If it was me I'd keep the One X and play with Jellybean on the Nexus 7

which nexus? if having the most current software as fast as possible is that important to you then its a no brainier. if not, I'd keep the one x.

i'd say stick with the one x and get the nexus 7. thats my opinion

One X + Nexus 7= Android heaven

Yeah o think I'm going to just buy the tablet so I can satisfy my urge to have the best soft ware always and pre likeley the tablet will get more updates than the phone

I pre ordered the Nexus 7 the day it hit the Google Play store... I will keep my One X until the next Nexus gens come out..
Its a win, win in my opinion...

why dont u just keep the hox, flash the latest aokp rom so you have something that resembles aosp
i had the nexus before i bought the hox, the hox wins hands down. i too missed the clean google experience, im not gonna lie, but this latest aokp rom is doing a great job of making me forget my nexus
and it will only get better once we get source.

No kidding. I really like my One X but Galaxy Nexus AND Nexus 7 for the price of the One X (550-600 vs 550 off contract)? That is a really a tremendous value.
I hope they can keep this type of pricing up long term (IE 349-399 for the next Nexus(es)).
Looks like the Nexus 7 has no SD card slot. Not a huge deal, but still...
Stream of consciousness thoughts during today's Google I/O keynote:
- Jellybean (Android 4.1) looks awesome
- The Nexus 7 is dangerously close to an impulse buy at $199
- The Nexus Q is way overpriced at $299.
- GOOGLE PLUS TABLET APP IS COMING FINALLY.
- Oh hey, Google+ has Events now. Just like Facebook. Maybe you should've launched with that feature a year ago? Just sayin'.
- Google+ Events can invite people who aren't on G+, which is good, because there's no one on G+ to invite.

What should i get?

Hey guys. So i will hopefully be heading off to verizon soon so i wanted your opinion on a phone. Strike the iPhone 5 and the GSIII because i don't want either. Fire off!
Also, i know how hectic and long these threads can get so please wait a little while (like 2 weeks) and then close it if you want
wait for the new lg phone
Or the new nexus...
One does not simply wait for a new phone
I would wait for the new nexus but verizon seems to hate updating that thing, sure i would root it but...Anybody seen estimates on when that is coming out?
I heard rumours about the new HTC one x+ bout to come out soon. Might want to wait, Verizon will probably get it as well.

I read this on a google news search might be BS but I'd love it. And most phones usually get at the most one or two updates small or big doesn't matter too the companies, seeing as how they would want there customers to upgrade their phones in the name of making more money.

i'm growing increasingly impatient with htc. Once you go Nexus nothing really compares after imo
I think that is the main reason why jellybean is so late. They are going to give us that one update and that's it.

Its a tough call for me. Nexus devices are supported pretty darn well. I mean, nexus s got jellybean and it can barely run it. (read run it smoothly for longer than two weeks)
But on the other hand, I tried a phone with no sense available, and I realized how much I liked sense (even though I'm only on it like half the time)
But my point is, sense is the slickest, most coherent ui overlay, and that has got to take time to do properly. Yeah, yeah, they drag their heels so we upgrade...but in all fairness, I do think they put a lot of work into it.
I think in the end I've decided that a stable version of sense is worth two of aosp. That's just my personal opinion.
After a decent aosp jellybean was released for desire z, I found myself still running gb sense 2.1. It was just a great OS that was hard to fault.

ATT is run by an arrogant ahole who only cares about the stock price(Randall Stevenson I'm calling you out). Why actually spend money on getting us JB when he can continue to line his pockets. "Eat the rich, its the only thing that they are good for"-Aerosmith
Couldn't be truer. Do nothing paper pushing thieves. He cost att billions in the failed tmo merger and got a 20+ million bonus and then they re-elected him. Ponderous to say the least. If anyone of us cost their company billions, we would be fired and probably brought up on charges.

[Q] Liquid Smooth vs Carbon ROM

I flashed over carbon as I see the devs left team liquid. I honestly do not see any difference. But I do want the most stable. Especially partial reboots during normal tasks like enabling USB mode. Anyone else have thoughts? I hope this is the right thread. If not, mods can you correct it? Thank you.

All i know for sure is, i'm gonna do my best to get my hands on the next nexus phone. They're tough to get a hold of here though. Carriers and stores don't seem to carry them so I'll probably have to order it online.
Had the evo3d before this phone and while HTC tends to have a great build quality which I love. I am just so in love with stock android and the idea of getting updates as fast as they can be released is a sexy idea indeed.
Online is always the best option. But the play store (computer) should always carry them. Especially the nexus 4. 299 for an unlocked high end device? Can't beat that with a chicken bat

I have never liked the screens on the galaxy phones. Look close in person and compare. Regardless of all other factors, the devs will make a speedy Rom with that hardware, and the build quality will be great on both.
The screen will be what you will look at more than anything else. Make sure you won't regret it. Pentile is irritating, even at hi res IMHO.
Black blacks and impressive contrast ratios are good, but seeing gaps between my pixels just ticks me off. That's just me.

Well then please make it HTC lol.
Apple is good at choosing hardware and writing software that is a bit behind the times, and consequently everything works and is smooth all the time.
That being said, I find iOS totally boring. My work bought me an iPad mini, which is cool, but I just can't get interested.

I would wait on the X phone and Nexus 5. IOS is good if you want your money's worth. My iPad 2 is still running silky smooth and my wife's iPhone 5 resells for $380! That's insane!
I have been a Samsung guy for the past couple of years and still am for the most part (waiting for the note 3) but to me the HTC one is much better than the galaxy s4. Two weeks ago I had my first HTC one, loved it but I had to get the S4 so i sold the One and got the s4. It's a good phone but it stutters A LOT, you cannot use the phone for a full minute without the phone stuttering and I'm not exaggerating. Also even though I always liked touchwiz, it's getting really old and needs an ui revamp badly. At the end of the day it's a matter of preference but to me the HTC one is a much more polish device. The s4 features are cool for the first 30 minutes but after a little while they just get in the way and become more annoying than anything. (Except multi window and air view ). The one display is beyond amazing (the one x display is the best 720p display and this puts it to shame), the speakers are incredible and I find myself liking blinkfeed a lot. Less features but way more useful. To each his own
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
As far as I'm concerned Samsung is in my ****list. How they can release such poor build quality at such high prices is beyond me. HTC time and time again is a perfect combination of power, features and build quality. And ew ew ew touchwiz. Also, would much rather have a phone and a tablet then a cross between the two. Having a smart phone you can't operate with one hand seems a bit useless to me but that's just my two cents. Also +1 on the nexus line of phones if for no other reason than having the latest software asap.
