Thanks!
Shouldn't it suppose to be in Original Development section?
Hoping for the custom Kernel for Exynos.

I am really sorry to say friend.
It doesn't mount internal storage,External(Memory Card) and USB Storage(Pen Drive).
I came to know when I was trying to make Nandroid Backup.

I wouldn't take it as offense and I am also waiting for others to reply.
S5 is the most expensive phone so people wouldn't dare to test it on the phone now.
G900H is mostly sold in India and Samsung Service Centers are refusing warranty claims if Knox is triggered.

Why to root
Please tell me the benefits of rooting g900h (exynos) models when there 8 no custom rom available? ??

well, rooting lets you use apps like titanium backup, to backup apps+data. make a nandroid backup. install apps that needs root, install xposed modules, which neglates the point of roms... its very good. even without custom roms, if you are still new in this. please read a lot first before doing anythin above.

[Q] Can anybody help me root my Samsung Galaxy Express 2?

So just got this phone on vodafone UK and it is fairly new.
Any idea how to root it? I have had some experience with this kind of stuff.
Watch this video i uploaded on YouTube maybe this would help.

In the mos times you just need to download a zip file that 'roots' . Enter recovery and use it as an upgrade. Just reboot and you are fine

Hello, I would be also interested in the solution to root this device. It seems its so new that the way to do it is hard to find. I guess the previous poster is only to aware that this would void his warranty.
So anyone care to enlighten the knowledge in how to proceed to lift the root restrictions.
I have found that Vol Button down, Home, Power gains download mode.

If it is true that this device is almost an s4 mini then perhaps with heimdall one can try to instal s4 mini recovery image. Once booted in recovery one can mount device system partiton rw and copy some superuser apk and the su binary to their places.

As it turns out kernel source is available (SM-G3815_JB_Opensource.zip)
but some kernel configs try to limit root usage, like:
CONFIG_SEC_RESTRICT_ROOTING=y

CONFIG_SEC_RESTRICT_FORK=y

I compressions after the. tar.md5, the folder is located odin, CWM, and original recovery, and root.
Not responsible for destroying your phone. Better not try this recovery if you do not get it.

[RECOVERY][UNOFFICIAL] CWM Recovery for the Samsung Galaxy S5

Ok folks, thanks to some leakage, some awesome users/testers, Chainfire and his root magic, and me with so of mine, you all have a almost fully functioning CWM Recovery.
This was built from a SM-G900F recovery dump and may or may not work on all variants. Time will tell as they actually release.
[#MyDisclaimer]
People to Thank
koush - for his awesome recovery.
CyanogenMod - for their hlte device repo I ported to the klte (kltexxx in this case)
ricky310711 - for providing dumps and testing
leoaudio13 - for providing access to device and testing
utkanos - for his original work on hlte (which all this is based off of)
Known Issues
Write permissions to internal storage.
Confirmed working on:
G900F
G900T
G900W8
G900I
G900P
Confirmed not working on:
G900H - exynos
G900V - locked bootloader (thanks Verizon!!!)
G900A - locked bootloader (thanks AT&T!!)
[#ADBShellInstallRecovery]
[#InstallwithOdin]
NOTE: Sometimes the device does *not* boot into recovery mode. Just do the entire procedure again if this happens. If it still will not install, make sure that in Odin "Auto Reboot" is not checked. Then after flashing, pull the battery, and boot with VolUp+Home+Power button to boot into recovery manually. This will start the install process.

I have ported roms in the past to Kindle Fire HD from the Nexus tabs. It's way easier to port than to build a rom from scratch. The tricky part is finding the easiest roms to work with.
Well I can't do either.
Wouldn't we want to get something on here other than stock?

Well I would think that you would need a working custom recovery with external SD card support first. Though the big feature I am looking forward to is a kernel that supports Roehsoft Ram Expander (swap) which while it works fine on my S3 does not work at all on the Tab 4 7.0.

What I did was downloaded the TWRP 2.8.0.1 .img for t230 then flashed it over the older non-working TWRP using #Rashr. It works for me on SM-T230NU and wipe works. Dalvik/Cache, everything.

I resstored the device in odin to the latest factory firmware then flashed the twrp in odin, rebooted directly to recovery and flashed supersu. Rebooted to system, set up all my stuff and flashed the new twrp over the old twrp using rashr. I had to reboot once to set up rashr before i could flash but, it all worked perfectly for me

Is there any way to root this yet? I couldn't find anything.
I'd love a DE-bloated ROM too but I know it doesn't exist yet.
thanks for any help.
Looking for the same thing. Google is not helping. The phone must be too new.

Can you please run Antutu, the benchmarking apk. It would be amazing to get to see the score of the 2.2ghz octa core snapdragon chipset. I have the j3 emerge 327p, rooted and twrp installed (thanks to Ashyx for building twrp and making a way to decrypt data partition!!) I can say with an antutu score of over 28k its the best of the j3 models, so im very eager to check out. Also check out a dev names Messi2050, he developed the twrp for original boost and tmobile j7.
Does this device boot in permissive mode?!
So i find myself with bith a brand spanki g new sm-J327t and sm-j727p. Two pretty cool phones, same phone really. But for the first time since Ive started rooting phones in these past couple months i find myself with no phone to toy with. Developing root is much beyond my skill set. Lets get some root action on these two phones........please!!

Im just using Antutu for the first time so Im not exactly sure if I'm quoting you the right set of numbers but I got 60,403 if that seems logical.
Ok seeing as no-one could be bothered to respond to my post I'm just gonna leave this here.
It may boot it may not? It may not even install if this device has a locked bootloader.
If it does then great, report any issues along with the recovery log.
If it doesn't then descriptive information is required along with screenshots where possible. Anybody who simply posts generic 'NOT WORKING' will be ignored.

It flashed just fine, but will not boot. The partitions seem to be off as you can not access microsd, or internal storage and wipe gets permission denied errors for usb otg and microsd. Thanks for working on this...I tried porting it but it didn't even flash:crying:

You say it doesn't boot, but it clearly has, confused?
Also the errors I'm seeing is what I expected using the stock kernel.
The next build will be using a custom built kernel and all those issues should be fixed.
The internal storage won't mount until the /data partition is FORMATTED to remove encryption.
Thanks for testing and reporting.
Hats off

Thanks for putting your foot forward and working on this. Development is beyond my scale of knowledge. Someone had posted the open-source for the model but i dont know what to do with it. If not to much you ask think you might do something for the j327t as well? I have both but the j3 prime is my day to day.
Thanks in advance

Oh dear, locked bootloader I'm afraid. No chance of custom recovery for that device.

Which splash screen, twrp or Samsung? Also which firmware build are you running?
Try this one out, this is a kernel recompile. Flash with latest ODIN. http://www.mediafire.com/file/3731mvscl01ruwo/odin3_v3.12.5.zip
