Plugged in Transformer last night to charge it up overnight when the battery hit 30%. I updated the firmware yesterday morning and everything was going swimmingly.
Woke it up this morning, and found it was at 9% battery remaining and had a low battery warning. I had a closer look and the battery icon shows no indication that it's charging when it's plugged in.
Right now I've plugged it into a bog-standard USB charger and turned it off, hoping it'll trickle charge (damn the lack of a charge LED!) and that it's a fault with the power adapter rather than the device itself.
Anyone else had this issue?
I had the same problem a few days ago, my charger was plugged in via a multi block and it would not charge.
I even went to the extreme of taking my device back to comet in the hope I could swap the charger out with their demo unit.
Man behind counter plugs my charger into some sort electrical surge protected socket and it starts charging straight away leaving me looking like a right tool standing their. (and they tried to sell me 3 years extended cover)
Brought it home and plugged it into the very socket where it wasn't working and what do you know? It starts working!
Not sure what the issue was but it now works again.

On trickle-charge it's now gone up by 2% since I posted.
Looks like the power adapter has its own faults...
Oh, and what do you know... plugged wall charger back in (it's been unplugged for 20mins) and now it's all happy and charging again.

yeah maybe that 20 minute trip to comet fixed mine too..
the USB mains adapter plug has a fatal flaw - the middle part of the usb connection isn't as sturdy as it sould be so it is easy to plug a USB port in the wrong way around and it looks and feels plugged in correctly as the middle part just moves out of the way.
If it isn't charing always check to make sure the USB connection is in the right way around in the plug.
I am bummed about this proprietary power connector; and apparently proprietary USB cable with extra pins (negating the use of USB extension cables). I wish the TF had a standard round power adapter similar to the Acer A500.
Thank God, i thought i was the only one. Had exactly this problem with mine when it arrived a couple of days ago, i am lucky enough to have lots of USB chargers around so i tried and tested various combinations and tried to charge other devices with the asus charger.
The problem lies as far as i can see, entirely with the charger unit. The charger comes in two parts, one is the usb dock and the other the relevant country plug. The way the plug fits onto the face of the charger is the important part. There is a central 'locating pin' made from plastic and two contacts that slot into the charger carrying the live and negative. The construction of this part is very, very poor. The tolerances are not a match for the quality of the plastic, the T shaped plastic locater does not actually locate the bottom pins properly and needs a great deal of force to lock in placce, and here is the best part, it doesnt like STAYING locked. As the plastic is weak, and we are looking at just a couple of mm here, it will snap, that will stop there being a clean contact and no charge. As a remedy, i have secured the face plate to the charger very tightly with a high tech rubber band
I agree, the use of specific power connectors in this day and age is just as dumb a decision as any manufacturer can make, and the rate it recharges at from a USB to PC connection can only be described as comical, a full recharge in 26 hours . Aside from all that its nigh on perfect, but i can see power related alternatives being VERY popular until Asus catches up with the rest of the electronics industry.
havent even had mine an hour and i havent done the update because its not at 50% and it will not charg at all. when i first tried to start it i thought it was doa because it would not turn on. guess ill take you guys advice and leave it unplugged for a while. i hate the charging cable is so small too that definately sucks.

I got my Triumph and it will not charge no matter where I have plugged it in or fiddled with the charger. It does not matter whether it is on or off. I have been using the wall charger that's included and I have tried USB through my computer. Before I go to the hassle of sending my triumph back I wanted to see if there is a solution. Thanks in advance.
The first one I got did this sometimes as well. I took it back and swapped it.
Jumpstart

You pretty much have to charge the battery by its self outside of the phone. Once you do this let it sit charging for about 20 minutes then try to charge it through the phone.
You should only have to do this once.
It seems like the batteries are not being shipped charged and they run "Dry".
You MIGHT want to try a different USB cable.
I'm using my Nook Color adapter(1A) and a generic USB cord which works fine, however one time I accidentally used my Optimus V cable and it would NOT charge while the MT was up and running, however it WOULD charge IF I powered down the MT...
I haven't even tried the cable that came with MT yet... nor have I tried charging via a USB port on my nb, but I imagine that would be REALLY sssslllloooowwwww....
I exchanged my device for a new one, and with my new phone, when plugged in, the lock screen no longer shows "Chargin" with the %. Any ideas how to bring it back?
It only shows that if you're on an AC charge. If you're on USB it won't.

Same cord? The AC pins have to be shorted or it won't go into AC charge mode. I have a couple of USB cords that work fine for connections to the computer but will not go into AC mode (the USB cords that come with the Optimus are known for doing this on other phones, incidentally....)
It'll charge without AC mode being "engaged" but at the 500ma rate instead of the 1A rate, so it will take a lot longer.
the answer is simple.....due to crappy crappy design of micro usb the charge port actually comes un-soldered from the board and obviously it no longer will charge nor will usb work!!! now before you ramble on with how do i know i wondered why mine wouldn't worked i opened the phone and notice the micro usb pins were not attached anymore....i have sent this in to Motorola which gives you a 2 year warranty instead of virgin mobiles crap $5 a month insurence then you still have to pay like $100 to get a new phone!!! so i will post how everything goes so far i know the repair center is in McAllen TX and they give you a free 2day shipping label valued at $100 to send in the phone!
You might want to try plugging it into a wall (not pc) and leave it for 20 minutes. Mine ran completely dry one time and it wouldn't display nothing until it charged for a while. If you've already tried this then definitely take it back.

*update* They are fixing my phone now and i should get it in 5-7 business days no problems they received the phone and started the repair
I had the same problem but different solution.
I too let my phone completely discharge to find that it would not indicate that it was charging or even power on with or without the battery being present, but I "jumped started" my phone. This is a weird technical solution that went as followed in its entirety, meaning, some of these steps might be pointless or useless but I did them and I now have a working resurrected MT in my hands that is charging. This solution is assuming that there is no problem with the micro USB soldering on the main board.
"Jump Starting"
1) Remove the back casing and your MT battery and place both to the side, but keep the battery close by for polarity reference.
2) Have another battery of the same 3.7v that is charged (disregarding mAh).
3) Now here is the fun part and pay CLOSE ATTENTION to POLARITY!!!
-Get two spare wires, preferably of different colors so you can tell the [+] from the [-].
-With the spare 3.7v battery you have, in what ever way you can, connect your spare wires to it, paying close attention to polarity.
-Now that you have your spare battery wired, CORRECTLY connect the wires to the inside connectors of your MT what ever way you can, paying close attention to polarity.
Being [+] connected to [+] and [-] connected to[-]
4) Boot your phone until you know you are at the home/lock screen. Then remove the wires from the MT battery connectors.
5) Use this same battery and connect it to your battery for about 30-60 seconds, paying close attention to polarity. This will give the battery some juice for the system to recognize.
6) Place the battery back in the phone without attempting to turn it on and return the back case to the closed position.
7) Now connect your MT to a powered micro USB cable and see if the red indicator charging light turns on.
-If so then great!
-If not then you may have some other problems
-If yes and no, as in the cable has to set a certain way for it to charge then just keep on reading for that fix as well.
"Loose Connection Fix"
This is how I fixed my loose micro USB cable and it worked for me, but I do not have soldering problems on my main board of my MT so proceed if you think this will help.
1) Your micro USB male side of the cable that plugs into your MT should look something like this (excuse the crude drawing of letters)

2) Get a pair of needle nose pliers and SLIGHTLY pinch/squeeze the center of the male port closed so it looks like this

Except not that extremely bent inward, but you get the idea.
This will force the male tongue in the MT charging port to be forced onto the pins inside the micro USB cable for a better connection and thus fixing the loose connection problem
I hope this helps someone, it helped me save my $300 paper weight from actually being a paper weight.

I let my battery die down and also did a battery memory reset, then the phone acted bricked.
Then I tried this to revive and it worked!
Thanks for the help here I did this but when I connected the batter to the phone nothing happened. I connected battery to battery let sit for about 90 sec put it in phone and plugged in and the red light is now on!

add my phone to the list. It started about 2 weeks ago when after completing charge, instead of maintaining trickle charge it just let battery drain. I woke up couple of times in the morning finding the phone's battery on it's last legs. Now it simply refuses to charge by anything but my car charger. Lucky for me (and I thought I would never say it in my life) I have a long commute to work and it allows me to recharge the phone while I enjoy typical traffic delights.
I am going to call Motorola and discuss my options with them. I hate doing this as my phone is long since rooted and running CM7, so I will probably have to revert to factory settings before sending it off and if they decide to exchange I would be running a chance of receiving one with bad GPS.

I have a Motorola Triumph and it just stopped working. The general idea is that the Micro-USB port was shoved up into the device?
How do you go about contacting Motorola about sending it back to be repaired?

Well the problem is that it won't even turn on. I think the battery has some kind of charge but when I hit the power button, it vibrates like it's booting up then stays off.
I don't know that much about phones, but from what I can gather off Google and the various threads on XDA (Great site, by the way!) the general consensus is that it's the micro-usb port.
Granted, I may be wrong, which is a very real possibility. Heh.
Well 2 things, have you replaced your recovery with the clockwork recovery image ? If so try any means nessary to get into recovery, My old Triumph would NOT charge with any motorola charger, I belive this is a defect with the triumph. You might try a powermat of some kind to get enough power to get to recovery & do what my guide says to fix this most pain in the ass problem, Or get another battery & follow the guide. It's worth a shot anyway. otherwise you've got two options replace it or open it up, if you're gonna open it up then get a super fine sautering tip or file one down to needle size, this is how I do precision sautering on circut boards.
No, I had downloaded Clockwork with the intention of installing a 2.3 rom on it, but never got around to it. As for the charger, my Triumph charges with any micro-USB, from my old LG and Samsung chargers to the Motorola charger that came with it. It acts weird though when I plug it into a computer, saying it is connected to a computer, then that it's not, then that it is, then that it's not, repeatedly. I usually just end up turning it off so it won't do that.
I find it weird, though, that now when I try to charge it, the charging light up where the speaker is will not come on, as if it isn't charging. (And I don't think it is charging.)
I've also tried putting it into the "recovery mode". (Like I say, not too knowledgeable about phones yet. Learning experience. ) When I boot it up (into "recovery mode" or "regular" (?) mode) it just vibrates like it should then does nothing.
Edit: It finally did boot into the "recovery mode", but the touch button things at the bottom (menu, home, back, and search) don't do anything, and I cannot get into the menu to do a factory reset.
I don't think it's the battery now? I am more confused then I was when I started, and appreciate any and all help!
I've had a Nexus 5 since mid November 2013. Each night it is charged on a Tylt charger, during the day at my office I have the newer Nexus charger. Within the past month, the Tylt has been intermittently not charging (the green light on the bottom won't light). I could sometimes have success if the phone was turned sideways. But the nexus charger would usually do the trick. Recently the Nexus charger won't get the phone in wireless charging mode either, whether the phone is on or off.
Anyone had wireless charging go bad? Anything to try other than call Google and swap it out? Sean

If you have access to another Qi Wireless Charger try it on that, otherwise it could just be a problem with the coil even though that's unlikely. Did you pull off the back cover at any time?

It's not 100% clear but I believe when he says the Nexus charger he means the Google Qi charging unit, so he would've tested it on there and the Tylt.
Question: Have you ever removed the backplate? Or maybe dropped the phone? If so one of the clips securing the backplate might have loosened.
Try pushing down on the back of the phone right around where the X or S is andif you hear a click it should've snapped back into place. This is most common for people who have removed their backplate.
The clip that's typically the problem can by located thus:
Form a cross (two perpendicular lines), with one line running along the bottom of the letters in NEXUS on the back cover, and the other line coming from the flash. The clip is located where those two perpendicular lines meet. Press down there to ensure it's properly seated.
The entire purpose of that clip is to ensure that the wireless charging contacts seat correctly. If that clip is unseated or broken, you'll (eventually, if not immediately) have wireless charging issues.
However, it doesn't take much to damage the wireless charging system in the N5. My first unit stopped wirelessly charging after I dropped it from a height of about 2 feet (from a seated position), and it landed flat on its back on a tile floor. Luckily, if you bought it from Google, it's still under warranty, and wireless charging not working is a valid warranty issue. (Hence, why I said "my first unit.")
Hi I bought 2 keyboard folio from eBay brand new but it is like it haves a faulty battery. When I try to pair it with the tablet through NFC I press yes on the "do you want to pair the Nexus keyboard" but after some seconds it fails. But when I put the keyboard to charge it works. After I pair the devices and use the keyboard when I unplug it it stops working straight away. So I was wondering if this happened to anyone else and if it is any key combinations to hard reset the keyboard or something like that?

I opened the keyboard and the battery seems to be dead because I tried to charge it with another charger and nothing was happening. On the keyboard I put another battery 400mah but still wasn't charging so I thing the board is faulty too. I will take a picture of the battery and upload it because I tried to find one but I couldn't.

I was considering buying a simple small portable battery charger 1500-2200-4000~ and using it, but it would discharge too quickly, attempting to charge the faulty one in the folio. Also considered taking the folio battery/charging component and splicing in portable battery charger..
Another option I thought of, is using a male to male micro usb cable from the Nexus 9 to the folio.
I am using a generic micro usb charger works fine. I also bought a male to male micro usb cable attached to the Nexus 9 and folio, also works great. The keyboard hardly registers drawing any power.
Sorry for the late reply. That's the original battery of the keyboard which i tried to find but couldn't. The hard part is that it needs to be 1.5mm to 2mm of thickness Max so the keyboard top part can close normally. The other pictures is the modification I made replacing the battery but with a thicker one. It wasn't charging so that's why I came to the conclusion that it must be the board too that it is faulty. I connect the - and + cables from the charger to the exposed cables to charge the battery and that's it.

NO. The battery too is faulty. Because I connect it straight to the charger and it doesn't charge.

Hey... Just bought a brand new one with the same issue straight out of the box.
Have you tried measuring the original battery with a multimeter?
The battery protection circuits will sometimes protect the battery from undervoltage by not letting them charge any more as it potentially damages them...
One way to attempt to recover the batteries is to remove the protection PCB and charge them with a LiPo charger at super low amps till they get up to like 3.3v then letting the original charger and battery protection finish charging it... (Kinda dangerous if battery really is damaged)
These things sat on shelves for years.... I can't imagine the batteries didn't drain.
Edit: did you take the keyboard apart??? Lol... Is it glued together??
I took mine apart... This is not a reversible process lol... Checked battery voltage and sure enough... 0 volts.... There's no Li-Ion charger that will ever try to charge that battery as there is a risk of fire.
Looks like HTC cheaped out on the battery protection circuit and it didn't cut off the battery below 3.3v and let it get to 0v... Gonna have to try to recover the battery using my lab power supply to trickle charge it... My lipo charger complains and won't charge it at all.
I'm having the same problem. Just bought one of these on Amazon for $30 and was excited to use it. How did they charge $130 for this when it came out?? This is useless. I'm going to have to return this junk. Any solutions before I do?
The solution is easy.
I have effected this repair on multiples of the nexus 9 folio keyboard.
Someone said earlier that the charging circuit is bad in addition to the cell being at 0v. This is simply not true. For the charging circuit and the cell to both be bad you will have likely hit the lottery in a bad way, or shorted and caused damage yourself.
Truth is that as mentioned before their protection circuit on their $130 keyboard was not up to the task. I make the assumption also that they overpriced these so heavily they sat until their hardware choices became apparent by making them DOA after the cell's voltage fell too low.
Someone stated that opening the keyboard is irreversible, this is also untrue, it only requires a bit of skill and patience.
Take it for what it is, because I would never recommend someone to revive a cell that had been sitting below 3.2v, it's just unsafe, but this is what worked for me as I didn't feel like digging through china stock to find a matching cell.
The cell is at 0v, so the fix is simple, connect another similar chemistry (3.2v-4.2v) cell in parallel (between the protection circuit and the cell.) I just used and 18650 from a laptop battery. Let's call this a "jump start." Start the charging and disconnect the second cell. Red charge LED should remain solid and charge cell 1 to 4.2v and you are good to go.
As far as the details, we know that the cell is on the left side, so only heat and slice adhesive from just beyond the corner to the center, slide your tool under the cell to remove the adhesion from the main body and carefully slip the cell out far enough to get at the contacts in order to get between the protection circuit and the cell.

Just want to make sure that the wires are in the correct place.
The folio battery has a USB jack at one end and a switch (on/off perhaps) and a blue light at the other. What's happening when the blue light blinks?

i meant if i take the keyboard apart.
I ordered another on off ebay, but i used the suggestion i thiunk i saw on here. I have a microusb OTG plugged into the nexus 9 and running a usb to the keyboard. it is supplying enough power to run he keyboard. also it does not seem top drain much power at all.
I'm typing this message on the folio keyboard. if the other keyboard folio has the same issue then i can at lease use this solution to use the folio.
now i need to order a shorter usb to microusb cord so i dont have to rubber band the cord and look sloppy when carrying it around

That is paring mode if in not mistaken.
Nah, it's definitely a charging light. Doesn't blink when pairing but does when a USB charging lead is plugged in. Goes off after a couple of minutes, which confirms what we all know: the keyboard doesn't/won't charge.
Picked up one of these new from Ebay. It doesn't seem to want to charge and will only work when plugged in with charger. Anyway to get it working? Guess it's a return
I recently bought a cracked version of this phone off eBay, everything worked on it when I got it (with the exception of the cracked screen.) So I got the replacement screen and a new battery and now it doesn't charge up. I get a little flashing white LED at the top of the screen, any ideas what it could be?
Best guess is that something didn't get connected properly when the device was re-assembled (tiny ribon cables are difficult).
Moto, with all it's variants per model, is incredibly frustrating. It may also be that the replacement screen or battery is specific to a different variant of the same model.
In either case, I would try putting the old battery back (double checking those ribbon cables, looking for damage, etc) and then seeing if the device charges.

It's not the connectors, my guess is something went wrong with the screen, I don't have the original charger so maybe that might be the issue?

I think that's unlikely, I charge off different cables, laptop, adapter blocks, and usb a wall plugs. This all works fine. I also think the screen is unlikely.
Can you access the device via usb (i.e. adb or read/write files)?
I know its a long shot, but I've found that pocket lint collects in the phone plug and given enough time make the cable connection difficult or imposible. I have to periodically clean it out (it's almost not visable at the very bottom of the plug housing) using a wooden tooth pick.
Oh, I commpletely neglected the obvious - maybe the replacement battery is bad.
I thought it might be the battery the first go around and had a replacement sent, still nothing.
Well... I'm out of ideas atm. You could try putting the old screen back on just to see if battery charges - but ug, that's a job with potentially a disappointing outcome. At least you would know and then could decide if your going to spend more effort on it.
