Help required please - HTC One S

Afternoon peeps,
So I've come over from the one X forums as today I've dropped my phone a whole foot and the screen has gone.
So I've jumped on my missus old one s. It's a UK Vodafone will this be a s3 our s4?
Ive factory reset and unlocked boot loader so just about to flash a recovery now and want to get the right one (I'm using the windroid toolkit)
Thanks

According to this site, the Vodafone One S has a 1.5ghz processor, which, according to this thread, means you have the S4 variant. :good:

Thanks windy city
Forgot to update the thread, after a dodgy bootloop I unlocked rooted and flashed and am now running cm11.
Used your toolkit too, thanks for that

[Q] USB Debugging keeps unchecking itself

Hi so I have an HTC One X
Rogers Version
HTCDev bootloader unlocked
Rooted
Debranded from rogers
Unlocked to Bell
I just unlocked the bootloader but now whenever I turn debugging on, and exit the menu it just turns itself off. And even when I stay there it doesn't work. Any ideas? Keeps unchecking itself :/
I'm curious to hear an answer to this one. If mine was doing that my first idea would maybe bring it to a priest or the Jedi counsel.....

I'm on AT&T stock and having the same issue. Quite annoying.

HTC One X will not turn on, no LED response

i tried to install new ROM. It couldn't make a new tmp/update_binary to I rebooted to Fastboot. i think i accidentally installed a TEGRA 3 ROM....
Now my phone won't turn on, no LEDs come on.
HOWEVER, when plugged into my computer, the computer recognizes that something's been plugged in (with that du-doo) noise, but then quickly makes the (da-da-da) noise to inform me that the USB device isn't working.
Pwr+Voldown doesn't work
In Windows Device Manager I get Code 28 (wrong drivers) for some device called QHSUSB_DLOAD, but that might be something else.
Where do I go from here. I've searched for hours on this issue...
Were you on 2.20 firmware? Did you try to install ice cold jelly?
If both those are yes, you are screwed and now have an expensive paperweight.
I have heard that HTC will replace the motherboard for 120

I'm not sure which firmware I was on. Thought i did have a Jelly Bean ROM installed, before this failed attempt.
And yes... I was trying to install ICJ...
What method did you use to unlock your bootloader? X-factor?

Thanks for response
It seems that installing ubuntu and going forward with (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1966850)
is my only option.
I used Hasoon's toil.

If you were on 1.85 grim has successfully unbricked icj phones with that method. Good luck

His toolkit only uses the xfactor exploit.. whether or not that exploit works on 1.85 and if he was on 1.85 isn't known to me.
I'm gonna place my money that he was on 2.20

If someone actually did this, I give up. Seriously. Let the whole world brick their phones.

The Linux method?
You can't really make it worse at this point. Give it a shot!

Update my unlocked at&t one x

I have a at&t one x I bought last night that is unlocked and I am using on telus. The phone isn't rooted and is running on android 4.0.3 and HTC sence 4.0 When I try to update it nothing happens. My brother has the same phone thro telus and has received updates for jb and HTC sence. I have went to settings about phone at&t updates but when I search it does not do nothing. Can anyone help me out with this? Will I have to root the phone, and if so does anyone got any tips to a easy safe root as I am new to this. Thanks

Why post twice? I already answered your question on your other post.

Well, what should I do?

So I traded my one X for a Lumia 920 and the guy came back texting me about how he somehow got into the recovery screen and it says there is no OS installed, he had pictures to prove it. And he also has a mac, so I don't know what to do. The boot loader is relocked so he's not even rooted, that eliminates flashing a ROM. I'm lost, RUU don't work on Macs either.... What should I do?
It doesn't sound like it's your fault that the guy screwed up the phone after you gave it to him. Not your problem?

Not big on macs but can't you run the ruu from like a virtual pc program on a mac?

enjoy your Lumia and wish the other guy all the best.
Was the phone relocked and functional when you gave it to him? And, was it s-on or s-off?

If I sold it and it turned on when it traded hands id tell him sorry. U don't know what he did to it and I'm sure he won't admit he tried anything

Well, if the phone was s-on and relocked, and functional when he traded it, clearly the other guy screwed it up. But if the OP just relocked and powered off when it still had custom recovery/rom, then it would not have been able to boot up in that state.

It was s-off and it was working perfectly. Relocked bootloader and he was like "I was downloading apps, then it rebooted to recovery and I texted you because I got scared." That doesn't sound right to me. I think he wiped the system and tried blaming me.
How can he text you from a phone that has no operating system? Just saying...lol.

I think you're right. I think he messed with it and ****ed it up. He's definitely lying.

And You can run ruu on mac using virtual box. There is a tut on it if you search this forum. It was posted in May of 2012 I think.
