[Q] BlinkFeed and G+ - Verizon HTC One (M8)

So, getting used to blink feed. One thing I would love to know is how I can limit what it pulls from a service?
For example, I have it pulling from G+, but it displays everything from my G+. Would be nice to have it only pull from a community or something.

How? Are you saying you can have it pull from only a single community?

[REQUEST] App to flash the bottom key led's for alerts

I am wanting an app to flash the bottom key leds for alerts and such.
I second that motion
Very Cool Idea
different sequences would be cool too!
Great idea....hope this happens.
that would be really battery consuming if you leave your fone siting somewhere
way cool, just hope it doesn't kill the battery even more.
Here is one TheJza over at SDX created for the samsung moment. Once again all credit goes to him.
Yeah that sounds awesome, lets hope someone can figure this out!
Only problem I see is that I think the bottom row backlights could all be one light so we may not be able to get patterns and such :\
Agree I would also love to see this app! Tried the apk posted earlier which worked for the Moment but it doesn't work on our phones. Hope one of the brilliant people on here can make one! =)
I like the sequence idea. Maybe a different sequence for each type of notification. Pans left for SMS, right for Email, etc. Or maybe each light blinks individually depending on the type. Think that would be BA.

Interesting, now to add it into notification
Anyone intrested in trying to implement?
The big thing people wanted on the HD2, was a KITT style...which still would be bada** but they couldn't ever get it to work like that...
Maybe someone can do it with this phone, but I doubt it...I really hope so though.
Great idea! I would love this, also would donate to the cause.
Anybody manage to get this working?
Would LOVE for this app

[Update V1.2 available] HiddenEye - Awesome app to catch your phone snoopers.

New Version 1.2 now available... Please upgrade...
* Improved photo capture method.
* Larger images
* Bug fixes
* Performance improvements
* Reduced file size (now only 570KB)
Ever wanted to know who has tried snooping into your phone while you were away. Your friends or family member might have tried to unlock your phone while you are away. HiddenEye is a simple app with no frills that will photograph the person when they try to unlock your phone. You can set it to sound alarm when a user tries to unlock your phone without your knowledge.
Now you can see who is trying to use your phone while you are away. Once you unlock your phone, you will be shown the photographs of the people who tried unlocking your phone in your absence. Sounds interesting ! Try it and let us know if you have any suggestion to improve it further.
Worried that your phone does not have front camera. With HiddenEye, now you can know the someone has tried to snoop into your phone. You can also set alarm if someone is trying to unlock your phone with wrong password. If you have a front camera, then you can see who tried unlocking your phone.
Download this FREE now from Google Play

Ha ha! I love your app! I don't really have a use for it for the time being because I don't really give an F who looks at my phone, but who knows? Maybe I'll be curious at some point or want to prove a point to the snoop-a-loops out there.

Glad that you liked my work.. Yes, this will come in handy when you want prove someone that they did tried snooping in Appreciate if you can leave your rating and comments on Google Play.. thanks
Neat app but im never away from my device....were connected at the hip
Nice!
One small beef though. If someone does get the password right eventually, then they see the app first thing -- even with it unchecked.
Kind of eliminates the point. Easy fix for you, I'm sure.

Thanks for pointing this out.. There is a new version 1.1 available with this fix and many more changes... Please give it a try... If you are satisfied, please drop in your comments and rating on google play.. thanks
Any device restrictions? Besides the obvious without front facing cameras...
Yep, that's better.
Thanks!
Also, I have an idea. Any way to have it so it takes a pic anytime someone unlocks it? Even with no password and just the swipe unlock? With an on/off switch.
Reason being -- I don't use a password or lock on my screen, but I do want to know when someone goes into it. So let's say I leave my phone on the charger while taking a nap --- I turn it on before I snooze, then check it out upon wake - turning it off after I'm done reviewing.

No device restrictions. For devices without front camera, you can still use the app and get to know someone has used your phone will your are away. You cannot see their real pictures. You can also set notification and alarm on consecutive failed password attempts..

Questions

As more of us get our Surface I have the following issues I am hoping someone can answer.
Need a good Exchange client===I read touchdown next week is releasing
Video Player that does MKV==
Once I have these 2 issues filled I will be able to hand off my Transformer prime to my son.
I will also have to wait a month to link my xbox live account
I haven't tried to setup my work email yet, but isn't exchange support included? or you're just looking for something better?
Now, my question. Anyone know where can I see the battery percentage?

Just go to desktop, where your windows laptop displays battery percentage.

Yea I figures that way out too but it's sorta a pain just to go to the desktop to see battery life. You would think it was somewhere else lol

I do not want my personal and work emails in the same client. Android allowed me to use gmail and then email.
I use touchdown until Windows Pro comes out with full outlook.
theres a battery icon on the lock screen and if you swipe from the right edge to the left .... but no percentage

[Q] Facebook wall post bug?

Has anyone else tried to make wall posts on the facebook app on the 8x and ended up making a status update?
If i go to the persons wall and tap the little pencil and paper icon, it makes it a status rather than a wal post!
Can anyone help me please? It's extremely frustrating

I don't think the windows phone app can make wall posts. If you can find how to, please tell me. I've been looking for it!
Thats ridiculous! So far this OS has been a let down for me...
Big difference between having issues with an OS and having issues with apps. I remember when I first jumped on the Android boat 2-3 years ago, it was the same deal, look what happened now.

Totally agree. WP8 is quite a treat from Android, as it is smooth and well designed. However, the lack of apps really hinders its progress.
Seems to work now

They must have fixed it because I was able to post to someone's wall. I was on their wall, and I clicked the paper and pencil as you did and it posted a comment on her wall.

No, the UK Mix 3 has the Global ROM on it, there isn't a "UK ROM" there's Global & Chinese.
Use Google next time, this is a unnecessary thread.

There's also the Xiaomi.eu ROM. I use the EU weekly ROM on my Mix 3 in the UK with no problem.
I'm pretty satisfied with EU rom but I only miss "Ok Google" function.
Thank you for your answers gentlemen.

That's just a modified version of the Chinese rom. There are only two official roms (excluding developer roms).

How's the battery life on Pixel Experience? I had it on my old Mi Max and battery really took a hit. That was fine with 4850 mAh, but with this much smaller battery, I don't know if I can afford to take the hit.
Also I've not seen any ads in .eu as of yet.

Ads? Why would you get ads because of a rom? I can't see any difference in battery life, they're both excellent.

MIUI has ads built-in to its notifications and other areas too, it's part of the way they subsidize selling their phones at a loss (they also rely on people using their stock apps for data too). They make a big effort to block these ad in Xiaomi.eu though from what I've read.
I used to get ads for movie trailers in my notifications even when using Pixel Experience, I think Google is just as guilty as anyone else for this.

Google doesn't put ads in notifications. If you're getting them, they're coming from somewhere else, probably a third party messaging app or from the notification itself.

Here's a Reddit thread about one of the specific times I recall.
EDIT: Okay I just checked and it seems like it might have been during one of the times it was testing putting ads in its Google Feed. Fingers crossed they won't end up doing that long term :S

Yes, there's nothing there that proves that's anything to do with Google. Likely another app with too many permissions granted which allows it to intercept notifications and include the ad.

Except it opened a Google Feed card? I swatted it away like 5 times that day before finally opening it.
Here's two articles from 2018 about Google putting ads in it's Feed.

Well I don't know what to tell you. That was my experience. Google does push notifications of news, weather, traffic and other interests from the Google Feed, I'm not sure why we're debating if this was possible when the feed was also testing ads in the form of movie trailers. I saw it multiple times, I even held the notification down at one point to consider muting all notifications from the specific app was clearly Google.
Anyway, I haven't seen any ads like this in Xiaomi.eu.
