Hello everyone! I was wondering if someone has a solution for THIS ANOYING problem:
I have a Razr HD XT925 and when I connect it to HUAWEI B183 Cube(http://www.huaweidevice.com.eg/Product-Description/Mobile Access Devices-B183.php) 3G WiFi router, WiFi is in most cases stuck to 1 mbps. Sometimes, after a 15 or so minutes, it connects to normal speed and it lasts for a short period of time and then it's back to 1 mbps.
All other devices (PC, laptops, tablets, smartphones) that connect to this router have no problems whatsoever. Only Razr HD XT925.
On the other hand, my Razr HD has no speed problems on any other router that was ever conected to except this Huawei B183...
I have tried everything that crossed my mind. Changing channels, router settings, security, moving it around the house and floors, putting it as close as 1 foot from the phone, probably every android app for fixing wifi...
Any help would be really appreciated...
Here are some screenshoots

are you using the stock rom? - long shot, but in the advanced wifi settings of the razr could you try setting the frequency band to 2,4ghz instead of auto? I had an issue with the RAZR i not properly connecting to my FritzBox router when set to "automatic". A firmware update on the router finally resolved the issue, but this could be a workarround as a start.

Yes, I'm using stock rom. I already tried that. Same thing happens.
Thanks anyway..
And it's not only my Razr HD that has this problem. A friend's Razr HD is behaving the same way with my WiFi router
Certainly a router issue then, I know it doesn't help much, but if playing with the frequency bands and WiFi settings on the razr doesn't help, best bet is contacting the router manufacturer's support..

Im telling you, already tried everything.. I even contacted Internet provider and manufacturer for help but all in vain.. Nobody can't or doesn't want to help. I have posted this problem because I find it intriguing

Have you tried a non RAZR HD phone? I have also seen bad WiFi performance from my RAZR HD with certain access points while other Android devices work fine.

It could be a known issue with the rom you choose. I am paying for a tethering plan also however my rom ordroid does not support tethering! So therefore I don't have tethering . It depends on the rom.

If you have any trouble with the settings you can pm me and I'll help. But if you want to tether again get this app. My Rom is ordroid and tethering is not working on it so this app is a God send! will be stress testing it stock to make sure all is well for a week before I S-Off etc it.
Ok, Ive had my one x for two weeks and its a fantastic phone with absolutely pathetic battery life. So far the battery life is always inferior to my old Atrix (first one).
On a few occasions its been so bad I don't even think its possible that this phone isnt broken. I'm still locked bootloader, no hacked apps, customizations, anything. Stock and a few apps like dropbox and zynga games.
Today was especially pathetic. "Voice calls" was exactly one phone call under 10 minutes long.

Is it this bad for everyone?
That's pretty bad. Looks like you didn't even have the screen on all that much, either.
I'm assuming you're on 1.85? Have you tried a reset?
For comparison, and others' feedback, here's a recent snap of my stats. I'm not too confident my battery is up to snuff either.

Thanks for the reference. Whats your battery life like under very light usage? I think i played scramble with friends twice, and had a 10 minute phone call. Maybe a quick web page or two. On 1.85
I have at&t HTC one x also my battery life is ok I read somewhere that one x phones with the serial number ht24.... And ht23.... May have battery and WiFi issues my phone is a ht24..... Serial number but mine seems to be fine so far I had it for only 3 weeks. But here's some screen shots of my power usages and one is where my brightness setting is at.

Where did you read that HT24s had issues? Mine is an HT24 and it has rock solid wifi and ridiculously good battery life.
@OP- Do a factory reset and and don't install anything and run it for a day or two and see what kind of battery life you get. The important thing to look at is screen on time. If you get from 3-6 hrs screen on time (depending on cell signal, wifi, other factors) than your phone is fine.
I read it on this forum about a week ago someone posted the email conversation they had with HTC but mine is ht24 and it works fine my girlfriend just bought one yesterday and hers is the 25 so I'll be able to see if there is a difference I have noticed one thing about my WiFi it will attempt to connect to secured WiFi signals that I dont have the password to it'll say obtaining ip the say signal lost and keep repeating it till I turn it off

The G icon is a known problem with any TORXX ROM. Search the viper thread.
So what rom do u reccomend?
Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
From what it seems like, you should have 4G. When not using data, your device switches to 3G mode (saves battery). As soon as you start to use data, it switches to 4G. US ROMs show the 4G icon at all times, but the same thing happens. EU ROMs show H instead of 4G but, again, it's all the same. Viper has a glitch where it shows G instead of H, it is annoying.
If you are still skeptical, try what someone mentioned above by typing to code into the dialer and choosing WCDMA preferred or auto modes. As for what ROM to use, it's all the same regarding data. I am on T-Mobile US and use viperOneS with full and stable 4G speeds. I also have the latest radio from the latest EU OTA; 2.31 or something like that.

As they say, opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one...I'd try them all and see what you can live with. Viper seems to be the most feature rich Sense ROM, but you have to accept that your signal indication may not be accurate. As they say in the Viper thread, just think of G as "Great" signal...try running a speed test and you'll probably see that you are getting 4G speeds when it says G

Okay, I've just noticed this the past couple of days, but when I look into my battery usage I notice that wifi is getting turned on by itself at some point during the day and remaining on for a little while.
I rarely use wifi, so it shouldn't be turning itself on, I also checked to make sure none of the smart actions crap was activating it, no wifi direct or anything of the sort either. I'll include some screen shots. Running completely stock ICS, most recent OTA update.
Does anyone have an idea of why this is happening and what I can do to stop it? Thanks.
UPDATE:
After one day on the official jelly bean ota update I'm still having this issue. More screen shots included.

I have not yet received the update, so I can't tell anything. But when I check my battery usage during the time that it's on I have nothing about wifi in the notification bar, always says I have a 3G data connection. And it seems to only do it when I have the screen off for long periods of time, usually during school. So maybe if my phone is going into deep sleep that has something to do with it?
I guess I'm gonna wait for the JB update before I call Verizon and see if they maybe know about this bug and will ship me a new razr...

Okay, thanks. I'm actually downloading the JB soak to install right now. I'll update with some more screen shots, results etc. After a couple of days on it.
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 2
I updated the thread with my results after most of my first day on JB. Also (and I'll feel really stupid if this was the problem all along) just today I noticed I had android beam on, but that's just NFC right? Wifi direct was set to off, so it should he fine, but just a thought.
I've also told my phone to "forget" all wifi networks, since it is doing it suspiciously only when I'm at school and I have connected to the school's wifi network before. Even though this should NOT be a problem anyway, since auto connect is off. Who knows, maybe that will be a temp fix for this weird bug.
By the way, thanks all, it's always reassuring when I'm not the only one with a problem
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 2
Geez, that's definitely not normal.
If you look at my screen shot, it almost seems like my wifi turns on when the GPS is activated (I leave GPS on). I wonder if turning off all location services will solve this. I'm about to try it now.
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using xda app-developers app
Setting all location services off didn't seem to make much difference
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using xda app-developers app
Okay, I think I've at least figured out what my problem was. Don't know if it will help with yours. When I went in and told it to forget all of my wifi networks it stopped having problems. I think it must have been trying to connect to the school's wifi even though every wifi related setting was turned off... Must be a bug. So that was my problem, I'd give that a shot if you haven't already. I'll include a screen shot of it working.
It didn't save me as much battery as I thought it would, but it's an improvement. Hope I could help.

Hi all
I got my Nexus 5 yesterday and i am having a problem with the wifi. It connects ok to my home router, however when im using it the wifi signal keeps going up and down all the time. I can see the little symbol in the right hand corner going from full wifi bars ro maybe half every 30 seconds or so. Then it will just drop, and come back on itself after a minute or so.
I have updated the router firmware etc and i have both 1st and 2nd gen nexus 7's, a htc sensation and samsung 4 mini all working fine with the wifi with no issues.
My phone is not rooted its as it was out of the box.
Does this sound like a faulty phone?

apparently without this enabled my router could not assign an ip address to my Phone.
