Flashing a GSM ROM - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Is flashing a GSM ROM feasible without causing my device to brick? I am unlocked, rooted, S-Off, and Supercid changed to 11111111.

If you use verizon as your network no, even if you use a cdma Sim Verizon uses different partitions than gsm and chances are something will screw up

[q] just notice that my phone is locked again!!

i just notice that my phone is locked again after using ICS with 3.32 base sometime....
im changing of carrier and i would like to know what is the easiest way to RE-unlock my phone (when i bought it i Used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16125079) but now i just want to unlock my phone...
can someone help me please?
When you say 'Locked' do you mean in the HBOOT? That's because it over-writes the original HBOOT when the ICS update goes through
Are you still S-OFF? If so, you can still flash CWM/4EXT via HBOOT using a PG58IMG.zip file
With locked I mean I can use only one sim cardx before I could use any some card is want, my phone got sim locked after installing ics and id like to know how to get sim unlocked again, yeah I'm s-off and rooted using insert coin 5.1.6 right now

This is what that page says: it is our responsibility to caution you that not all claims resulting or caused by or from the unlocking of the bootloader may be covered under warranty. Please note that unlocking your bootloader does not mean that you will be able to unlock the SIM lock. Unlocking your SIM lock is at the discretion of your operator/carrier and is not part of the bootloader unlocking scope.
I'm everything, s-off, super CID,rooted, etc.

What HBOOT are you currently on ??
If you are 1.23 this wont allow write commands
either downgrade to firmware 1.17 or update to 1.27

anyone has the PG58DIAG file that could share it to me??

Call t mobile for the unlock code. Phone locked to carrier has nothing to do with H Boot, HTC unlock, s off, etc. If you never SIM unlocked it to begin with you were lucky it worked on other Networks. There's a thread in development section to SIM unlock your phone.

my phone was sim unlocked when i followed the tutorial, when i bought it it was locked to Tmobile, but after and used the tutorial i could use it with any simcard, i inserted a Telcel simcard, but after i upgrade to ICS the phone is locked again to Telcel, i cannot use any other simcard "just telcel ones" and i cannot call to Tmobile because im from mexico and i bought the phone from ebay
This might be a shot in the dark but have you tried flashing your backup before flashing ICS and tried another Network SIM and see if it works? Was the Telcel SIM in it when you flashed? My thinking is if you go back to GB see if the unlock works again and if it does then you should then try flashing back to ICS without a SIM card in it and see if it is then not locked to a Network. Maybe the flashing with SIM in it caused it. Maybe you could contact the dev who came up with the unlock method and ask him to look into ICS compatibility.
I remember a similar thing happening with a Captivate unlock code not working after flashing FROYO before it's official release.
I found this method and the file link is working. I am going to find my old at&t SIM and see if this works.

How do you get the ROM from the HTC RUU?

I've read previous threads that instruct to search for rom.zip in the temp folder. I have found the rom.zip but it does not flash using CWM. How do I get the rom which I can flash through CWM?
You don't flash it through cwm, you rename it accordingly (PHxxIMG.zip) based on your phone model and flash it through HBOOT.

Okay. I do recall my phone searching for similarly named images when I booted the phone to recovery. How exactly am I supposed to flash them after renaming and placing them in the root of my SD Card?
Also, do normal regional restrictions still apply to this process? (Will it bail if I try flashing the phxximg.zip of a European RUU on a asian phone?)
Thanks a lot.
Don't know about the regional restrictions. To flash it you just put the renamed zip in the root of your SD card and reboot into bootloader. It'll scan for the file and ask you to press some key if you want to flash the update. That's it.

Regional restrictions apply unless you have changed your CID to allow for flashing of other regions ROMs. This is called "SuperCID". I'm not sure which HTC phone you have otherwise I'd link you to how to get it on your phone, but it's a simple google search "SuperCID *phone name*"
When you have SuperCID, it allows the flashing of any ROM by any carrier so if you intend on doing an Asian ROM on a Euro phone, check and make sure the hardware is the same, otherwise you'll bork something.
Example: if you flashed a CDMA EVO 3D ROM on a GSM EVO 3D, you'd likely lose your data, signal at least, given that the CDMA and GSM 3D's have different radios. You'd probably lose even more but the data and signal at least are for sure.

Exactly, just got an incorrect CID error. I'm trying to do this on HTC One V. The bootloader is unlocked. Can you please link me to the SuperCID for HTC one V? Is it software or hardware?
Also for this process, do I need to have stock recovery or having CWM won't cause any issue?
Moreover, is it okay if the bootloader is unlocked or do I "relock" it?

Can you please post me the link to the SuperCID for HTC One V. Googling didn't help much.
Another very important question, my stock ROM was an Indian one. I rooted and flashed a stock European ROM. Due to this process, do you think the original CID was modified?

You'll most likely need to re-lock before flashing the RUU. I haven't heard of a way to get super-cid on the One V yet, but if it's possible you should be able to find it in the HTC One V forums.

[Q] no 3G after superCID

Hello,
I just unlocked, S-OFFed and superCIDed a t-mobile branded sensation. the owner has a different carrier so he asked me to make the device compatible with at least his carrier, so I did a superCID.
now the device has normal service with various carriers, but no 3G internet connection.
There are probably numerous things I could do but I want to make as little changes as possible. The ROM and recovery are still stock. What do you guys advise me to make this phone connect to mobile internet again?
thanks

SuperCID just allows you to run software branded for different carriers on your phone. What you need to do is unlock the phone's carrier, and the thread on how to to that is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1232107
Also, if all else fails you can try changing the CID back to the default T-Mobile one to see if anything happens (the default T-Mobile CID is "T-MOB010" without quotes).

In need of major major help

I need some major help, good folks of XDA. I've purchased this HTC One S from a guy who got it from Fido; naturally it was locked to Fido. I was planning on giving it to my girlfriend who is with Telus. I used cellunlocker.net to unlock the phone to find out that it didnt work with Telus. It would pick up signal then lose signal, pick up signal and lose signal every 10 seconds or so. I thought if I put a custom ROM on it might get me signal so I unlocked bootloader, rooted and put Viper ROM on it but it turns out it still wouldn't pick up network on Telus. So I decided to try it on my network, Rogers, and it picks up network but only 2G!!! Now my One S has the stable CM10 on it with baseband 1.08ts.50.02.16_10.08e.50.04L, unlocked bootloader with s-on, hboot 1.06, radio - 0.16.31501s.02
Here are the solutions I have tried so far to this problem;
-Tried to install multiple RUU both with ROGER001 CID and Super CID:11111111 and I couldn't install any of the RUUs, kept getting Error 155 with Rogers RUU and Check CID errors with other RUUs.
-Used to have 1.13 hboot but downgraded to 1.06 so I could change basebands and everytime I flash a different baseband, nothing changes after reboot.
-There is a recent jellybean rogers ota update zip but I dont know how to install it
please someone help!!! Thank you in advance and even more if my problem ever gets solved
Wrong forum for this kind of question. Have you tried flashing the telus radio? Also modifying the build.prop with the telus settings might help. Odd that you're having that issue on Rogers since Fido is the same network. Sounds like someone may have sold you a dud...

Just asking, why is this the wrong (forum) as you say cuz this forum handles all devices does it not and I don't see anything wrong with his post?
SuperCID lets you flash any RUU, that error is most likely down to the bootloader being unlocked so if you really want to run a RUU then you want SuperCID and the lock the bootloader then run the RUU and also before you start the RUU be in fastboot mode first.

Try hex editing mmcblk0p23 .... There is a method here for flashing RUUs that is discussed in the development forum in the sticky for downgrading your bootloader.... Try the hex edit, and then lock and then flash.
You could also try flashing a different baseband radio. For Canada, I didnt get the best reception from 1.08. You can d/l new baseband radios either for your phones radio partition or for CM10 (which uses a different location). There is a thread with radios collected in them in the development section.
I would try flashing a different radio before the RUU... The RUUs will upgrade your bootloader and then you cant flash new radios and other partition on SENSE seperately (ie ROMS wont flash properly and you will need to fastboot the boot.img every time)...
Funny , I unlocked my Original Fido One S to use it on Wind and it works perefectly. It should work on Telus ...have you tried inputting telus apn and restarting the phone after?

Applying RUUs on Unlocked 1.14/2.22 AT&T One X

Before anyone tries to flame me, I've read all of the recent ICS and JB rom threads, as well as most of the generic question threads. I've unlocked, rooted, and flashed several roms before settling on CleanROM so I am not a complete noob. The master q&a thread doesn't cover RUUs much, and people aren't that interested in applying non rootable RUUs, so info on going back to stock on a newer or even older RUU doesn't seem to be widely available. My biggest concern is bricking my phone or losing major functionality, as some people using asian based roms seem to be having reboot and/or wifi issues.
1. Applying a different carriers S4 JB RUU is perfectly safe as long as I relock the boot loader, even with Super-CID.
I've seen conflicting reports of issues with RUUs when you have Super-CID, even with the original shipping RUU and a relocked boot loader. Can someone confirm that using RUUs is safe as long as the boot loader is relocked? What if it isn't relocked? Just an error or a bricked phone?
2. Once you unlock your phone on 1.14, you are stuck with that radio forever unless you apply an RUU or switch to Cyanogenmod.
3. Assuming RUUs are safe, applying a different carriers' RUU on my AT&T One X won't hurt anything. There may be apn issues, but otherwise everything should work (especially the camera and wifi).
Again, I understand that without root, I may not be able to add apns anyway. AT&T at least seems to have blocked the ability on their stock rom; not sure if other carriers do the same.
I really appreciate the help. I have searched, so this is more of a confirmation than anything else. Just trying to avoid bricking my phone and learn something new at the same time.

Im on hboot 1.14, firmware 2.20 att. Unlocked , rooted , flashed Rom. However , I had some problem then decided go back stock.
1. Downloaded ruu2.20 for att
2. Relock bootloader
3. Boot phone to bootloader mode then run ruu. Now my phone is stock
P/s :
- you don't need to root your phone to add apn . I can add T-Mobile apn just fine after I flashed ruu.
- ruu.exe can't run if you bootloader is unlocked.

Thanks - that answers my RUU questions as far as going back to stock using RUUs. I assume the same applies to other carrier's RUUs, i.e. Telus/Asia. What about using an OTA on a phone with Super-CID?

A factory reset or running the RUU will not change the CID.
SuperCID doesn't prevent you from getting the AT&T OTA (although root and unlocked bootloader will).

Okay, I think that answers my questions. No problems with using a RUU, AT&T or otherwise, as long as it is for the XL. Stuck on my current radio unless I use a RUU. And I need to relock my bootloader before applying a RUU, although I can unlock it after. I will lose root, however. Thanks!
