Never happened with mine, works just fine. I'd try factory reset if you have time to make clean install. My resolve issue. Fingerprint should work. Only thing would be screen time out limit set.

It usually works fine, but maybe 5% of the time it does this...

Sounds like a minor glitch in install of system then. Ive never had this issue. Id recommend just fresh factory reset and see if issue persists.

Hey. In latest nightly versions I noticed that screen doesn't turn off automatically after specific time. Even if "15 seconds" is set it's still permanently on. I even clobbered my homemade build to make sure that nothing is wrong on my side.
Of course issue persists after full wipe and I'm talking about automatic turn off because if you hit power button then everything works fine.
Did anybody notice it as well? i9300 here.

Hmm, I'll check this again. No problems here last I checked... This is with the device unplugged?

Yes it is.
I built clobbered build from source and also I make my best to blame everything else before I blame the base . However this time really device doesn't turn off automatically, both after first boot and after value set. Everything else works great.
I'll try to find a root of this issue. However screen off should work as long as rom works, am I right?
Consider this report as closed. Suddenly build compiled ~15 minutes ago started working properly .
Thanks for your time Entropy.
It's a bit odd - I DID have an issue this morning where I couldn't even turn off the device with the power button for 20-30 seconds after boot.
The issue disappeared, never to return...
This isn't a huge issue, but I noticed this today. Is there a way to fix this without a factory reset? The screen still reverses.

There is a setting in Settings -> Display -> Reversible animation . Did you happen to turn it off by accident ? Even if not, you might want to set/reset that option to see if it helps .
Thanks for the response. That not it. I also notice there's no rotation animation when apps rotate from potrait to landscape. They just switch.

Did you check the animation settings in Developer Options ?
Those looked normal. I gave up and did a factory reset and it working fine now. I noticed the issue after I install a beta version on adguard for what's that's worth.
try restarting the phone before doing factory restart. most of the small issues gets fixed after a reboot.

I tried everything I could think of before the reset. Rebooting was the first thing. A case like this is where I really miss having root access. If I had root I would have tried flashing a new Rom first.
Hi
Has anybody a bug like mentioned above?
My FRD-L09 with the latest fw b131 has that bug. After rebooting it works as usual but after some time it stops rotating the Screen.
The Rotation is enabled in the Settings. Tested with many apps like google fotos, the stock foto gallery, even chrome does not auto rotate.
As is said, after a reboot it works again.
Try wiping the Cache Partition in the Recovery Mode menu. If that doesn't work then backup the data on your device and perform a hard factory reset on your device.

Is the issue gone for once as you rebooted?!
Yes, as i stated above
Good
I have the same issue, after some time the rotation is not working anymore. A restart fixes that temporary, but it is getting annoying

It has happened to me twice in 2 days. Not sure if it was camera related, but that's when I noticed it because the pics I took in landscape were rotated 90 degrees in the gallery, and nothing auto-rotates after that. So rebooting fixes it.

A hard factory reset solved the problem for me, at least I did not get this issue again since 3 days.
But I think it has something to do with "smart assistance", this is the only setting that is deactivated since I've made the reset.
So try to turn things off there and maybe I am right, if not do a hard reset (Do not forget to backup your data !!)
Have the same annoying bug on my Honor Note 8, must be something to do with Huawei's power management cause it seems to happen when battery goes below 10%. Restart seems to fix it every time
Hello,
I have the same bug on my Honor 8.
Does someone found a solution ? it's very annoying
Thanks!

You are my personal hero, PreDer!
I only deacticated all options in "smart assisstence" settings. Only Smart Key is activated. I did a partition cache wipe afterwards (no factory reset!) and now everything is working perfectly for last couple of days!

Hi, any update?
Same issue here, but today It reactivated the function by itself as it stopped working with gallery and google photo uploading.
I had anyway some movement options active in smart assistance, which I now have deactivated leaving only the smart cover option.
It is still working perfectly for me with only smart key activated in settings. No issues anymore so far...
Ok thanks, looks like mine too is working again.
Something like the error message of "Google....etc etc...impossible recording" whenever the microphone was used by an app, even taking movies. I then discovered that I had to deactivate the "Ok Google on every screen" option.
By the way, even if I wanted to wait for a massive test of the B380 upgrade, I found that my Honor 8 had downloaded automatically the upgrade, prompting me to reboot to install it, when I left it connected to my home wifi.
I can't find anyway to force it not to download system upgrades by itself, I have a very bad experience from iPad of unnecessary upgrades, is there a way to take control manually of system upgrades?
Actually I haven't seen any battery improvement after the upgrade to B380...
I have the same issue. I can confirm that the reboot fixed the problem. Will see how long befoe this bug comes back.

Rebooting fixes until smart assistance critical option forces the problem to come back. It might be a conflict with some particular app, but deactivating most of the smart options one at a time to see which one is the guilty will solve the issue.
Unfortunatly, reboot fixes the bug for me for only 5 or 6 days :/

As multiple times stated, rebooting is USELESS if you don't deactivate the smart option that fights with some of the apps!

I have smart assistance turned off and it still does this. I have only had the phone for a week. Any ideas how to stop it from doing this?
Bad issue
Hi guys,
Same issue wirh FRD-L09. It's very annoyng problem. Any news to fix it?
Hard reset solves only for one day
Thanks
So got my OnePlus 7 Pro recently, GM1910 (China set) .
Flashed the 9.5.6 update. Everything is smooth. However, sometimes when i unlock the phone with fingerprint after double tapping/ single tap, the system freezes for a couple of seconds or so in the homescreen. Sometimes the screen brightness goes to the max. Then, when i press the lock button and then unlock again it's fine.
Thinking it was probably a firmware issue, i downgraded back to 9.5.4 via fastboot but the issue still persists. Not often, a couple of times a day but it's quite annoying.
Anyone else facing this issue ? Or is this a known bug.
Would appreciate any input, cheers.
I am also having issues with this - I unlock the phone via tapping then fingerprint and all I see is my wallpaper, everything else is blank (like folders, widgets, etc.). I have to lock, then unlock again, and everything shows back up.

Hidden Easter egg? Lol
Any chance those with problems are using switch to restore a backup? I was having the same problems and after wiping twice and loading everything manually the problem sells to have gone away.

Yeap, it will be back no matter what you do. For now, have to wait for OnePlus to acknowledge this issue.
When you take a screenshot while it's frozen, you can see the notification shade is down.
Not sure if this is the issue but Did you all update with securities enabled, if so have u all tried to remove the securities and sees if it still does it if not re add ur securities and try it
I always remove my securities before an update. Maybe something got corrupted.

You mean like fingerprint , pin , google account and what not ? Yes, removed them all before fastboting back to 9.5.4. Problem still persists.
Hi all!
I've been searching for a solution for some time but couldn't find any.
Always On Display stopped working on my Pixel 6a. It's all turned on in the settings but it simply doesn't work. It works only in those cases:
1. When device is rebooted into an Airplane mode
2. When device is rebooted into the Safe Mode
3. When device is rebooted but not unlocked for the first time
There are also no notifications displayed so screen wake on notification doesn't work. Same story as above.
I thought there is some app blocking it but couldn't really figure out which, I tried to disable many of them but none helped.
I did a factory reset once but issue came back after few days.
I seriously have no idea what might it be. Hope someone here might have had similar problem and found a solution.
Thanks!

Would you be down to try flashing a custom ROM?
I've read in another thread not long ago someone saying their Tap to Wake randomly stopped working. We narrowed it down to an issue with the proximity sensor (so the phone thought it was in a pocket/covered, therefore didn't let Tap to Wake work, he had to use the power button to turn the screen on). He then flashed a custom ROM (it was LOS, I think), and that solved the issue for him.
I've also had some issues with the stock ROM, flashing a non-factory one solved all of them
If you want to keep on using the factory ROM, you might wanna try using the Android Flash Tool instead of just factory resetting to make sure no corrupted settings can live on.

I would say it does not have anything in common with the proximity sensor since it works fine with airplane mode turned on. I want to stay with the factory ROM. Maybe it's an issue that will be fixed any time soon?

Why do you ask for advice if you just want to "wait for it to get fixed"?
If you've done a factory reset already, it's not a hassle re-flashing the factory ROM (since you already have your data backed up).
Fwiw, the guy with the proximity sensor issue also had it sometimes work and other times not, much like your issue

I'm trying to figure out if it's a software issue in a ROM or some applications impact..
