No, the reason might mainly be because the Moto X is a dual core phone and the Nexus 5 is a quad core. It will be a tough task to get it to work plus the ROM is so much similar to ours.
I'd like to get the OnePlus One ROM on our phone though. It has the "always listening" feature like the Moto X & the "knock on" feature like the G2.

No. The OnePlus One has a custom version of CM11 with special features like already mentioned that has not been released as open source yet. I believe it's CM11S.
Some of the features of the Moto X require hardware we don't have/can't access. For instance the active notifications take advantage of Amoled capabilities our screens don't have. And, though our hardware supposedly has "always listening" capability, even the dev that figured out how to turn it on won't release his method for fear of legal action.

What is so complicated about my question?
Moto X software is aosp with a few additions like always listening and active notifications. Both of those can be replicated but with poorer battery life. The software running the moto x will not benefit this device because those functions are boosted by the hardware backing them.

This ^^^
The moto x is near vanilla, as is the N5. I don't see any reason to want to port it. Its barely different. And the moto x exclusive features either won't work on the N5 period, and the ones that may would kill our battery.
Just my 3 cents.

AMOLED isn't the same as IPS LCD
Regarding the Sense 6 port and the (possibly) upcoming TouchWiz port by GalaxyUser, the devices they're ported from have similar hardware i.e. similar SoC/other hardware, the Moto X is quite a bit more different.

CM11S barely has that much new to it. If you wanted active display a lot of custom ROMs implement it, however as stated, the Nexus 5 does not have an AMOLED display and it'll use more power when it displays on the screen compared to the Moto X for example.

Its a win, win in my opinion...
why dont u just keep the hox, flash the latest aokp rom so you have something that resembles aosp
i had the nexus before i bought the hox, the hox wins hands down. i too missed the clean google experience, im not gonna lie, but this latest aokp rom is doing a great job of making me forget my nexus
and it will only get better once we get source.

Wich phone would you pick?

So I though of upgrading my nexus one. The possible candidats are a htc one s or a motorola razr maxx. If you had to choose wich one would you take? I don't like that big screens, so 4.3 inches seems to be a sweat spot for me. Could you recomend me other phones?
Thx
Sent from my Nexus One using xda app-developers app
Razr Maxx has the best battery life out of all smartphones in the market so if you are looking for a phone that has great battery life, the razr maxx is the phone to get. Other good phones are the GNexus and the SGS3 which have full support of Ics and JB.
The best hardware right now is the galaxy s iii. The best software support is on the galaxy nexus.
I wouldn't get something as locked down as the Motorola unless you're okay with only ever getting one android update, and getting it super late. And I think the gsiii does everything the HTC does and then some.
My choice is (and probably always will be) the nexus because I have more control over it than any other device, but the gsiii is a good choice now as well.

At that screen size I'd take the Galaxy s2 or Sony Xperia S or One S in that order
The maxx is good but lack of support kills it. Battery life is the only reason to get it.

galaxy s2 will be the best choice for the range of the screen size & samsung is still continuing to update the software on s2

Did all four of you guys seriously just ignore the fact that he wants a phone with a 4.3 inch screen? Those would be too big for him.
I would have to agree with SII, great development and Samsung supports Cyanogenmod, what more could you ask for? Still has great specs too.

I would realy like that extra battery life on the maxx and it just got the ics update. But are phones with bigger screens like 4.8" in dimensions a lot bigger than that with 4.3"?
Thx to you all

There's too many of these threads all over the place on here now.
None of us can give you a definite answer of what phone to get because ultimately, it's your choice and none of us can change that. And if a you're after is suggestions, why not just think of a few yourself and float round the specific sections for those phones so you can read peoples responses to the phone.
I'll end up making a dedicated thread for this kinda thing if I see too many more of these

It starts getting difficult at 5+ and becomes a matter of taste there. Otherwise 4.8 has proven manageable with phones like sensation and galaxy s3.
Consider that the maxx is not HD and is aged technology, even at launch there were complaints on moto holding out,if you also don't mind this carry on.
Consider you can always get an extended battery for something like the s3 or optimus 4x without a great increase in bulk as they're thin.

What should i get?

Hey guys. So i will hopefully be heading off to verizon soon so i wanted your opinion on a phone. Strike the iPhone 5 and the GSIII because i don't want either. Fire off!
Also, i know how hectic and long these threads can get so please wait a little while (like 2 weeks) and then close it if you want
wait for the new lg phone
Or the new nexus...
One does not simply wait for a new phone
I would wait for the new nexus but verizon seems to hate updating that thing, sure i would root it but...Anybody seen estimates on when that is coming out?
I heard rumours about the new HTC one x+ bout to come out soon. Might want to wait, Verizon will probably get it as well.

[Q] My first smartphone is getting old.

Hi boys, and girls
As my 2 year contract on my carrier, is getting to the finish line, i want to get something new. (I will keep my small litle muscle phone O1 as a second phone )
At the first i wanted the galaxy nexus, because of the great software support, and the developement, in our xda forum.
Then suddenly i saw the new Optimus 4x, but, there is one but. There is no developement in here, because of locked bootloader
I really don`t know what to take. Thought about the Xperia S, but nope.
The phones what i need to choose from , are - 1. Galaxy nexus
2. Optimus 4x
Maybe Acro S ?
Maybe some other suggestions?
Maybe the new LG Nexus? It'll be $399 on Google Store unsubsidized according to rumors.

Yeah, but it will not be available in my country for a while.
seeing how often google release OS.
I will stick to nexus device for fastest OS update
I love my Google experience device motorola xoom running AOSP jelly bean
Yeah. I think I'd go for the new nexus phone. Just wait for a lil while
I think getting a new LG phone is a waste, Anything other than a galaxy nexus is.
The new android OS? Availably from day 1.
Every app is tested on that first, which means closer to no bugs.
I think that i will take Galaxy Nexus. Just because of software support, developement. The performance is also o.k No need for 4 cores.

[Q] Liquid Smooth vs Carbon ROM

I flashed over carbon as I see the devs left team liquid. I honestly do not see any difference. But I do want the most stable. Especially partial reboots during normal tasks like enabling USB mode. All i know for sure is, i'm gonna do my best to get my hands on the next nexus phone. They're tough to get a hold of here though. Carriers and stores don't seem to carry them so I'll probably have to order it online.
Had the evo3d before this phone and while HTC tends to have a great build quality which I love. I am just so in love with stock android and the idea of getting updates as fast as they can be released is a sexy idea indeed.
Online is always the best option. But the play store (computer) should always carry them. Especially the nexus 4. 299 for an unlocked high end device? Can't beat that with a chicken bat
