Arm band that has easy in/out? - Galaxy S 5 Accessories

Anybody know of an armband for running or working out that has easy in out for this phone? I'm seeing some but their all for phones 4.9" or smaller and almost all in generally are not easy in/out, I just want something like if I'm working out I can pop the phone right out, press the timer to count down between sets and browse/reply to emails whatever, and slide right back in. Do they make anything like that, or are all arm bands the normal unlock this, sip that, unvelcro this, move the wire this way, ok now you can take out your phone or put it back in lol. Anyone know what I mean? Like is there one that just has a slit up top so you can slide in and out.

Opening the back cover

Okay this may sound stupid but I'm really having issues with my Touch Pro's back cover. I just find it so darn hard to open it. I'm doing what the manual says (push the backward cover upward) but I just can't seem to get the hang of it or the back cover on my unit is particularly tight. When I first got my Touch Pro I had to have my office mate open it for me and believe me, it took him a loooonnggg time to successfully open it. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a trick to opening it that I don't know about?
This is important to me since I want to buy a spare battery to augment the short battery life. Also I'm expecting my 8gb micro SD card to arrive any day now and I honestly have no idea how I am going to be able to install it if I can't even open the back cover.
Help!
I basically hold the TP with hands crossed as if I was shaking my own hands. I then push the back cover up. It needs a reasonable amount of force, but nothing excessive.
I had the same issue when I got my old M700, so don't feel stupid about not being able to get it open at first.
or you just throw it on the ground and it not only it opens, but the battery comes out too ))

1. Hold the TP in your left hand, screen against your palm, bottom of the TP towards you.
2. Rest the bottom of the palm of your right hand on the back of the phone at the bottom.
3. Put your fingers of your right hand at the top of the phone on the metal rim (not on the back).
4. Push the back of the phone slowly upward with the base of your right hand.
Job done. Very little force (or movement) needed). Hope that helps.

Modding Hardware Buttons?

well basically, the touch pro buttons are terrible. The ones at each corner are ok, but the left/right/up/down is terrible. I dont even bother using them, if i am playing some game or doing something full screen, i constantly hit the phone, or home buttons which minumize the program.
i was thinking... it may be possible to rather easily make some new face plate for the phone, maybe reuse teh central part which is the touch for the wheel.
but give it some actually normal buttons, i think touch pro has the worst buttons of any phone i have ever used.
does anyone have any pictures of what it looks like right under them?
Search for Touch Pro dismantling guide.
http://www.pdacenter.ru/razborka/htc-touch-pro/
check it out, half way down the pictures of the buttons
being able to see the layout of how they are actually pressed has now helped me alot at being able to hit them accuratly.
it also seems that iwth just a small adjustment they could be made much better.
however it kinda sucks how you have to take the entire phone appart to get to them... :/

Phone's "clicking"...

Is there a solution to something I'm sure most of us are starting to deal with...the ever growing separation of the 2 pieces of the fuze?
When in the closed position, the phone separates from itself around 1-2mm, when using the screen, you can feel the phone make a clicking sound (and you feel the 2 pieces hit each other).
Any screw that needs to be tightened or something else to get rid/alleviate the spacing?

N1 screen calibration

I'm convinced that the screen is slightly out of calibration - but I can see no way to reset the calibration. (I'm ex WinMo!) - it must be in there somewhere - or do i need "an app for that".
Advice appreciated
G.
I was also thinking this. Unfortunately I still have not bought the phone yet, or I would of tried creating an app to test this theory. If a touch can be captured in x/y data, we could see what the problem is with the bottom row keys.

The more I use the phone, I'm starting 2 think that the screen is not so much out of calibration, but is very sensitive 2 the angle that U touch the screen. when I use 2 hands 2 use the phone, It seems 2 always respond correctly
cause my finger is touching straight down, but if I use 1 hand and try 2 reach
across the it responds off a lil at times. 2 solve this I put the phone 2 the end of my
fingers and secure it as far from my thumb as possible. awkward at first 4 me be it responds correctly when I do. Hope this is clear and helps U. I do have big hands though.

I might know what you are talking about. At times I can't slide home screens when using the phone with one hand and it can get very annoying, but I blame myself rather than this wonderful phone.
I also remember my wife using the phone while it was flat on the desk and it would not respond properly, but as soon as it was picked up and did the same procedures it would work properly. We were thinking that It may have something to do with the angle of the phone and our fingers on the screen. Dont really know I just know how to get it working.
Have you guys rooted and enabled multi-touch?
If not, are you sure this isn't to do with the lack of multi-touch. On my N1 I have the same problem when using it with one hand. And I've noticed it's because part of my palm sometimes touches the screen as I'm holding the phone. As theres no multi-touch it won't register what I'm selecting with my thumb until my palm stops touching the screen.
At first I suspected it was an issue with the screen responsiveness/calibration aswell. Because as you try and tap with your thumb a few times, eventually you move your palm and it works.
However, then I took a closer look everytime it happened, and noticed part of my palm was always touching the screen.
Obviously this doesn't happen when you use two hands as usually you will then hold the phone with your fingertips, not by wrapping your hand around it.

Dude, thanks for using your first post on us.
I think you are correct about the palm touching the screen. I have rooted and installed the modaco custom ROM, but I have not installed anything else for multi-touch. I will definitely look into this, thanks.

No problem.
Coming from an iPhone it was not something I ever thought about, so was quite releaved when I figured out why it was happening.
Was on here looking for widgets when I spotted this so thought I'd register and save you scratching your head trying to figure it out like I did.
Lots of stuff to love about the phone, especially the battery life which I'm really impressed with and hadn't even expected to be a plus point over the 3GS. This was just supposed to be a stop gap until the iPhone 4G, but I'm actually thinking I may stick with it now

If you stick with it then welcome to android.
If you don't then you just need to have fun with this phone.
I've been finding ways around the major niggles I had over the last couple of weeks. So it's looking promising that I won't be splashing out for another iPhone in June/July.
It helps that my brother has one and I've had some time to play with it and get everything the way I want it. Which is part of the reason I got it now. If it had been during a really busy period (work wise), i'd probably be back on the 3GS.

[Q] Navigation Key Replacement?

I posted this as a question in an existing thread then realized that was a douche move, so here it goes:
As I was replacing a digitizer (which by the way is hell on this phone, so much adhesive ) I accidentally broke the tiny flex cable that connects to the navigation button. This was horrifically stupid considering the cable disconnects so easily, but I figured it was more efficient to leave it connected since I was working around it very well.
I contacted HTC, and they want me to send it in, which I find to be laughable since the part takes about a second to connect. The regular mytouch 4g button looks very similar in every way, except the flex cable is oriented in the other direction -- looking at the top of the button, the cable dips down and goes to the right versus the left on this phone. As it turns out, this is the most difficult part of the phone to find online! I failed to find it anywhere, and gave up after an hour on google.
So I am left with a dilemma:
1. Gamble and order the mytouch 4g button and try to twist it into submission, since the connectors are literally the same;
2. Find a broken mt4gs somewhere on the cheap. (hint hint, I check my PM's once in a while )
Hopefully a circuit like this would be a standard model, and HTC wouldn't need to change it.
Your thoughts? Any advice would be appreciated as this is a friend's phone, and while I have something (rooted) he can use, I feel like crap.
Thanks!
Well, here are my toughts:
Since the MyTouch button is fairly cheap, I would buy one and fight with it. It would great if it works, and there's really no reason they should have changed it.
I wonder why these navigation buttons are so hard to find?? I looked around too and couldn't find anything.
If you don't have an aversion to ebay, you can get parts phones there. Usually they have a trashed screen, or took a swim. The problem with the ones which someone decided needed a bath is that you really never know what parts are good. Don't these phones often have a problem with charging (that is, they plug in but now power). Those would be ideal for you because they work except for whatever is wrong with that charging.
Anyway, here's a search I started : http://www.ebay.com/sch/Cell-Phones..._dmpt=Cell_Phones&rt=nc&LH_ItemCondition=7000
I really hope you get this fixed. I can't help my friends with even the simplest of problems because I'm so afraid of making a tiny mistake. I'm glad you're a better friend than me. If the MyTouch button works be sure to write back!
If I remember right, there was a thread a while back about this. The regular MyTouch 4G buttons won't fit in it, unfortunately. The buttons are sized different.
Thanks for the replies!
I found it, FINALLY, after 2 hours of search engine hell. Had to not use Google for a change. The part is literally in one location on the internet I think, a site called mengtor.com... had to search for "trackpad replacement" instead of "navigation key".... and there is a $50 minimum. Sucks, but they also had a reasonable LCD/digitizer combo for the galaxy s 4g I needed, so it all worked out. I am swimming in broken phones and hand-me-downs
