Sprint s5 google dialer - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I didn't see this topic anywhere but after OTA update to 4.4, I still have the regular dialer. What happened to the Google dialer work the t6 search?

Voice Dialer for Stock ICS GT. N7000 Note

I like the old voice dialer found on older Samsung devices that just dials numbers from one's contact list. I have this voice dialer on my rooted SGH-I717 Note but the same dialer will not work on my Stock N7000 Note running 4.04 ICS.
I like the simple voice dialer to dial while driving. Its much faster than the other voice activated systems that must use the internet.
Does anyone have a voice dialer apk that works on the stock 4.04 ROM?

I think this app doesn't require internet connecton

Thanks. I have Cyber on Voice Command already. It doesn't work as well as the Voice Dialer.

I'm still looking for the simple Android AOSP dialer that will work on a stock N7000 running ICS.

Hangouts

I tried installing the new Google Hangouts and it tells me that it is not available for the Note 8! Any ideas why?

Mine says it is installed on my device from the web play store, but it is the Google Talk app. i can't delete Google Talk to see if re-installing the app would work (non-rooted.) Strange.

Google hasn't released a tablet version of Hangouts yet. It will be coming soon though.

Google Talk turns into hangouts after install. I just downloaded the apk from the Web. But I see a download link on xda as well:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41473448
Note after I installed the apk, it still had a Google Talk icon. But it turned into a hangouts icon overnight.

I'm using an Archos G9 and all I had to do yesterday was sideload the APK from a mirror (not the Play Store link) and as soon as I finished installing it, it was updated from Talk to Hangouts. So if my crappy G9 can get it, you should be able to get it on that fly-ass N8 of yours! Best of luck!

Not receiving SMS on sprint

So, unlocked running multiple different ROMs I've noticed that I'm no longer receiving texts. Sometimes they all come in later in the day in a big batch. I am on Sprint and using the Google voice integration. If I install the Google voice app I can get my texts right away in that app but not coming through hangouts. Anyone have any experience with this or any ideas? I've flashed back to stock, but still unlocked and rooted... No change. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Tried using chomp SMS, no change. Also, MMS appears to be unaffected.

I had this issue my first day with my Nexus... I found that toggling my mobile network between global and LTE fixed it. Then I updated profile and PRL and it hasn't happened since

Google voice with hangouts

So I don't have cell service yet but I'd like to get my voice messages through hangouts. Is it possible? I'm on paranoid android with Franco kennel.

Yes. Go in your Google Voice settings and under sync and notification, select messaging app under where you'd like to receive your messages.

But then I can't send messages out without cell service.

You will need to be connected to WiFi. Test it out and post your results back.
Google voice will just reroute you messages to hangouts but it will still use wifi to send the messages.

I've already tried the suggested in this thread. No bueno at all. It don't work it stays stuck on sending when I start a message to a contact.
That's the only way I know of getting GV messages in Hangouts.
I've never tried it without service. I guess hangouts itself is totally dependent on cellular networks by default. Sorry couldn't be of more help.
Sit tight. I'm sure someone else will have another idea for you.
