1.Install drivers for your mobile on your PC using this thread
2. Download cwm+scatter.rar or Twrp_2.4.4.0.rar and SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1222.00.rar , unzip/extract them.
3. Now open extracted SP Flash Tool folder and run Flash_tool.exe

4. Click on "Scatter-loading" button which is on the right side below Downloading Agent. A new window will open. Browse to the extracted cwm+scatter folder and select MT6575_Android_scatter.txt file
5. Flash tool will populate the Map file on the application window. You will see multiple entries. Uncheck all entries except for RECOVERY.
6. Now click on "Download". Warning message will occur, but ignore that and click Yes.
7. You will see in the status bar below "Searching", now connect your phone via the USB cable.
8. Wait for the process to finish and then you will get a window showing green circle.

Note : This method requires a rooted mobile
1. Download Mobile Uncle Tools from here app and install it and provide superuser permissions when prompted
2. Now keep the recovery.img provided in the cwm+scatter.rar or Twrp_2.4.4.0.rar file into the root of your sdcard
3. Now select "Recovery update" option
4. Click yes if prompted . This will install cwm on your device
5. Now switch off your Phone and press Power+Volume Up button to enter recovery
6. If anything goes wrong i am posting stock recovery as well
7. Flash stock Recovery if anything goes wrong

Try flashing using second method i.e. mobile uncle tools method and report me if it still persist . The recovery is Power+volume UP

the first method(sp flashtool never works) and flashing via mobile uncle tools completes but phone doesnt boot in recovery so could you please say or post here the source from where you have got the recovery so that i can find the solution for my problem

Try this mobile uncle tool apk . The latest version gave me some problems at the start too . i have posted this in the main thread . i will post the pics of cwm on celkon a98 as soon as my friend gives me .

Micromax Canvas Music A88 - All things root & Development!

As we all know after the success of Canvas series, Micromax is flying high.They recently launched a new phone called Canvas Music which comes prebundled with a JBL Tempo Headset.
Its my first thread in XDA!!:fingers-crossed:
So here it is-
1.Drivers

3.ROOT Guide
By using Root with Restore by Bin4ry v15.7z(download from attachments)
1.Enable USB debugging on your device. To do that, go to Settings > Development > USB debugging.
2.Connect your device to any PC/laptop and install the drivers .
3.Unzip the root tool you downloaded above.
4.Change the mode of your device from USB Storage to Media Device and proceed further. This change can be done only when you have
connected your device to the PC, so don't go mad searching for this option before you have even connected your device.
6.Run the runme.bat file.
7.A command prompt with weird green letters will pop-up on your screen.
Follow the onscreen instructions carefully. To start off, you willl need to type in a "1" and press enter.
Note: If you ever want to Unroot your Micromax A88, follow the above steps till you reach this one and then, instead of typing "1", type "x" and hit enter. Follow the instructions that appear on the command prompt after that.
8Your device will reboot during the process after which Bin4ry will copy some files to your device.
9.Else just reboot your phone
10.When the green letters in the command prompt says Have Fun!
That means, your device is rooted now and you can enjoy Superuser permissions!

Install Mobile Uncle Tools from Google Play
Download img from attachments.
1.Download the recovery and Put it in root of your SDCARD
2.Open Mobile uncle tools and select Recovery Update
3.Flash my recovery.img file

My MX A88 is not getting root... i installed drivers...used restore with binary tool. process happened but its not rooted. Please suggest if i am missing something...

i guess to root musis, we should flash cwm recovery first, as we do in canvas 2/hd with jelly bean.
downloading the rom, will try to flash canvas 2's cwm recovery. will post results.

EDIT: Please tell ur friend. the recovery u've posted is not working either.

Got CWM Recovery (ported from canvas 2 by myself)
now rooting canvas music.
will update tomorrow.

canvas 2 has different kernel. will not work for canvas music.

My gps is showing incorrect location >1.5 aways then i m standing even if A-GPS and EPO is on..

just load all files in SP Flasher and press Download.. then remove battery out of phone and connect your phone to PC

I found a very simple one click method for rooting Micromax A74, you don't even need a PC to root your device, just download the FRAMAROOT application and follow the steps below.
1. Install Framaroot.apk and open it.
2. Choose Install SuperSu, as SuperUser didn't work for me.
3. Then Click on "Boromir".
4. It will display a root confirmation message, click on "OK" and then "REBOOT" your device.
5 After reboot you will find SuperSu application in the App Drawer.
If you see the application then you have successfully rooted your device.

7.RUN MTK DROID TOOL.EXE AS ADMIN.
8.GO TO SETTINGS>ABOUT AND TOUCH 1 TO 5 TIMES ON BULID NUMBER. AND YOU CAN SEE DEVELEPOR OPTIONS APPER ON SETTINGS AND TICK ON USB DEBUGGING.
FOLLOW THIS STEPS:
1.Connect your switched on rooted mtk device to your computer and open MTKDroid tool, the tool will recognise your device and connect to it, if the colour indicator in the bottom left corner is green, you already have root shell,and can go on to the next step, if it is yellow, click on the root button at the bottom, and wait for the progress bar, if the indicator stays yellow, or you get an error message, this probably means you do not have Busybox installed, you can install it from the google play store. When the indicator turns to green you have root shell which is necessary for this operation.

2.Next click on the tab 'root,backup,recovery' and select 'to use boot from phone' then click on 'recovery and boot' and shortly after a dialogue box will appear asking if you want to 'make cwm recovery automatically' click yes
3.The tool will then create the recovery and another dialogue box will appear asking to 'install created recovery to phone', click yes.
4.And finally the tool will ask to reboot into recovery mode, click yes and the device will reboot into CWM recovery so you can check the installation was successful.

I bought this phone in December and have already rooted and enhanced it with some tweaks but was wondering if anyone would port Kitkat or to this phone? Or even a dedoxed version of this rom? It is fast but Multi tasking freezes it up since system takes 3/4th of the RAM..

Steps to follow.
1: Get the bootanimation zip from the media folder.
2: Copy zip to your SD card
3: Use Es explorer or any root explorer(I use android commander for system file access.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=597098)
4: Cut and paste your original boot animation and shutanimation zip file somewhere in your memory card (if you wish to keep a backup).
5:copy the boot animation you downloaded in to /system/media and check if the permissions are rw-r—r—. If not, change them to that.
6. Create another copy of zip and name it as "shutanimation"
7. You can also change/disable the boot/shut sound by naming "bootaudio" and "shutaudio".

Rooting Fly F53s Success
OP, you can use root master ( just google "VRoot_1.7.0.3882_Setup.exe").
it is a Chinese rooting desktop program.
you will find some threads in this forum also (forum.xda-developers.com) regarding root master, but they might not give you all the required files.
after rooting, install CWM author's superuser app from play store & disable the Chinese superuser app.
you can also uninstall the other Chinese app which is installed by the root master.

It is probably the key testing mode. Take your battery out and reboot your phone normally.

2) did you have stock nandroid backup? (pl share this file here)
3) how did you managed to increase internal memory of the phone after rooting? (is it by link2sd or anything else? info about this please)

For Kitkat
With PC
(i) Download :- TWRP for Micromax E313.zip
(ii) Unzip TWRP for Micromax E313.zip
(iii) In Sp Flash Tools Select Scatter From Unzipped Folder Then Click Download (Make Sure You Have All Drivers installed in your PC)
(iv) Then connect Your Phone(Without Battery) With USB Cable.
(v) When Flash Completes You Can Go In Recovery By Pressing VolUp+Power Button.
Without PC
(i) Download :- TWRP for Micromax E313.zip
(ii) Move recovery.img In PhoneStorage
(iii) Install "KingRoot App" to Root The Phone
(iv) Now Install "Mobile Uncle Tools" From "Playstore"
(v) Open "Mobile Uncle Tools" And Click Recovery Update SuperUser May Ask Permission Click Allow
(vi) Click On recovery.img Then Wait Your Recovery Will Be Flashed
(vii) Now You Can Go In Recovery Mode By Pressing Volume Up+Power Button.
For Lollipop
(i) Download :- TWRP Lollipop Patch for Micromax E313.zip
(ii) Unzip TWRP for Micromax E313.zip
(iii) In Sp Flash Tools Select Scatter From Unzipped Folder Then Click Download (Make Sure You Have All Drivers installed in your PC)
(iv) Then connect Your Phone(Without Battery) With USB Cable.
(v) When Flash Completes You Can Go In Recovery By Pressing VolUp+Power Button
**Remind that Lollipop Patch Can Wipe Your device's Data, So Make backup of Your Important File Before Flashing

yes you can but only with kitkat firmware

Why only with kitkat. I have roted lollipop. Unlocked bootloader.

Then you have to flash it through SP Flash Tool.

hi sir.....i accedently flashes a custom recovery to my micromax e313(sw v13 which is old xpress 2 with lollipop update) by using mobile uncle tools. now i cant boot into both custom recovery and stock recovery but my phone is working except recovery problem. i root it using kingroot. pls sir help me to flash custom recovery(without pc) and then i am looking to flash resurrection remix 5.7.0 rom through that custom recovery. my mobile is micromax canvas xpress 2 e313 with os lollipop 5.1. my xpress 2 is sw v13.0 which is old xpress 2. thx in advance
pls help me the procedures with win 8.1.
