Root canvas 2 with/running on jellybean

FIRST DOWNLOAD THE FOLLOWING FILES:
1.Sp flash tools from here
Password of sp flash [email protected]
2.recovery image
click to download
3.superuser binaries from here
Extract and open sp flash tools(run as administrator)
click on scatter loading option and browse for the file in that folder
where you have extracted flash tools.you will find a text file...select it.
IT WILL LOOK LIKE THIS:

check RECOVERY file
now select RECOVERY FILE by single clicking on it
browse for the location where u have placed the downloaded recovery image and select the extracted recovery image.
NOTE-IF YOU FIND ALL THE FILES INCLUDING RECOVERY FILE ALSO SELECTED THEN MAKE SURE TO DESELECT ALL EXCEPT RECOVERY.
NOW SWITCH OFF YOUR PHONE AND REMOVE THE BATTERY
now click on download option in flash tools.....
connect your phone in 'BATTERY REMOVED' state
wait till the process completes....
after the process has been completed it will show DOWNLOAD OK
close sp flash tools and disconnect ur fone from ur pc and put the battery back.
WITH THIS U HAVE FLASHED CLOCKWORK RECOVERY ON YOUR CANVAS 2.
place the superuser.zip file in your phone's sd card(prefferably internal)
but do not extract it.
now BOOT INTO CLOCKWORK RECOVERY MODE by holding power key+vol.up key+vol.down key.
select install zip from sd card
then choose zip from internal sd card(if you have placed it in internal sd or otherwise select choose zip from sd card)
select the above placed zip and flash it.....
go back and reboot system
AFTER REBOOTING YOU WILL FIND A SUPERUSER APP IN YOUR PHONE
THIS MEANS THAT YOUR PHONE HAS BEEN ROOTED

Canvas 2 Phones which come with pre build Jelly Bean OS, has some problem.
Micromax removed all the mount point permission, so this method will give a BROM ERROR : SOC_Verification_Failed !
With or without Battery, Phone should be completely turned Off.
In some case, with battery doesnt work At all !

I know that in both cases battery doesn't work at all. I personally try all different methods before posting..
But i recommend to remove battery cuz some may connect the fone before it is completely switched off. So in order to prevent any mishappening i choose the method of playing safe.
I do not want that anybody should brick his phone and than blame my thread!!

my A110 came preloaded with stock JB 4.1.1. I tried the above method you mentioned.When i click download and connect my phone,nothing happens and it stay just like that.......please help

This is very common with all the canvas 2 users....because u guys are simply missing drivers. Not a big deal. Just follow my following thread to install drivers and den do whatever u want(root,downgrad etc)

It seems dat ur drivers are properly installed or otherwise flash tools wont detect ur fone at all.
But it seems a different kinda error. Have u downloaded all the files i.e. recovery and tools etc from the link given in the post?

Yes......I have done all the steps correctly.....still no luck......in addition I have also tried some other methods but to no result.......I have attached details about my phone if it is of any help.

U can flash suvi *rom v9* via sp flash tools as it is sp flash tools flashable rom and moreover it is PRE ROOTED to get rid of this issue.

If u have enough free time than u can also first downgrade then root ur fone and then again upgrade ur fone but dis time to pre rooted jb i.e. flashing jb stock rom via cwm.

One-Click Rooting Guides by me using FRAMAROOT
I found a very simple one click method for rooting Micromax A74, you don't even need a PC to root your device, just download the FRAMAROOT application and follow the steps below.
1. Install Framaroot.apk and open it.
2. Choose Install SuperSu, as SuperUser didn't work for me.
3. Then Click on "Boromir".
4. It will display a root confirmation message, click on "OK" and then "REBOOT" your device.
5 After reboot you will find SuperSu application in the App Drawer.
If you see the application then you have successfully rooted your device.

2.Next click on the tab 'root,backup,recovery' and select 'to use boot from phone' then click on 'recovery and boot' and shortly after a dialogue box will appear asking if you want to 'make cwm recovery automatically' click yes
3.The tool will then create the recovery and another dialogue box will appear asking to 'install created recovery to phone', click yes.
4.And finally the tool will ask to reboot into recovery mode, click yes and the device will reboot into CWM recovery so you can check the installation was successful.

I bought this phone in December and have already rooted and enhanced it with some tweaks but was wondering if anyone would port Kitkat or to this phone? Or even a dedoxed version of this rom? It is fast but Multi tasking freezes it up since system takes 3/4th of the RAM..

Firstly you must have a Full backup of your Device (that backup which is made by mtkdroidtools contains these files shown in pic here

Things you need:
• SP Flash Tools to flash all backup files
• Qmobile A2 Drivers --> (MT65x3 USB VCOM drivers + ADB_usb_driver + pdaNet) https://www.dropbox.com/sh/5zdw0fe0c5o98u0/JRyKXydQn3
• Data cable
• CWM Recovery 6 View attachment Recovery(CWM6).img
• Needle
• and some knowledge
Procedure:
Okay so now install all drivers that are mentioned above!
after that connect your device and make your system recongnise your device obviously it fails as your device is bricked :/ but do this then
now open up sp flash tool and load scatter file that is present in backup folder in mtkdroidtools
when you select scatterfile it automatically check marks on some boxes including preloader, boot, logo etc
dont uncheck any of them and then check the recovery box and click on recovery
then select cwm6 (remember to rename cwm6 to recovery.img)
then click on Android and select system.img
see below image to see how to get system.img file
now click on download
immediatly connect you qmobile a2
then wait to install drivers
after drivers are installed (might give you installation failed if failed then proceed too)
after that press and hold needle in test point see image below
now sp flash tool start flashing your device keep and hold the needle pressed in test point
after two or three times loading sp flash tool will give an error click ok then
remove needle and remove usb
now turn on your mobile it will be unbricked
your phone has cwm recovery 6 installed with stock rom

QMobile Noir A2 Bricked
Assalam o'alaikum
I have been unable to boot my set after trying to root it by the test point method. Its version 3.
I have tried the above method too but it does not work on it. The reason may be that my mobile does not boot at all.
No logo screen rather it does not start even when I plug it in the charger it does not charge.
What could be wrong? When I tried your method it stucks at 4% when flashing by the flash tool.
It gives the error that the page file is not aligned. Please help me out as I am very worried.

Rooting:
Thanks to rohitm1991, we now know of a easy root method for Karbonn A12+.
Download SRSRoot One Click for your Windows PC.
Install Drivers for your phone using pdanet or Universal ADB Drivers.
Connect your phone using usb cable.
Click Smart Root in SRSRoot application on your pc.
A Prompt on your phone will ask you to install an app. Confirm.
When first two exploit fail, third exploit will launch, click Boromir on your phone and you will get a congratulation mesaage.
Reboot your phone.
If it doesn't work in first try, try again, worked for me with the exact same steps being repeated in the second try.

Clockworkmod Recovery:
I have successfully ported Clockworkmod Recovery for our Karbonn A12+ with the help of MTK Droid Tools. I have created a special zip file to help you through the process. The files in the zip are pretty self explanatory but if you need detailed instructions, refer this guide.
Stock ROM
Thanks to chukzde, here is the cwm flashable zip of the stock rom.
I have took a full backup of the stock rom through:
SP Flash Tool, MTK Droid Tool and CWM as well. Shall upload when I have free internet to waste. Others are requested to upload one if they are blessed with a good internet connection.
Here is MT6572 Scatter file for you to use while flashing any stuff using SP Flash Tool.
Please note that old versions of SP Flash Tool will throw an error like failed to initialize on this scatter file. This file works fine with the latest version of SP Flash Tool (latest according to what I could find on the internet).
Sound Mod:
Rooted A12+ (and other device) users can use Viper Sound Mod to improve the sound quality of the phone speaker or any headset you use with it. I have shared my experience of the Viper Sound Mod on the Karbonn A12+ here.
Key Combinations:
Press and hold Volume Down + Power Button to get into Factory Mode. Selecting the only option with some english in it will factory reset your Karbonn A12+
Press and hold Volume Up + Power Button to get to a menu. In this menu, use Volume Up to scroll and Volume Down to select. From this menu, you can go to Fastboot Mode, Recovery Mode or boot normally.

Modified Stock Launcher for Karbonn A12+
- Persistent Search bar matched to look as Jellybean style
- KitKat style Folder previews/background and App Drawer icon
Steps to Install:
Before proceeding, just to be on safer side download any other Launcher from the Play Store and use that Launcher while performing the below steps.
- Download the modified Launcher2.apk
- Using any root file explorer of your choice (I personally use ES File Explorer) copy it into /system/app
- Set permissions as -rw-r--r--
Note: Don't touch the Launcher2.odex file.

How to change Setting After Rooting
I want to Know is it possible to change the Android Phone Setting like Karbonn A12+.
If yes how ?
I want to Add / change Setting to add RINGTONE Selection Option for TWO SIMs in the Phone.
As the Phone does not have ringtone selection Option for the two Sims. like in Karbonn A15.

I got this phone couple of days back. Is it having a 2MP camera on the back. In settings picture size shows max only 2MP. no options beyond that. Can you please confirm the back camera is 5mp or 2mp ?

karbonn a12+ got root but after flashing cwm from mobile uncle tool it get into old recovery only ............help

A12+ stuck at boot
i have A12+ and have rooted it successfully:laugh: but then in hurry i have installed chainfire downloaded long ago which is not compatible with jellybean 4.2.2 and i am stuck in boot screen (the eye) , i have already tried wiping data and cache from recovery and i have not installed cwm i have stock recovery. i could have uninstalled it via adb but 4.2.2 have sideload only hence adb commands are not working adb shell returns error : closed error. now the only option i have is to flash stock rom which i have not backed up so it would be very kind of you to upload it .or i have also read that it could be achieved by installing TWRP recovery and then renaming some files and changing some values from this linkhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2560607 , who had similar case like me .so if anyone could provide me the stock rom and preloader drivers it would be very helpful my mobile is just a week old :crying:

I have clockworkmod backup of stock Rom, about 940 mb in size but I don't have a decent enough internet connection to upload it.

can I boot into recovery mode if my a12+ got bricked..
(stucked at boot image or eye)

@suthar98.sunil, unless an Android device is hard bricked, you can boot into recovery mode. But unless you have flashed a custom recovery like clockworkmod (link in first post) or twrp and a device backup to restore, it won't be of much use.

Scrolling interrupted at borders
Whenever i'm scrolling down in any app, no matter how slowly, it goes smoothy but is always interrupted at the borders, like in calendar, at the border between two months,in play store home page, after each app tile; or in es file explorer, after each folder while in list view, the scrolling movement bumps a little at the borders and then continues again. It happens in every app but is more visible in these. can the framework files be modified in any way to solve this issue, as I've already tried the smooth scroll tweak in the framework file and am also sure the device does not lag.
Do any of you guys out there experience this issue too?

[TUT]How to ROOT and FLASH CWM Recovery in Micromax Canvas viva a72 / MTK65XX Series

Hey friends am Ajai and I own mmx a72 , as of you guys I too faced problem due to low internal memory , so don't worry here's the solution for your problems.
The following methods are collected from the internet but I personally tested these methods on my own mobile and they are working great.
How to ROOT mmx a72​
1. First of all download and install the drivers for your mmx viva a72 from the link below.

3. After installing
Connect your phone via cable
Enable Unknown sources
Enable usb debugging and Allow mock location (Setting -> Applications -> Development)
Double click eroot.exe in your PC
Connect your mmx a72 phone to pc via USB it should look like this

How to flash CWM in mmx a72 / All MTK Chipset​
Installing CWMR (ClockWorkMod Recovery) in MTK (MediaTek) Smart Phone:
NOTE 1: Make a backup through MTKDroidTool before, if something goes wrong!
NOTE 2: Your phone must be rooted before installing ClockWorkMod Recovery!
Download MTKDroidTools from below link

1. Extract and open MTKDroidTools and press ROOT button
2. Select root, backup, recovery tab and select To use boot from phone option,then press Recovery and Boot button
3. Press Yes button when asked for Automatic CWM Recovery
4. Press No button when asked for Flash Patched BOOT.IMG
5. Press Yes button when asked for Install created recovery to phone
6. [THIS IS OPTIONAL] To check if recovery works press Yes button when asked for Reload phone in recovery
7. Here are 2 recovery screen shots in mobile:
8. If the process is completed it should be like this

9. To Boot in CWM install the following apk

One more thing the recovery can't be acessed by using volume keys.
It is only accessing through rom manager.
Plz help me to boot into recovery using keys in mmx a72

I have done rooting procedure on my canvas viva...quite for some time now...recently I changed the memory card...and after performing hard reset...now I cannot get root access for any of my apparently...like link2sd..snapshot and various such apps...can anybody help please
