Ladies and Gentlemen,
„Pocket OOZ“has just released their newest creation called „SketchIt“.
Sketch IT is a notes organizer for the "Today"-screen of your Microsoft Windows CE device. Taking notes has to be as accessible as possible but taking electrical notes is very slow as it's not just taking a pen and a paper, you have to go through a number of menus and dialogs before you can start taking notes.
This has finally changed with Sketch IT, now you can just take your pen and your pda out of your pocket and start writing! Whether it's writing down numbers, drawing pictures, playing games- everything is possible, on your "Today"-screen.
URL: www.cell-profiler.de/sketchit
Features
The e-Ink engine which provides the application with a blazing fast drawing engine, even on the "Today"-screen of your device. The application itself is only 32kb, it has been designed to keep the system running stable with no lags or workflow brakes.
But the applications features are not limited by the size;
• "powered by eInk" - allows fast writing directly to the today screen or on one of the many virtual sheets.
• Customize it! Design your own background and use them as your virtual sheet.
• Perfect work flow! Accessible when you need it, no need to push any buttons or perform any other tasks. Turn your device on and you are ready to take notes.
• Big when you need it big. Small when you need it small. Change the size of the "Today"-plugin instantly. No need to go through time consuming dialogs.
• 9 different pen colors and 7 different pen sizes make your notes readable anytime.
• Saving? Yes, but quick - save your notes with one click, no need to go through any dialogs. Just click the save button to save your current sheet.
• Unlimited Undo'ing, even if you have saved your work, you can undo anytime.
• The "Lock Sheet" feature prevents accidental drawing to your note, you can enable this and most other features without going through any dialog .
• Change the size of the plugin, sheets up to 640 pixels height on your "Today"-screen are supported.
You are welcome to write a small review for SketchIt if you are a news-author for a pocketpc site, you will receive the registered version of SketchIt for this purpose – and ofcourse you can keep it once you have published the review. If you are interested, just send an email to support(at)cell-profiler.de.
But there are even more news, Cell Profiler, our other product has been rewritten, improved and is currently being tested as V2 by our Q&A team. It is packed with new features, a today plugin that shows your current area, your operator, your phone number, the cell and the LAC on the today screen, the quickprofiles which allow you to do instant profile switches, a cellmap to visualize the actual network, a new userinterface and much much more.
Expect Cell Profiler v2 to hit the streets this or early next month.
If you are interested in previewing Cell Profiler v2, feel free to send an email to support(at)cell-profiler.de and we would be happy to send you the latest beta of CP v2 for re- and previewing purposes.

Looking for testers??
sorry... but both apps have already been tested, but you are welcome to test the demo version
Would you be willing to speak with another developer to help him with the operability of his app with yours? I purchased SketchIt 1.0 and I like it very much. However, there have been users attempting to use it with a program plug-in for WisBar Advanced 2 (WA2). WA2 is a skinnable task manager for the Pocket PC.
The Plug-in is WisBar Advanced Desktop (WAD). The developer is Chris McKay. WAD provides the users the ability to design their Today Screen anyway they can imagine.
I have been having some trouble getting SketchIt to work with the plug-in and I was hoping you and Chris could talk to identify and work to have the two apps work together.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
crashdau
I like notestoday. Does this have better features?
V
I think it takes the writing quicker and cleaner.
Hi - first post on this site...
I've got a custom windows mobile application that is running well on many PDA's in the field - I had a Verizon HTC "Rafael - I believe" PDA dropped off on my desk and the user was complaining that all of the labels in the application were squished to half their intended size.
I did some digging and determined that there was more wrong with the presentation layer than just that - on this device.
Any picture box images are rendering at about 1/4 of their intended size and not all labels are rendering at half their programmed heights - only the dynamic labels (ie. labels displayed on the forms via code) were rendering at 1/2 of their intended heights...
As mentioned previously - this application is running great on devices like the Palm Treo, Samsung i### and many others...these devices are all running mobile 6.0 whereas this HTC that is screwed up, is on 6.1.
Does anyone have any ideas on this problem? Has anyone ever seen anything like this?
Thanks in advance!!!
- Rob.
Hi,
i created an App called 'MM Tracker' which is able to read QCT maps from Memory Map from SD Card and displays them.
The current GPS position is displayed and tracks can be recorded, saved and (re)loaded.
There is a free version called 'MM Tracker FREE' to test the App on your device.
The free version is just displaying your current position on the map.
All other features can only be used with the full version.
Features are:
Tracks are stored to SD card as GPX files
GPS track will be drawn on map
Track properties can be adapted (color, width and opacity)
Overlay Manager for Tracks, Routes and Waypoints
Waypoints can be created at GPS position or by manual entry of coordinates
Routes can be created
Displays compass on map
Map can rotate in direction of travel or by compass
Pinch zoom
Support for landscape and portrait display
MMI files can be used to search places
New maps at current position can be selected with context menu
Maps with larger/lower scale can be selected with on screen buttons
When leaving the current map a new map will be automatically loaded (when available)
'Lock to GPS' can be enabled to scroll the map while you are moving
'Screen Lock' can be enabled to prevent unwanted touch input
When device is switched off (standby) MM Tracker is still recording tracks
Displays the map scale
Volume buttons can be used to zoom in and out
MM Tracker does not support the new Memory-Map format QC3 / DRM encrypted QCT!
Important:
Due to limitations of the Android NDK currently only maps smaller than 2GB are supported! If the map is bigger than 2GB, the map tiles beyond 2GB will displayed as white tiles.
'MM Tracker' runs on Android 2.1+. For Android 1.6 there is a special version of 'MM Tracker' called 'MM Tracker 16'
The development of 'MM Tracker' is ongoing and new features will be added frequently. Feel free to suggest....
You can find all info about 'MM Tracker' here: http://sites.google.com/site/mmtrackerinfo/
Have fun...
MM Tracker is now available for Android 2.1.
As i only could test it with the SDK emulator, it would be great if you could post some feedback.
Michael
Michael,
thank you very much for releasing MM Tracker. I have downloaded the free version, and it's absolutely brilliant. I would say it works so much better than MemoryMap, since MemoryMap on WM had a problem with maps bigger than 200MB. The 2GB limit that still holds for Android makes things so much easier, in that I don't have to split maps any longer.
A few updates that I would suggest are:
speed vector
ability to read elevation data (*.qed files) and to display the elevation profile of a route or a track.
ability to read mmi data and search for a place by name.
With the above features, MM Tracker would be an ideal replacement for MemoryMap Mobile.
Keep up the good work, Michael...
ccristal
Hi ccristal,
thanks for your feedback.
The speed vector is a feature which i am currently working on. But i am not yet satisfied with the results. So it will be available with one of the next updates.
Rgearding QED and Search-Function... the problem is that i do not know how to read QED and MMI files. So for now this is not possible.
It would be great if anybody could supply a specification of the QED and MMI files
Best regards,
Michael

Well... you were not supposed to know the format of the .qct file either. If you reverse engineered that one, I'm sure you can figure out qed and mmi as well...
EDIT: oops... I just realized that the QCT format is public... but we can still work on the other two. I've just opened a .mmi file with a hex editor, it doesn't seem impossible to decode. Let me investigate some more and I'll let you know...
ccristal
Yep you are right ... QCT is sort of public As you can find various descriptions in the internet it was just about to put them in code.
As far as i know the QED format is similar to the QCT format. Only the tile size differs and maybe some other details. I will check this.
And i had a look into some MMI files. Seems to be very straight forward:
1.Section defines Categories
2.Section: Placenames and coordinates
But details have to be figured out.
If you get some more informations, it would be great if you could let me know.
Best regards,
Michael

GREAT app mapman...
Downgraded to 2.1 as dislike android 2.2..
Works well but occasionally lags a bit when moving fast cross country.
Would like to suggest OSGB grid refs and map rotation to compass direction and a compass too..
With these features it will run circles round Memory map.
Have to say there are a lot of us where am stationed who are very pleased with this app...
Looking forward to future releases and YES will be buying full version in next week or two...
regards
Lohtse
Thanks
Hi MapMan
Thanks for this great app, having been 'forced' to switch recently from an HD2 (WM6.5) to a Desire, I became resigned to the fact that Memory Map appear not to want to support Android this side of the next millennium, so the ability to use my OS maps on my HTC Desire is very welcome indeed. Thanks. !! I switched from the free app to the full version after about 2 mins of evaluation.
The App works well for my basic needs, although as commented above, the ability to see height profiles would be welcome, although in terms of my priority wish list I would welcome the opportunity to :-
1 Accurately create routes on the device - with route properties in Miles and Knots (as well as Km). I would like to be able to create routes and edit route points - perhaps by nudging them with the central optical button. This was a great problem with WM6.5 on my old HD2 where all you could do was move the very small point with a very large finger !, and perhaps in slower time look at the route elevation profile.
2 Whilst its good to see tracks displayed, I can't seem to be able to save them - perhaps I'm doing something wrong.
3 A route arrow - although not a high priority for me.
Overall a great app and given my large investment in paid OS maps, this really is worth every penny. To be honest I would have paid 10 times as much for it. I just hope you don't get hassle from MM. Thanks
Hi lohtse,
congrats, finally you got rid of Android 2.2
I spent some hours to get it on my Desire ..... tastes are different

As a lot of people were asking for it i have planned to implement some support for OS Grid. But honestly... i think map rotation is not on the "roadmap" of MM Tracker
Today i added the speed vector as a first step. I think compass could be a nice feature too.
Happy tracking,
Michael
Hi paul144,
great to hear that you like MM Tracker.

Creating routes is definitely a feature i would like to have too. But as it is a little bit of an effort to implement, it will not be realized too early.
Tracks are saved automatically when you close MM Tracker. But you have to define a correct path for the Tracks (the latest update of MM Tracker has a more convenient dialog to choose the directories).
Regards,
Michael
P.S.: Thanks for your suggestion... i was thinking of raising the price too
hi
mapman are you uk based? if so drop me a pm...
So how easy would it be to create an Anquet Maps equivalent?
Knew I should have gone for Memory Maps!!
Hi Map Man,
Your software seems to be very interesting.
I have a winmo 6.5 and I am looking for a new phone. I know there is no solution for the new WP7 and don't like iphone. So I think about Android.
I just want to know if it's possible to import/export waypoints/tacks between Memory Map PC software and your MM tracker.
Thank you.

I think we have the same opinion there
MM Tracker creates and reads tracks as standarized GPX files.
These files can be imported/exported with MM software.
Waypoints are currently not supported, but will be in future.
Best regards,
Michael
Great, Map Man.
Hope you could add waypoints import/export in the near future.
It's the last thing that prevents me to quit my winMo 6.5 for Android
Thanks for your work !

just to make my explanation from before complete:
If you export your route from MemoryMap as GPX-track and load it with MM Tracker, you can at least see the 'route' on the sceen.
Of course navigation to WP/routes is not yet possible, but maybe this helps you...

Michael
Hi,
just want to inform you about the latest update V1.1.5
History
Feature Added: Switch between metres, statute and nautical units
Feature Added: Tracking can be started and stopped
Improvement: Status icons in statusline
Fix: ConcurrentAcces to tracklist while loading fixed (was leading to crashes at startup)
I would recommend this update, especially because of the last item in the list
Regards,
Michael
Thanks Michael, this is such a great app! Really look forward to each update, nautical units much appreciated
How easy would it be to implement quilting / auto loading of next map?
Thanks
Sean

great that you like MM Tracker
But what do you mean by "quilting" ?
Auto loading of maps is actually supported. When GPS-lock is on and you leave a map, the map with the best scale which fits to your position will be automatically loaded.
(Currently no support of subdirs, but this will be fixed)

Michael
Hello everyone, this app has now come out of beta and has been released on Google Play. It is still free and they will offer various in-app purchases going forward.
The link to the release version can be found here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwyLDEsImNvbS5tZXRhbW9qaS5ub3RlYW55dGltZSJd
There is also a new version of the handwriting recognition app called 'Mazec2' which has also been released. If you have purchased the first version, they have advised not to purchase as existing users will get a free upgrade soon. This app will allow you to write in your own handwriting using Note Anytime and convert to text later e.g. after returning to your desk from a meeting etc.
The link to mazec2 can be found here for those who may wish to purchase it:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...51bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5tZXRhbW9qaS5tYXplY2VuIl0.
mazec2 also allows you to use handwriting input in any app that uses a keyboard however will convert the handwriting to text as you go i.e. will not let you convert to text later unless used in conjunction with Note Anytime or another app known as 7Notes.
The app works brilliantly with the Note 10.1 but unfortunately does not offer stylus only (S-Pen) input at present. To use palm rejection, place the S-Pen close to the screen until you can see the dot and then rest your palm on the screen and write away.
Another issue with the android version is that you cannot convert notes to PDF directly from the app, the notes are saved as images in your gallery whereby you can use a third party app to convert them all into a single PDF document.
------------------------------------------------------
Hello everyone,
There's a new note taking app coming our way and hopefully will be the most full featured and smooth app for this purpose to date.
It has been released for iPad and the new Windows platform but us Android users have to wait as usual. Hopefully they are saving the best till last!
The app has been developed by the same team that brought us 7Notes, anyone who knows about the 7Notes app will testify that it is one of the best if not, the best handwriting to text apps available.
Notes Anytime hopefully will include this functionality with S-pen compatibility but unfortunately I could not find any confirmation of this. The iPad version does not have handwriting to text option however the Windows one does.
I have tried the app on my wife's iPad and can say that it really works well even with a fat capacitive touch stylus.
If you want to know more and see some videos on other platforms, use the link below:
http://www.product.metamoji.com/en/anytime/
The app will also allow you to load pdf files straight into it for annotation and has some really nice calligraphy style pens for making your handwriting look really nice. The user interface is very intuitive and all the tools for creating notes are easily at hand. The app also uses vector graphics so if you resize items, you will not lose any quality.
This may be the S-note killer that we have been waiting for although I could not see any shape or formula tools on the iPad version.
Please post any new info about availability if you can find out more.
checked out the link, looks pretty nice...looking forward to this. Thanks for the heads up OP

No problem, I have emailed the developers of the app for some specific functionality for the Note 10.1 i.e. if they will include pen support etc Will let you know if I hear any more news.
I have had some feedback from the company which will give you an idea of what to expect from the app, bear in mind that the answers provided are subject to change depending on what is released. The questions followed by responses are shown below:
1) When do you plan to release the app for the Android platform? Spring next year, it is said.
2) Will it have handwriting to text like 7Notes? Maybe or maybe not. This is under consideration.
3) Will the app facilitate digital pen input? No plan at this moment.
4) If the notes are saved in the Note Anytime format using an iPad, can it be read on other platforms such as android or Windows 8 with editing functionality? Yes! You can share the notes among different devices using our storage service "Digital Cabinet".
Look nice, but tired of being the last platform again

Hi all,
A beta version of the app has been launched on the Google play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.metamoji.noteanytime_beta
It has tons of useful functionality but handwriting/ drawing needs to be improved for the note 10.1, especially with curved letters such as s. Strangely, handwriting worked ok with the note 2.
It has OneNote like functionality with regards to text and works really well with the 7Notes handwriting entry panel (separate app from same developers with amazing handwriting recognition)
In its current state, other than the issue mentioned above, features work really well and this can easily become the top note taking tool on Android to date. It just needs to work seamlessly with the note 10.1 to achieve this.
This looks really nice but I agree on the handwriting portion. Everytime I try to write a "w" it puts a \ and asks if I want to add an item.
Using the Samsung OCR keyboard works perfectly and I like the scaling and repositioning functionality.
I'll keep it installed for now hoping that they update soon on the handwriting options.
looks awesome, will try it now.
Re: Note Anytime - coming soon on Google Play
Needs better RTF and text functions but promising.

Yep, same issue here, I have emailed the developers and they have acknowledged there is an issue but seems to be only affecting the note series. They have passed to the development team to look into.
Will keep you updated if I here anything.
when using spen the screen seems to be very little responsive compearing to ie. lecture notes.
i need to push spen pretty hard to write and no continous writing was possible then. even on sensitive settings.
in lecture notes it is like writing on paper. in this app, not really.
lots of work to be done if they want to make the app spen compatible.
.
A new version (beta II) has been released today.
Unfortunately it seems that there's still no support for Samsung S Pen, even if
in the new version announcement notice (here) it's said that
...
- Improved handwriting (in particular, for 10.1 size tablet with Samsung S-pen)
...
Anyway I couldn't set (or see) any pressure sensitivity in the handwriting with the stylus (nor any palm rejection setting too).
But maybe I have missed them.
Or (hopefully) they will come with the next official release.

I've updated it today and can say that it is very usable now, before the update it was almost impossible to write any curved letters. The writing is very smooth now.
I think the fix was mainly so that it could work with the Note 10.1 Spen, non Note users did not have issues using their fingers or fat stylus's. pressure sensitivity was definitely not a part of this update.
For palm rejection to work, move the S-Pen close to where you want to write until you can see the S-Pen dot hovering on the screen and start writing. If you now rest your palm, there should not be any issues.
Today's update makes the app functional using our notes although there is room for improvement going forward.
It will be my ideal app if this note-anytime UI combine with lecture-note function ...

Op has been updated with the latest news about this app.
I am loving the new update. Lines are smooth and writing feels pretty good. The only thing is I feel like there is still a little bit of lag when writing and then lag when clicking menus.
I cannot wait for the S-pen only option to be implemented. That plus some performance tweaks would make it my primary notetaking app. The features are pretty solid at the moment I think. Keep it up!
Can anyone share the app?
I would like to try that but in Google Play I get info, that the app isnt available for my phone
I have Galaxy Note 2 with fully functional NOTE 10.1 rom on it(miniTAB rom).
Tnx for help and take care
There definitely seems to be more lag.
I have a question about Polaris Office Spreadsheet editor.
I was watching few tutorials on youtube to find out about the possibilities of the package and spot that I am missing a toolbar with most common functions, comparing my app with seen in the tutorials.
Is there any option to activate the toolbar or is it just making our life more difficult?
It is a little pain in the a$$ to insert every single formula by writing it in manually or finding it in pretty long formulas list.
Another problem I've spot is that I cannot set any cell borders. Background colours works fine, but not the borders. Anyone have the same issue.
I have Note 10.1 JB, no root or any other mods.
