I'm looking to get one as well, as my main unit. 1.7ghz? octocore. Hope its good. How is yours going? This is the exact same size as a Galaxy Mega 6.3 right? As in physical dimensions - i can use all the normal mega 6.3 cases and screen protectors etc?

All other is going on with P6S.

I bought from Banggood.com, and received with 4.3.1 multilanguage. This phone can be rooted with Root Genius.

Before root must be this installed on pc to be recognized.

First time poster!!
Bought this phone and received it the other day.
I can't get USB OTG working though. I downloaded OTG checker and it failed, saying it is not OTG enabled.
Anyone able to get it working??
Also, a little annoyance, has anyone noticed that there is:
1) No way to stop the virbrating when typing sms/ internet address/ search - basically any typing is haptic touch vibrations. I can't find how to turn this off
2) If an sms is received, the screen does not light up, no lights flash to say a message was received so unless I open the screen, I would never know an sms was received. Same goes for email.
Has anyone found a way around these issues?
Thanks

Hi digitalac,
No, I already unticked the box when I got the phone but it doesn;t change the problem.
I still have haptic vibrating when typing anywhere on the phone (Internet browser, email, sms etc)
Do you have this problem?

audio problem
thanks for this thread ,
I bought elephone p6s 2 weeks ago , it is amazing except 2 problems that make me unhappy with this phone . I wish you can solve these problems to me .
first , the audio volume is too low to hear , i set all audio setting to maximum but the volume still low . Even I can not hear any incoming calls as ringtone volume is too low I should make the speaker close to my ear to hear it , I tried many applications from play store to enhance volume butall are useless , I can not hear any mp3 file or video file when i play it , i tried many players like vlc and winamp and mobo player , all are useless . I google this problem and I found many people complain from this audio problem in many other phones which have android 4.3.1 , I bought elephone p6s with 4.2.2. but when I received it I found that it hase android 4.3.1. installed , I googled for ROM 4.2.2 but I did not found even in needrom.com , they publish a rom describing it as 4.2 but when I downloaded it and Flash it I found that it is the same 4.3.1 ROM ,Realy I am disappointed and I do not know How can I solve this horrible problem .
second , The camera . It supposed to be 8MP but i the quality is not so good , the quality is of 5 MP cameras .

I'd also like to say thank you for this thread. How would any of you owners of this device rate its wifi reception, compared to other phones?

I heard somewhere that the G3S has the same chipset as the G4. Is that true?
If G4 ROMs don't work on it, where can I find ROMs that do?

order
I have ordered today from minideal too.
Let's see..
The latest firmware for the G3S is dated 20130523. That's just 2 weeks old. Andorid 4.2.1 with Kernel 3.4.5. There is nothing close from 3rd parties for the G3, so for the moment I stick with that. It's kinda hybrid with LewaOS as it seems, has the themes, launcher, some other files. Fully rooted, so it's simple to get rid of the few Chinese apps if you don't need them.

Two people ordered from minideal but phones not arrived yet.
I ordered my Jiayu G3S from Aliexpress (1.06) and he should ship to me tomorrow, or day after tomorrow. After that I will report you, whats goin on
First of all GPS works perfect (some of users report gps fix issue) now everything works fine. My Jiayu ships to me with Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1, 3.4.5 Kernel, and Root Access on board. No bug as far, Antutu v3.3.1 Bench result : 12 813. My last smartphone was SGS+ and I must say Jiayu G3S got way better price/quality relationship. So far 5+ this is my rate from 1 to 6.

Cool, a G3S owner! Would you mind answering some questions about the device?
Can you please check if the compass works correctly? (Use GPS status or Google Sky map - the view of the sky should adjust according to where you're pointing the phone).
Also, shops mention the G3S has a gyroscope too. I don't know any apps that actually use it to accomplish something, only device-testing apps (Z-device test, many other, similar apps). Would you mind checking if that works?
The wired headset - I assume the bundled headset is a typical "android" one, stereo phones + mono mic + 1 button. Does the button get registered - can you control music playback (play/pause) with it when the screen is off?

Be my guest
1. Indeed compass works fine, I checked it on Google maps and Google Sky Map.
2. Yes it has gyroscope I checked it as you suggested on Z-Device.
3. And YES button is registered: I can control playback (play/pause) normally and also when the screen is off, Answering calls, Pick the last number from calls and call, make all things as you always do with android
I tried Gta3 from market, it works with full details with no lag! Dead Trigger full details - extra smooth, everything on this phone works ideal - extra smooth this is the best word to describe this device. Trust me on word.
Im still testing new things, if u have more questions? Ask me

That's great (I should have asked these before I bought my A789, which I'll be replacing with either G3S or G4 advanced)
I'm not sure what is the "standard way" for a notification LED to behave on Android, but my old Blade would start blinking green on ANY notification and blink red on low battery. I addition to that, it would stay red when charging and charge was below 90%, and stay green when charge was >90% and was plugged in.
What can the LED on the G3S do - can it also convey charging state as it does on the Blade?
Beyond the notification LED, I'm mildly interested (I assume it either works or won't be a problem to fix myself) in the following:
The ROM partitioning - how large is the /data partition (called "Internal storage, I think) and the "USB storage", if any? (The A789 has way too much USB storage and too little /data, had to flash the MBR/EBR to fix that...)
Any issues with the screen brightness? My A789 gets randomly stuck on full blast until I lock the screen.
What kind of recovery is bundled/available? Is it easy to get into with a key combination?

Considering LED notification: works fine, behavior is the same like in your Blade. I think is standard way of behave LED in android.
1. Internal storage has 4Gb and 2.5Gb for user space. U can mount Micro Sd card up to 32GB. I use 16GB micro sd card class 10.
2. Screen brightness works perfect, both in auto mode and manual mode.
3. To access recovery I am using Rom Manager, and recovery looks like in other smartphones with stock recovery.

P9 and roaming
Hi SAS007, I just got my P9 today and I can't make any calls at all. I am with T-Mobile, put my sim in, switched on and all the T-Mobile settings came up Access Point Name, etc. I also get an 'r' on the signal indicator which I believe means roaming. Every time I try to make a call, I get a message saying that roaming isn't enabled. Have you had any similar issues? If so, how did you manage to get around them?
Many thanks.

Hi mate.dont worry about the roaming thing.I noticed this on my device also.
when i went to make my first call i got the message that i was roaming etc..just okay it and use as normal the roaming R icon dissipated after a while. If your in the UK you can not have any problems roaming makes no difference...
Also in your data/network settings in the part for preferred networks select automatically choose/select network.

Great phone affordable price
Hi. I got mine from ebay and cost me about £70. I must say I didn't expected that but it is a great phone and still can not believe its price. I have no problems so far. It accepted my two sim cards straight away, my main one being on the Three UK network. The internet is much more faster than my previous Xperia Arc S. The battery life is great too. All day making calls and browsing the internet playing games etc. and still have got some left by the evening when I get home. This phone is a big joy and very affordable for students on a budget.
Have you guys tried flashing Android 4.4 KitKat stock ROM on the Cubot P9? I suspect that would increase battery life with 20% to 25%. If yes let me know please I would appreciate that.
Cheers
preloader.bin
Hello,
Could a kind soul dump and upload his cubot P9 preloader.bin ?
Tried the doogee ROM, screen was weird / all messed up so I reinstalled the stock rom at the top of this thread. The phone is half bricked now: phone starts only to show a blinking screen, in recovery or normal mode. SP Flash Tool is still working though.
I read that erasing the preloader on a MTK6572W can be messy, on some devices there appears to be some fixes. (Xolo A500s for example, see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46735224)
I hope there's a solution for the P9 as well..
Thanks in advance!
some updates
managed to flash a custom recovery (rua1 autoCWM v5.5.0.4 for CUBOT P9)
Thing is it acts weird: whole lines are shaking, when I go up / down it goes directly from 1st line to the 3rd etc
I guess the LCD driver on my P9 is different (brand new P9, sticker inside says its from march 2014).
I would gladly appreciate it if someone could upload a full ROM dump of a similar P9.
Thanks,
tieum
Have you tried search the ROM on needrom?
There are some dumps of the original ROM over there.

I've read wonderful reviews on this phone .Hoping to get one maybe next week.Would you guys recommend it?.I don't have a fortune to spend on a galaxy device and I'm not concerned about the camera ,so how is it guys?

Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 S (OT-6050Y) Owners

This is a nice mid-range phone and I got from Orange Poland with agreement. All works fine and fluid. Even during benchmarks it is barely warm. 7.5 mm thickness (Galaxy S4 dimensions) and very slim LCD bezel. Double click screen to wake device. White status LED etc.

Detailed specs: http://www.gsmarena.com/alcatel_idol_2_s-6134.php
In short:
5 inç 720p IPS screen
Snapdragon 400 4 x 1.2 GHz / Adreno 305 GPU
1 GB RAM
8 GB Internal (5.5 GB available) + microSD (64 GB Lexar 600x UHS-1 microSD tested, working after FAT format by 6050Y)
LTE 150 Mbps, 802.11n Wi-Fi Dual, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, A-GPS/GLONASS
8 MP Camera with Flash and Full HD Video
Android 4.3 Installed (4.4 Update Possible)
2150 mAh non-removable battery
Official support website http://www.alcatelonetouch.com/global-en/support/download/idol_2_s.html where you can download manual, quick user guide and two important apps.
Smart Suite for managing your mobile. (microUSB connection or Wi-Fi)
Mobile Upgrade Q for checking offical upgrades.
Some downsides:
MHL not supported, only Miracast
OTG not supported
FM Radio works only mono
Non removable cover
SIM Unlock
Mine came SIM locked. So I searched some and found a YouTube video that unlock is easy with FuriousGold device. Same person has an online code generator. I have no connection to them but I tested and it worked. Also really cheap only $4.9
http://www.oneunlock.com/en/tools/solution/alcatel-sfr-vodafone-motorola-unlock-codes
It all finished within seconds. I filled form. Operator code is written on product box, on top of IMEI code. After getting email I saw 4 codes and entering only first one was enough.
If you don't have a problem with SIM lock you don't need to do it naturally. But I detected it whenever installed a different operator's SIM card. There are only 5 trials and use them wisely.
Also if you want to play by the book, Orange Poland website asks you to go their office or call helpline for unlock and payment will be 77 PLN which makes nearly $25.
WARNING: When you unlock your device they have a right to say product warrany is invalid.
ROOTING
Again you don't need to root but I used to have programs like Titanium Backup, Xposed Framework, Viper4Android etc so I wanted to find a solution.
ATM the only method I know that works is Towel Root Only install it and click button. Matter of second and done. After that you might want to install SuperSU or Superuser app.
After rooting, there is a possibility that Alcatel official device updates won't be compatible. In that case unroot might be necessary. I haven't tried but SuperSU app has an Full Unroot option. Please let us know if you tried.
CUSTOM RECOVERY
ATM I could not find CWM or TWRP suitable for this device. Perhaps it is not necessary since there is no custom ROM / CM package. But I am sure custom recovery can be compiled.
UPDATE: Thanks to Decker.Kaluga, we have a compatible CWM recovery now. (I have not tried yet.)

Hi,
Very good summary! I have this phone for a few days and I have cited the same defects. As against the 4.4 update is already available? Or is it a prediction?
No there is no update at this moment. Mine shows Android 4.3 JLS36C. GSMArena shows upgradable to v4.4 (KitKat) but nothing yet.
I updated OP. Please download and check with Mobile Upgrade Q time to time. Different regions might get earlier.
I have same version of android
I noticed a mismanagement of the cpu frequency, making the battery down quickly. The phone rarely drops to 300mhz / 600 mhz. Even if I use an app like "No-frills cpu control" the cpu performs well then I locked state / unlocks and the cpu gets his bad behavior. (I use CPU spy to see an average of frequencies used)
I may be attempting a restore to see if it is not the root that caused the problem.
I am trying to download an "update" via mobile upgrade Q. I do not know if this is really an update or if he downloads the same version. In any case it is very very slow.
I just plugged.
"There is no greater software version available."

CPU Spy giving me a similar report. CPU works full time or sleeps, not visiting other states. I will install Frills and check if anytihng changes.
I find a solution.
1) Root your phone
2) Install no frills cpu control
3) Set the frequency as :
4) Important : click on settings
5) Activate "prevent changes from others apps" (Otherwise the change will affect only a few seconds!)
The frequency is now well controlled according to the telephone usage. Finished the maximum frequency for reading mails and gain battery life!
I will try your advice today.
I installed Usemon and observed core by core activity and it seems device use first and second core most of the time and goes for 1.19 ghz directly. In case more power needed other cores are activated. Maybe they cared about number of active cores, not the freq steps at all.

Yes it worked. Half time 300, half time 1190 MHz recorded.
OWN S5030 / Idol 2 S 6050 / TCL S830U
Here in Chile this unit came with the "OWN" brand, model S5030, which is actually the same TCL brand, model S830U or Alcatel OneTouch, model 2S Idol. The point is that this model can not even Rooting. I tried with Root Towel and does not work. As I read, it is because my kernel is later than June 3.
I was disappointed that the 2 slots lower speakers are only for design, simulating stereo speakers, when in fact it is monoaurual only on the right speaker.
The interface is terrible, and it's not very customizable. Thanks to Nova Launcher is easier to use.
Finally, I highlight the screen and 4 cores. The 1GB memory is low and unable to do root, I can not install the Adaway, so the ads have me rotten.
Sorry to hear Root Towel does not work. It means if there will be an official update it might refuse to install or even if installs then no more root solution.
Rooting helped me to install Titanium, Xposed Installer (Gravitybox) and Viper4droid FX. Last one improves the sound output clearly. But yes ext. speakers are loud but Mono.
I use Nova Launcher, too.
Don't forget to try Qualcomm's BatteryGuru app for Snapdragon SoC.
It's good to know I'm not the only one with this phone

Thanks for the answer. It's about time to have to get the root, so I must just wait a couple of months and Vroot friends or Towelroot they will succeed.
As data, yesterday I installed it on my computer the "Mobile Upgrade Q" software, version 4.6.5 from Alcatel page and it detected my phone without problems. After 2 and a half hours to get the "upgrade" from their servers (from China I guess), my phone was formatted and received exactly the same version as before: Android 4.3, Build JLS36C. I must admit that I breathed after that, and I could have left with a piece of brick. Relief.
It's good to know I'm not the only one with this phone. I will light a candle for the Root out soon. A hug and thanks again.
Hi everyone,
Please note an update is available from the phone (in France) (I have not tested with the PC software) but this is not an update to kitkat (4.3 still). She made me lose root and I can not put it back with towelroot. I have not seen any big changes, only a few details. I advise you not to do it ... unless you want to help me find a solution to reset the root!
So it is impossible to put the cpu setting with ... autonomy is not as good.

Vroot and Towelroot only works with the previous kernel version to 3 June. In my case, my phone already came with the updated kernel, so now you're like me, stuck for a while.
Having root again is only a matter of time so we just have to wait.
According to GSMArena, this phone will receive Kitkat, so hopefully our Chinese friends TCL (Alcatel) do not forget this model and check out the new version.
How Root Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 S (6050)
Finally I could Rooting my phone Alcatel OneTouch Idol 2 S (6050), also known as ÖWN S5030 and TCL S830U.
The steps are:
1. Go to: http://www.decker.su/2014/11/cwm-recovery-alcatel-ot-6036y-ot-6050y.html
2. Download package 'cwm_alcatel_6050y.7z'
3. Extract all files
4. Install ABD drivers from file 'AdbDriverInstaller.exe'
5. Put your device in FastBoot mode (turn it off, than, hold Volume Down + Power button. After Alcatel One Touch Idol 2S logo appears, release buttons)
6. If you did everything correctly - Alcatel logo will stay on screen. Plug in phone via USB.
7. Run file 'check_device.cmd'. If Ok, you can see "9e0eb10 fastboot" caption at bottom of command
window (digits can be other). If you see this caption - follow next step, if don't - check adb drivers.
8. Run file 'flash_recovery.cmd' to flash cwm. All done. To boot into CWM turn off power, and hold Volume Up and press Power.
9. Now the SuperSU. Go to : http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/qa-alcatel-one-touch-idol-2-s-ot-6050y-t2902408/page2
10. Download file 'BETA-SuperSU-v2.42.zip' and copy to the phone
11. Flash ZIP with CWM

What did you try to update with, since there's no official update ?
And I have a backup of the 4.3 rom, you can restore the system partition with it

Managed to update with alcatels PC tool. (Took 8 freaking hours to download)
On update - I'm using the 6050a which currently has kk. I managed to capture the ota from the tool and I'm gonna try releasing a zip for 6050y (AFAIK the hardware is the same, so should work fine if build.prop is edited accordingly. )

Introduction
The Antelife.com decided to send a SISWOO C55 Longbow. The SISWOO is a Chinese brand, but they have a technical center in Spain and Germany, that solves most of the problem related to the equipment without the need to ship it to China in order to be repaired.
The SISWOO C55 Longbow, is the latest handset of this brand, and at this moment is the cheapest octa-core with 5.5 "HD screen you can find.
So if you are looking for a new phone, read the review, and this may be the one for you.
Specs
Unboxing and Equipment Description:
The box that protects the mobile phone contains all information related to it, giving an indication of their capabilities.
With the phone we can find inside the box the wall charger, a micro-USB cable, a protective screen, and the mobile phone manual.
With a simple appearance, the SISWOO C55 doesn't have the new fashion display, the 2.5D.
The buttons are not backlit, but are outlined in silver, which integrates them on the phone discreetly.
The front camera of 5mpx, is accompanied by an LED flash so that selfies remain perfect even in environments where conditions are not the best. The SISWOO C55 contrary to what is usual, does not have a notification LED.
At the top we find the 3.5mm jack to connect the headphones and the IR-Blaster.
On the right side we have the Power button.
On the left side we find the volume button.
At the bottom we have the micro-USB port for charging and connecting to the PC, and the microphone.
At the rear, the there is a 13mpx, dual LED flash camara and the speaker. The cover shows a "rubbery" aspect that is extremely smooth and pleasant to the touch, and that allows you to hold the phone easily.
Operating System
The SISWOO C55 come with android Lolipop 5.1 installed, and as is habit and is fully stock without any pre-installed applications, the only type of customization that SISWOO has made was to change the home page of the browser, all the rest comes clean, of the usual chines garbage.
Screen
The SISWOO C55 comes equipped with a screen 5.5" IPS with a HD resolution of 720 * 1280P, as usual in this type of display viewing angles are excellent without any colors distortion .
Display lighting levels are within the normal, which allows mobile phone use with any light, even in the street, with the incidence of direct sunlight on the screen, we can use it normally, and at night, when the environment in low light places, it doesn't causes any kind of discomfort or become tiresome, contrary to what happens with many other equipment.
Performance
The Longbow SISWOO C55 comes equipped with a Mediatek 6753 processor, an octa-core 1,3GHz speed. To deal with the graphics there is a Mali T-720 at 450MHz, the RAM 2GBs, make the device very smooth running, and that ensures a good performance in whatever task.
AnTuTu
If we like to play games, this SISWOO C55, it will be a good device for that, despite being away from the performance of the top machines, we are not going to be ashamed, and will be able to run all games currently available on Playstore.
Base MarkOS
Vellamo
Epic Citadel
3D Mark
Games like NOVA 3 Asphalt 8 Modern Combat 5 , were used to test the real performance in games, and all of them run without any kind of lag or breaks, so in the near future, this phone will be able to run all games without too much difficulty.
Audio
The sound from the only existing speaker in SISWOO C55, is very nice, despite a lack of depth, it continues to be of sufficient quality to be used for listening to music or to see a video.
During a call, the SISWOO C55, it has excellent sound quality, the internal speaker and fulfills its functions being easily audible, the same applies to the microphone, we are heard with great clarity and sharpness.
Camera
The SISWOO equipped the C55 with a rear camera of 13mpx, and I have to admit that this camera is far from the best, if in near photos it manages to meet, with a relatively good image quality, the photos of landscapes is disappointing, the inability to capture details, is quite noticeable.
Click on the pictures to open them in the maximum resolution.
The front camera has an LED flash, which should helps when conditions are less than ideal, however the pictures always show a high degree of noise even in well-lit environments.
Both the front and back camera have the similar problems, so this should be caused by poor software optimization.
Connectivity
The range of SISWOO C55 WIFI is very good, it can reach about 60m on open space, and about 20m inside the house.
The 4G network, which can be active for any of the SIMs is also very good, reached speeds are higher than I do at home with WIFI.
The Bluetooth range is also very good it, and you can lay your phone and walk around the house without losing signal.
One thing that comes with SISWOO C55 is the IR Blaster, with it you can replace all the home remotes, and let's be honest, 99% of the time we know where our phone is, and the remotes are capable of disappearing into the air when we need them. I could easily program 2 TV's from Samsung, one from LG, a Kaon digital box, 2 AC devices, and one stereo from Sony, so you can program just about everything you have at home, and works quite well as the program that comes pre installed for this purpose the ZAZA Remote, is extremely easy to use.
The hotknot works very well, and is very effective to share files between devices.
GPS
GPS is very fast to capture satellites, and with very good accuracy.
The SISWOO C55 managed to secure the signal indoors, with an error of 4m which is very good.
Battery
The battery of 3300mAh in the SISWOO C55, can easily endure a very intense day of work, with normal use it reaches 2 days.
Battery life is always dependent on the usage of your phone, in my case, during these two days, always with WIFI on, 4G data connected, and the Bluetooth, to connect the phone to a smartwatch. So taking into account the use I gave it, I consider that the duration of the battery to be very good.
Final thoughts
PROS:
- Price
- Overall quality of the equipment
- IR Blaster
Against:
- Camara
The SISWOO C55 Longbow, is the first device of this kind to have a low price of € 150, given that comes equipped with an octa-core 64bit, 2GBs of ram and a 5.5 "HD screen, and a good build quality, this is a device to consider if you are buying a new phone. This is if they can get by with the poor camera.
I want to thank Antelife for having provided this equipment to be tested, and could share my opinion with you.
You can purchase the equipment by following the link below.

Any question just ask.
Camera shot a few pictures are not clear.
when I took the first photos, I thought it had been blurred by having fingerprints stains on the camera lens, but after cleaning the lens photos keep the same way.
After some research, I found out this was a common problem with SISWOO C55 owners.
I believe this problem to be created by a bad software optimization, so a patch should be able to correct it.
I know there is root for the C55 (MTK6753), but I seriously have no idea how to do it for this phone. Did you?

Have you tried this?
http://forum.siswoo.com/forums/topic/twrp-recovery-siswoo-c55-6753-root/
Yes I have read and tried to follow the steps, but the steps are not clear to me.
1. How do I install a custom recovery like TWRP/CWM on the C55?
2. How do I apply root (I know as soon as a custom recovery is set up I can install SuperSU..)?
3. The Siswoo's forum speaks of the scatter file and the *.img file. I have both from the site, but I have no idea how to apply it.
I tried using MTK Droid Tool, but that program doesn't recognize the Longbow C55, however my computer can read its internal storage and SD-card. Same thing on my laptop.
So far it seems a great phone for a very fair price, all it really needs now is root

If flash tools doesn't recognize you C55, it's because you have the wrong drivers installed, so you have to uninstall the previous ones. To do so, you have to google for a program called USBDeview, connect your C55 to your pc without the battery, and delete the driver that has the green circle. After that, you have to install the correct driver, so you can't let windows update install the default one, because it may not work, just download the drivers form the siswoo support page, and install it.
Now the flash tools should be able to recognize the phone, so before you flash the recovery, you must unmark all the options except for the recovery, and replace the original recovery by the custom one you downloaded, just click on the location in the recovery line, and a window will pop-up so you can indicate the folder where the recovery file is placed. Then just hit the download button, and connect your phone to your PC. It should take a couple of seconds.
After flashing the recovery, google and download the SuperSU zip file and paste it on the SD-card, enter the recovery, and flash it. Finally you will have root access.
I hope it was helpful, you can understand my English.

confirmed, will take a look.
no bug, more a special thing with android 11, when you connect two phones enable "Settings > Network and Internet > Hotspot and tethering > Bluetooth tethering" on both phones.
my jabra speak 510 works instantly without anything special. see pictures.
dont know what you are do with bluetooth, but if you have wifi in your location its way faster to share files with kdeconnect(is in playstore/fdroid), directly from device to device or pc ;-)
I have no idea on where to start. You were the first who actually did an >android9 rom (all android 10 and 11 ones i've tried failed) to SM-G903M. But it doesn't stops right there.
-Performance is amazing. It feels even faster than CrDroid in galaxy S7 (my older, now screen-damaged, phone).
-Battery control levels (battery economy/balanced/performance) in battery settings keep true to what they promise. Battery economy keeps only 4 of the 8 cortex-a53 small cores on, to a 1ghz maximum, balanced delivers excellent performance and battery life, performance is excellent for compression and other tasks but with a higher power draw
-Memory management is excellent, something vital in a 2gb ram phone.
-Noop as default I/O
-ROM is so slim, even after gapps, trashing with all possible apps, custom whatsapp, and all kinds of addons, i still have 2GB of my 16GB space left, something IMPOSSIBLE on stock ROMs.
-Face unlock is smooth, fast, precise.
-No bugs as of now
I'm really asking myself if you don't actually use this phone daily, because the level of attention to details (geekbench even shows the phone in this ROM performance rivaling the j7 and exynos 7870 which is a faster chip) is amazing. Even the onscreen button toggle works (not using them btw), something which failed miserably for me in crdroid and dotOS from galaxy s7. I can't stress out how grateful i am, i thought i would never leave android 6 because my model (sm-g903m) was not compatible with other ROMs. I will update to android 12 if you make it happen for us again, sm-g903m, sm-g903f, sm-g903w, all included, as some developers (you an exception) seem to forget there are users worldwide who do not own american models
Thank you so much. If you need any actual help with anything, spreading the news about your ROM with a youtube video review in my native language and in clear english, i can do it. Just PM me.
Everything working great
Does this ROM have FM-radio?

Thanks for the answer, will try kdeconnect.
bluetooth works.
How's the mic working on this ROM, is it also very low in calls?
I might test after I play around with the LOS a bit more, see if I can get it to work there.

I just tested this ROM yesterday and unfortunately mic works in the same manner as in LOS 17.1 and LOS 18.1
I just don't get - how it is that some people here report that everything works perfectly and some can't have regular phone calls. MICGAIN patches do not work. S5 Neo lifevibes by danwood76 work only in v2 (still not close to stock quality). Speakerphone completely dead.
My device is SM-G903F (European distribution), maybe there is some difference in microphone hardware values between different devices distributions? It seems as if those custom ROMs mic programming has way too low values for mic input compared to mic hardware.
Hey devs, is there any chance to fix this problem? I volunteer to test any solutions and report them back here for future reference.
Thanks

thx for reporting, i will take a look
edit: my device is a SM-G903F too, today my GF and me switch the phone, make several calls, then switch back, do some test calls, everything work for both sides normal, cant reproduce any issue.
anyone else with this problem?

Hi,
Didn't know you replied by editing. Been too busy during whole week to take a closer look on this thread.
Thanks a lot for trying to figure out what's going on. This is really strange that you did not experience any issues during phone calls - what distribution your phone is? I've read that there may be some differences between different distributions around the world in hardware configuration. I discarded version of mic malfunction - before swithing to LOS 17.1 and 18.1 and CrDroid there were not problems with phone calls, audio recording and camera recording with stock ROM.
I am not exaggerating about this issue - wvanstraalen also reported this problem and there had been numerous reports in this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...c-gain-and-a-little-speaker-gain-too.3491483/ but they do not apply to Android 11.
Is there any way to compile a file/files which would contain insight info about how mic behaves in different circumstances and how mic values in mixer paths are fixed? I don't know if I am precise at the moment - I just write what my guts tell me what may be wrong with my and some people's devices. There must be some way to fix this. Or maybe there are people who have some practical knowledge about this issue. I do not expect miracles, but if you could point what could possibly done I'd be very grateful. If not - maybe there are some devs here who have dealt with this issue with different Samsung devices?
Kind regards,
Mike

Thanks.
Some very significant performance improvements seem to have been achieved from the first version to the january 2022 update. Cores now seem to be able to turn off in heavy multitasking, such as with YouTube music, browser alongside facebook app as the first open app. This was impossible in the old ROM version. It may help with temperatures and prolong new third party batteries lifespan (not speaking about the more expensive ones but the ones below 10usd sold for the original galaxy s5 but compatible with the s5 neo, for those who ask themselves which ones i'm talking about. I highly distrust new batteries claiming higher capacity than the original as well)
After flash im missing data network, I have a G903M, anyone else with this problem?
