's where I bought the phone. I'm going to try and find and independent vendor and see if they have a battery I can buy.
If not - I am ROYALLY screwed.
Yeah the battery/cwm combo is ****ed. So angry.
Do you have the one with the blue text? It's supposed to fix these issues
Swyped from my HTC Sensation
Sorry to revive this thread, but I am in the same boat. After trying to flash android on my brother's hd2, I noticed that the battery died. I cannot charge it since it has no ROM currently installed... Has there been a fix?
I have a rooted stock phone that stopped working for no apparent reason (no new ROM flashed, no configuration change). It starts, shows the Samsung logo, and immediately reboots. I tried to put it in download mode, when i hold the 3 keys I see the download logo showing up, but it reboots after a few seconds anyway. after a while it will start looping through the battery charge screen (which shows the battery as empty). I tried 2 different batteries with no change. Any idea how to get something working again?
That almost sounds like some sort of power issue. Have you left it sit turned off until the battery was full?
Yes, I left it overnight and it just keeps flashing the battery screen and then resets. I also have an external charger and used it to charge the battery, so it's not an issue with the battery actually being empty.
Have you been able to get the phone into download mode previously?
Have you have dealt with a boot loop and performed an Odin recovery previously? If not, remember it can take a few tries to get download mode to pop up.
If you can't get Odin to go, you might try flashing with Kies.
I am wondering if your phone met with some kind of disaster when you weren't around (trauma or liquid).

This sounds almost exactly like the problem I had with my Sidekick. In my case, it turned out to be a bad battery and a loose ribbon cable on the motherboard. I'd check those two things.
This happened to me as well, and the three-button method to get into download mode wasn't working. For some odd reason, for me to get into download mode all I have to do is hold down the power button + track pad, and it goes right into download mode... Maybe slightly different model?
Try that - power button + trackpad
Bootloops.
Not a guaranteed fix by any means but for troubleshooting purposes you may want to consider making a USB JIG. It will most definitely help you figure out just how serious the problem is and if it IS software related with a way to get it working again you will need the JIG anyway so its worth a shot. If nothing else you learn a new skill and you're the proud owner of an incredibly useful tool that you can say you made yourself. good luck!
I know this post is kind of old, but it just happened to me last week (same circumstance, a rooted phone, but stock). I ended up just pulling the battery out and pressing the power button a couple times to hopefully drian it and letting it sit for 15 minutes, and then I put the battery back in and it worked again. I now have another rom flashed on it, I hate stock.
I know this forum is ancient, but I'm working on an E-Bay phone with this exact issue. I found the following thread the most useful and informative on the problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1996709
Hopefully this helps other.
what i did was hold the power volume and button between the menu n back with the left hand YES HOLD IT UNTILL THE PIT IS UPLOADED. then u can let go then slide in the vattery with the right.while checking off the flash bootloarders on the heimdall with it fixing my phone XD
I had this happen, I dissassembled the phone, and used an alcohol pad to clean the power button area, and manipulated the button a lot, let it dry, reassembled...it still bootlooped.
BELOW IS RISKY BUT WORKED FOR ME
So while the back cover was off (exposing the cicuit board but everything still connected) I inserted the battery and watched it boot loop...during this, I used a flathead screw driver to "short" the power button pins...this let it boot fully, and it has been fine since.
i smacked the phones power button a few times and it worked
I do apologize for filling up this forum with yet another "Did I brick..." question, but I'm really at my wits end and need some guidance.
This morning I decided to update my kernel to ElementalX 5.0. Prior to this I was using the 4.5b kernel and had no issues, but I wanted to move to the stable release and hadn't had any issues in the past. I have ViperXL 3.2.3 installed on this as well. I have yet to apply S-Off as I haven't had any real issues at the time and wanted to wait for the weekend when I had enough time to dedicate to the process (life is hectic blah blah blah).
I downloaded and installed the 5.0 kernel as I had previously, making a nandroid prior to the install. I decided to try some of the overclocks/undervolts that everyone raves about so during the install I chose the 2.1GHz overclock (because I can always step it down if it gets flaky, right?) as well as overclocking the GPU and undervolting to 850. I also went with zRAM as usual. After this was done and the phone rebooted twice (a common occurrence) I was brought to the window where Android was optimizing my apps. After that completed, I was brought to my home screen where I saw the clock and everything else. It looked like yet another successful install....and then the phone went black. Since then I have been unable to get it to boot. Pressing and holding the Power + Volume Down does nothing. I've held it for over a minute and no blinking capacitive lights or anything. The charge light does not come on when it's plugged in and, while my computer first tried to install the drivers when I plugged it in, I received an error saying the device was unplugged and no matter what I do I cannot get it to try to install again. Device Manager doesn't show it as being plugged in and it no longer comes up in Windows Explorer. Prior to the install the batter was at 83% and I have had it plugged in now for almost 20 minutes and still the charge light has not illuminated.
I never thought it would be possible to kill this phone, but I think I successfully did. Does anyone have any insight, suggestions, or helpful pointers. Yes, I know this was a risk I took doing this and I am not going to bemoan the fact that I did this to myself...I just really want to know if it's possible to resurrect this phone.

Yes into the wall charger...and hold power for thirty seconds does anything light up?
As for my own experience I have had trouble getting my phone to reboot or get into the bootloader when it plugged in. The charger seems to keep the phone turned on while it charging. Try unplugging it from the charger and try again.

This happened to me too, but I got it to reboot by holding down the power button. What's happened is that the phone thinks the battery is dead. When it comes back up, you'll probably show 1% charge. Somehow or another, the battery monitor data gets corrupted. I think it's related to the general battery data bug that's plagued this phone from the beginning.
Your phone clearly can't handle 2.1 and undervolting (I increased my voltage to run 2.1). Bump up the voltage when you get it back up.

Definitely. The wall charger is much faster than USB from a computer.
IT LIVES!!!!
I ran home and grabbed my wall charger and brought it back to work. I plugged the phone into the charger and let it sit. After about 2 minutes, the charging LED lit up. I gave it about 15 minutes and then tried to power it on but it was no go, turning off the charging light and not doing anything, so I let it charge for another 30. When I thought it should be good and ready, I decided to go ahead and attempt to boot into the bootloader, as my fear was that the undervolt and massive overclock would most likely bring me back to square one. Holding down Power and Volume Down, I said a silent prayer to the device gods.....and the capacitive buttons began flashing.
Once I got into the bootloader, I quickly booted into TWRP, cleared cache and Dalvik, and then reinstalled ElementalX 5, this time choosing the stock voltage and not overclocking the GPU. I kept the overclock at 2.1 because, like I said before, if the phone is flaky, I can dial back the speed and restore functionality. I like the idea of having the option to go balls-to-the-walls if I WANT to, but not necessarily will I go that route.
After the lengthy kernel install and the normal 2 boots, I was met with my beautiful Viper lock screen. Thank you guys so much for the insight into needing to charge from the wall instead of the PC. I never imagined the computer would refuse provide a charge to it if it was completely dead (or the phone thought it was completely dead...once I got into TWRP it stated battery life was 86%). I am calibrating the battery now as I just realized it hasn't been done in probably 6 ROM installs.....derp!
Since this issue is resolved now, the thread can be closed. Thanks again, all!

USB charging might still work, it would just take a lot longer. Some folks have had to plug there wall charger for hours or overnight, even on the wall charger, to get their phone booted again. So the wall charger is just better since its faster.

And it may have, but the thing I noticed in the 90 or so minutes it was connected to my work PC was that the phone was the coldest it had ever been since I got it, meaning that the usual warmth caused by charging was not present at all. I did notice in Device Manager that when I plugged in the phone, it would register the phone as an HID (Human Input Device) and then it would disappear, only to reappear again and then disappear once more. This would happen non-stop until I disconnected it, so perhaps that's why it didn't charge at all during the time it was plugged into the computer? In any event, good ol' wall current supplied the juice necessary to bring this sucker back to life, so I'll file this info in my memory banks and make sure I have a wall charger at my desk from now on.
Hello all,
For some strange reason my phone died on me friday, the last time i saw it on was while updating.
It wasn't charging at the time so i thought maybe the battery ran out, but when i connected it with the charger my phone wouldn't boot correctly.
My Z3 was in a bootloop, it could still be detected by my pc but i couldn't do anything due the fact it was turning off and on all the time.
I tried to enter recovery mode but it instantly restarted itself...
Pc Companion wasn't detecting my phone so i couldn't use that.
since my phone did get repaired already (my screen broke) i could manually disconnect the battery but that didn't work either, i tried a new battery too but to no succes.
I also tried all the button combinations, the only mode i could enter was fastboot mode (blue led) and it would stay on but still no sign of a normal booting process.
The yellow button near the sdcard slot didn't work either.
When i put my phone to charge at the wallsocket the led stays red and it won't reboot all the time, but after 15 minutes the red led disappears and it seems like the phone isn't charging at all.
Today it got worse, my pc can't detect my phone anymore and the bootloop stopped too, the led stays red when charging (usb and wallsocket) but after some time the led disappears.
I can't enter fastboot mode anymore.. plainly said; nothing works anymore.
Anyone knows how to fix this problem?
Sony doesn't want to repair it for me since i fixed my screen externally so i hope for solution
I had a similar behavior on a Xperia T when my battery was deeply discarged.
There was No way to load the battery inside the phone.
The phone has to start the bootloader or something like a "mini kernel" (dunno how it is called exactly) to start the loading sequence.
If you are under the -normally not reachable- minimum volatge (under normal conditions phone turns off before) there is too less juice to turn on the booloader and start the loading.
In my case I opened the phone put out the battery and charged it directly with a power supply by wire.
For me it worked.
I see you write that you tried other battery was this one full for sure.?
regards

I assume that you know that... but nevertheless
I advise you to be very careful with li-ion batterys the
are very sensitive with charging voltage.
There are some tutorials on youtube but do it on your
own risk I´m not responsible for anything...just saying.
Edit: for safety...I think it would be good to try to load the
li-ion battery only that much that it has enough power
to boot in the loading state...then put the battery back in the
phone and load it the normal way.
I wish you a succsessful charging let me know if it worked.
good luck :fingers-crossed:

Thanks for tip and i'll let you know :fingers-crossed:
ok so im working on a nexus 5. i was already all too aware of the potential power button issue so that was the 1st thing i checked out, ive cleaned it twice now and made dbl damn sure i can feel it both click in and click out when being pressed.
on top of that i can boot into twrp both temp boot and flashing recovery for it. it does not cut off when in twrp (as i imagine it would if it were the power button being stuck)
previously i could not boot into twrp or flash anything at all so i ordered and installed a breand new battery.. now i can flash twrp via fastboot (progress right?)
however when it is powered off, on teh charger it shows the battery full with lightening bolt, then that fades and is replaced with a hollow battery being filled, then goes black and starts over... leading me to believe its not taking any charge in..
ive tried stock 7.1.1, stock 7.0.1, stock 6.0.1, cyanogenmod 14 and even ran the NRT by Wugs... i have wiped everything, i formatted data and made sure the partition was correct pre-flashing by running NRT to return stock values n such, i have also tried different approachs to flashing. fastboot flash system, adb sideload, twrp install zip and NRT...
with my small (yet excessive) experience so far with android im led to believe this is being caused by some sort of conflict inside the system memory, it almost has a rythym to when it cuts off, like when it hits block such n such it goes "OUCH DAMMIT" and retreats for safety (powering off)
you'll have to forgive me for starting a new thread, the only info i can find pertains to the power button which i am fairly confident it is NOT, and after hours of searching tonight alone im really not for diffing thru every thread, i did however do a quick search prior to posting....
Where did you get the battery? Tried different USB cables and chargers? The phone boots and runs properly on stock?
I had a similar problem. I talked to LG customer support and they were aware of this issue and suggested that the whole logic board needs to be replaced. Apparently this is common with LG devices.
A workaround that worked for me is to turn off the phone for 1 day (let it cool down), clean flash whatever rom you like, then flash ElementalX kernel with the CPU under-clocked to minimum.
I have tried various ports and cords, battery from a top seller on ebay (checked reviews prior) and I cannot boot into stock Android either... During my extensive tweaking of the device last night I relocked the bootloader while returning to complete stock... After doing such I later tried some thing I saw suggested on the forums, removal of the power button.. so I desoldered it.. didn't change anything so it's def not the button... However now I cannot click the screen to confirm unlocking the BL again so I'm close to boned as far as flashing options ATM... Lol fail...
If it is a motherboard problem, and it sounds like it is, the cheapest solution may be to buy a used Nexus 5 with smashed screen and working motherboard. Swapping the motherboards is quite simple.
That's probably gonna happen, I don't see many other viable options .... It's not my phone so imma be putting money into someone else's to save face. U don't get a broke device back from me
Thanks guys
