Is it safe to restore app data to apps that sync their data with the cloud using TiBu - General Questions and Answers

Is it safe to restore app data to apps that sync their data with their severs using TiBu? Will it cause any issues with syncing later on?

It is best to use a separate app for that. If you backup a system app with TB and change to a different rom it may not be compatible and could cause problems.
well thats true, but i guess what im really asking is does that app or whatever it is that TB sees and calls Phone/Messaging Storage contain my text messages?
i will probably install some other SMS app that backs up or backs up to gmail just in case
I never backup my apps. But i back up sms with sms backup+

yeah sms backup+ is good, i installed that, but i was right, Phone/Messaging Store is where your text messages are kept, backing that up with TB works as well

If you're talking about system apps, they shouldn't be backed up / restored. It can be done, but you shouldn't restore data, and it can still be problematic.

Whoops should have stated user apps. I never backup system apps. I only use the Titanium ones for things like bluetooth, wifi, messages.

[Q] save app cache ??

I need a way to backup app cache and restore it automatically after reboot
If you referring to App Data, you should use titanium backup for all the apps you would like to backup.

No I need cache not app data for US play store so I don't have to restart the process every time I reboot

[Q] Moving accounts when changing roms

I want to give the Mahdi rom a try, and I have my apps all backed up via titanium backup, but how do I get all my google and corporate email accounts to move over? Or do I just have to set each one up again.
Only restore user app data. All system data will need to be manually configured

Indeed. I would strongly advise against backing up and restoring of system app data, you'll just have to go through the setup again.

Oneplus 3 to oneplus 6 app data transfer

today i brought my new oneplus 6 im very happy with it but i'm trying to transfer all my data from my oneplus 3 to the 6, I have been able to use the switch app which transferred most but no app data.
I then tried with switch backing up and then locating the backup file and copying it to my new device but its still missing app data.
Can anyone advise me on a solution.
Thanks justin
I have used Titanium Backup to transfer all user apps with data from my op3 to the op6.
After the backup I transferred the backup-files to the op6 and restored all user apps. No cloud needed, fast and reliable.
I am also using Titanium Backup for apps and FolderSync to sync my entire /data to my home NAS. For a data migration I set up the new device, install FolderSync and download my data from my NAS, then install Titanium Backup and re-install apps. No cloud involved

That's the way I work also. (I only use rsync itself for synchronizing the data with my nas).
