The main reason for getting this phone was the big screen and the snapdragon. So, you'd think that watching a movie on it would be fairly simple !
I've tried several combinations of dvdrip, dvdconverter, coreplayer, pocketTV, and WMplayer to get the perfect playback, but i can't..... So i'm looking for recomendations on how to get the best playback out of this monster, from start to finish tell us what you've found to give the best results, thanks for your replies..
As we dedicate only to HTC devices you won´t get too much attention.
Better try one of those:

Good luck,
EDIT: Am I being rude?, Am I using bad words or rude language to simply let know people about my personal way of seeing things here at XDA?
PLEASE LET´S RESPECT DIFFERENT OPINIONS!

Got the message orb3000, but as there is such a wealth of information of all things wimno on this community, and as many on here have more than one device and may have moved from HTC to other similar type's , as i have, i don't see any problem looking for help here, thanks for the advice.
Of course not and wish you the best of luck in finding your issue
Just wanted to let you know

The base of a nice site like this is that everybody respect each others opinions, and you are not doing that.

I see.
But that is not the main issue here.
The problem is how other members (not you) react to my post, I´m really impressed on that
There is no respect on different opinions and points of view and that is bad
Have a nice day
qualcomm snapdragon can play 1.5kbps streaming from online smoothly
i need to know your quality of the video you trying to playback, what containers codec is used
chck this video about the CPU performance for snapdragon vs msm 7225 and older qualcomm chip
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ybs_MBhzrQ
htc always use qualcomm msm 72XX series on their device, only recently snapdragon 1ghz start to make news about the performance.
but for video display driver, there isnt any hardware support yet from core/tcpmp
btw, msm7225 chip DOES NOT HAVE QTV driver on it, so when coreplayer is used, no video driver can be used
marvell or intel having Xscale driver still display better on video playback
qualcomm vs intel video driver playback see here

Thanks netnerd, using version 1.3.6 now and seems way better than 1.2.5 i was using, video playback is good but finding it tricky to get the audio sync just right......... "Ask and ye shall receive"........even on here it seems...

Ask yourself how much will-power do i have??
Some of the more advanced issues, involving multiple phones.
This section to me is what exactley it saya in the description, Things will evolve.
i hv no major problems with video playback on my F1.
with divx avi videos i use coreplayer but the thing is theres no option of QTV for coreplayer so video quality not as good as it was on my old xperia x1. i guess this is due to the snapdragon?
so directdraw is second best.
for best playback i would suggest convert to wmv or mp4 with 2000+kbps bitrate and no bigger than 960x540 resolution and open with windows media player. awesome playback.
i hv some nice wmv videos of that resolution and looks great playing on the big screen of my F1.
or try this converter. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467112
Hey all!
I've spent some time on creating an infographic about hacking Android HTC's, which I made partly through the help of xda-developers, and I figured that I would try to return the favor to others xda-developers by posting it here.
Background:
I tried to root and "S-OFF" my HTC Desire and it resulted in the phone not booting anymore Having no experience in the Android hacking field at all, I was pretty much stuck, and then there's only one thing to do: Google up.
As I spent the next 4 hours getting a basic understanding of how Android phones work and what the different hacks and tools are, I needed a way to keep notes. Notepad wasn't going to cut it and I figured that a more 'attractive' method may serve as a good reference for other people who are interested in Android hacking. Adobe Illustrator it was.
I managed to get my phone working again but continued googling and asking smart people stupid questions to keep getting a better understanding of the subject. At this point I've learned everything that I wanted to learn. Not that I'm an expert but I know just enough about everything to fool others into thinking I am one I'm making the information public, if there are errors or omissions please inform me and I'll fix it.
Android HTC - Hacking Explained
In order of best to worst quality:
*I can't add outside links sadly *
Unless a friendly admin wants to add direct file links I'll describe how to find the 'infographic': Google for 'android hacking explained' and it should be among the first results. If not, add 'cruz'

I have a Inspire I just recently picked up from a friend, and was wanting some expertise in how to root, and what not. I noticed in the forums aahk is not longer supported. Is the easy ace root tool supported then.. I kind of new to htc phones, but I know a good bit about flashing and what not. If I could have a little guidance, much thanks will be given.
Thanks,
Tank

The key here is to search.
While you are new to HTC, you are also new to XDA. Please read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?a=81
There are countless posts in this section that offer great information for what you need to know. There are also countless YT vids that will help you through this process.
I understand and all, but everything read is not relevant to within the last month or so.. Everything is older, as I was just looking for some help on what would be the most relevant and smoothest today. I've done some reading, and it appears the ace hack kit is the most recent. But I have noticed others have problems with it at the same time and was just looking for guidance..
Thanks, though

Hi,
First time here. Heard about XDA over the years.
I have a Nokia N8. I haveSymDVR installed, so I use my phone as a dash cam.
Since the N8 has a FM transmitter, I'd also like to use it to play music via the FM transmitter whilst having SymDVR running (camera recording). Now at the moment it doesn't work because I believe when you record, the camera app get an exclusive lock on the 'media hardware'.
I was looking into modding the phone myself seeing that I didn't find any results of existing work of the above, however, the modding posts I've come across no longer has images in the posts.
Is there already a firmware/patch out there, is there a more appropriate crowd of people that I can ask on XDA?
Any help would be appreciated.
TL;DR: Want to be able to play music and record video at the same time on the Nokia N8 - running Symbian. Is there an existing project or modding group of people I can speak to about this?
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Unfortunately XDA is all about the Android and Windows Phone platforms, but not Symbian, so there isn't really anything we can offer you. I'm sure there are dedicated Symbian modding sites out there that shouldn't be too hard to find.
Good luck!
Thanks for the reply!
I thought XDA had a Symbian section a while back, but when I tried to search yesterday I couldn't find anything.

Hi, I'm completely new to the forum and a complete novice coder (even novice is an overstatement).
I'd like to develop an app that involves photo stitching, panoramic functions and some other cool features that can be discussed after securing an NDA.
I'm currently working on a wire frame and graphic design for buttons, icons, GUI, etc, but need someone who is good at programming these types of apps, initially for Android, later porting to iOS.
Any and all recommendations for specific individuals, dev teams or companies would be greatly appreciated. I'm an individual entrepreneur with a little capital, but far from "deep pockets", so unfortunately, cost is a big factor. Looking for best bang/buck. Thanks fellas!
Nobody care to help out a noob? It'd be much appreciated. Thanks!

Please be patient and you will get an answer as soon as possible.

Cool, thanks man. I guess I'm used to forums that are far more crowded and if you don't get an answer in a day, your post gets completely buried and likely will never get a reply. Thanks for the heads up and sorry the betting impatient.

Hey Raj, thanks, but I'm not looking to code an app myself, I'm looking for a dev that I can pay to create one. I tried to learn C++.....i didn't get much past "Hello world!" til I realized I just plain suck at coding! Lol
Sorry about that but i can't help you in this job.
You can try to ask in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2257421

Thanks, but I'm getting the feeling that this forum is more for devs to discuss coding itself, and not so much find jobs coding. I think I'll try my luck on Craigslist. Thanks for the help though.
